1.0 Activation and Floor Preparation
(68-HP Floor Box shown in instructions)
Finished Floor Concrete
1.1 Floor box must already be set in concrete
according to instructions furnished with oor box.
1.2
Remove temporary cover from 68-HP or 68-HPCI oor box. Use a saw to cut top of box ush to
concrete oor surface (see Figure 2).
CAUTION
Box must be cut square and parallel with
concrete oor surface (see Figure 2).
1.3 Install oor covering and trim hole around oor
box opening to 7” diameter (see Figure 3).
1.4 Measure depth of oor box from nished oor to
bottom of the box. Use a saw to cut the voltage
divider so that when it is inserted in the oor box,
the top of the divider is 2-1/2” ±1/8” below the
nished oor surface (see Figures 4 and 5).
1.5
Place the voltage divider in box. The ribbed side of
the divider must face the power side. The letters
“HP” will be visible in bottom of the box when
divider is in correct orientation (see Figures 4 and 6).

2.0 Power and Data Feed
2.1 Verify voltage divider is in oor box (see Step 1.5).
2.2 Secure 68-HP-FFC-XXX cover to FFMK ring using
(3) screws furnished with cover. See instructions
furnished with cover (see gure 7).
2.3 Do not lower FFMK ring and cover into oor Box
until power conductors and data cable are fed
through (see Steps 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6)
2.4 Floor Box and Cover must be grounded according
to local and national electric codes. Connect FFMK
ring ground wire to circuit ground wire. When
cast iron box (68-HP-CI) is used, connect circuit
ground wire to box ground. Note: 68-HP-CI ground
wire shown in instruction sheet furnished with box
(see Figure 8).
2.5 Remove cover plugs and pull power (electrical)
conductors and grounding wires up through power
side of oor box and through power side of FFMK
ring. Continue pulling conductors through 1”
threaded conduit hole in cover (see Figure 8).
2.6 Pull data cables up through data side of oor box
and through data side of FFMK ring. Continue
pulling data cables through 1-1/2” threaded
conduit hole in cover (see Figure 8).

3.0 Install Cover to Floor Box
3.1 Verify voltage divider is in oor box. (see Step 1.5).
3.2 Applying sealant to floor:
3.2.1 Concrete and carpet: Apply moderate
amount of sealant or caulk directly to
concrete oor fully around box opening.
(about 1/8” from outside edge of box).
Use enough sealant to block water entry
(see Figure 3).
3.2.2 Tile, Wood and Linoleum: Apply moderate
amount of sealant directly on nished oor.
Fully surround 7” diameter opening in oor.
Use enough sealant to block water entry
(see Figure 3).
3.3 Carefully align guide ribs on FFMK ring with
divider and grooves in oor box. The 1” threaded
power conduit hole must be located over power
compartment in box. Lower FFMK ring and cover
assembly into box opening. Apply pressure to top
of cover to complete installation (see Figure. 8 and
9). Clean excess sealant from around cover edge.
3.4 Attach suitable conduit ttings. All unused ports in
cover are to be plugged with plugs furnished with
cover. Use thread sealer on all plugs and ttings to
block water entry (See Figure 9 and 10).
3.5 Figure 9 shows conduit ttings attached to cover.
Figure 10 shows plugs installed in cover.
4.0 Removal of Cover & FFMK Ring
(Only when necessary).
4.1 Remove the cover 68-HP-FFC-XXX. Remove the
(2) screws holding the retainer clips (see gure 7).
