2 Safety instructions
Use the device only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other oper‐ ating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages resulting from improper use.
This device may be used only by persons with sufficient physical, sensorial, and intellectual abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.

Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard!
Ensure that children do not detach any small parts (e.g. knobs or the like) from the unit. They could swallow the pieces and choke!

DANGER! Electric shock caused by high voltages inside
Within the device there are areas where high voltages may be present. Never remove any covers.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
DANGER! Electric shock caused by short-circuit
Always use proper ready-made insulated mains cabling (power cord) with a pro‐ tective contact plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so could result in electric shock/death or fire. If in doubt, seek advice from a regis‐ tered electrician.

CAUTION! Possible hearing damage
With loudspeakers or headphones connected, the device can produce volume levels that may cause temporary or permanent hearing impairment.
Do not operate the device permanently at a high volume level. Decrease the volume level immediately if you experience ringing in your ears or hearing impairment.
NOTICE! Risk of fire
Do not block areas of ventilation. Do not install the device near any direct heat source. Keep the device away from naked flames.

NOTICE! Operating conditions
This device has been designed for indoor use only. To prevent damage, never expose the device to any liquid or moisture. Avoid direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and strong vibrations.
NOTICE! Power supply
Before connecting the device, ensure that the input voltage (AC outlet) matches the voltage rating of the device and that the AC outlet is protected by a residual current circuit breaker. Failure to do so could result in damage to the device and possibly injure the user.
Unplug the device before electrical storms occur and when it is unused for long periods of time to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire.

3 Installation and operation
Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the unit.
Establish all connections as long as the unit is switched off. Use the shortest possible high­quality cables for all connections.
A male XLR panel connector is used for the signal output (LINE OUT). The figure and the table below show the pin assignment of a corresponding female XLR connector.

1 ACTIVE/PASSIVE
Pressed: Connect with a passive bass guitar. Not pressed: Connect with an active bass guitar.
2 INPUT
1/4-inch (6.35-mm) monaural jack for the input signal from your bass guitar.
3 POWER
The LED lights green when the amplifier turns on. It lights red when the power amplifier is clipping. In this case, turn down the volume using the "MASTER" control (17).
4 CLIP
This LED lights when the pre-amplifier is overdriving. In this case, turn down the gain using the "GAIN" control (5).
5 GAIN
Control to adjust the pre-amplifier gain level.

6 BOOST
Push-button to boost low frequencies. The control LED lights when this function is activated.
7 LOW
Control to cut or boost low frequencies by ±12 dB
8 BRIGHT
Push-button to boost high frequencies. The control LED lights when this function is activated.
9 HIGH
Control to cut or boost high frequencies by ±12 dB
10 EQ
Push-button to activate the 6-band graphic equalizer. The control LED lights when the equalizer is activated.
11 6-band graphic equalizer for sound adjustment. The equalizer operates at mid-range frequencies of 50 Hz, 120 Hz, 400 Hz,
800 Hz, 3,2 kHz, and 10 kHz. By means of the slide controls, these frequencies can be individually boosted or cut by ±12 dB.
12 COLOR
Push-button to activate the timbre control (13). The control LED lights when this function is activated. With a footswitch connected, the "COLOR" control has no function.

Timbre control – from vintage to modern.
14 CONTOUR
Push-button to activate the contour control. The control LED lights when this function is activated.
15 CONTOUR
Contour control to decrease mid-range frequencies while boosting low and high frequencies.
16 MUTE
Push-button to mute the outputs for loudspeaker and LINE. The headphones output stays active. The control LED lights when this function is activated.
With a footswitch connected, the "MUTE" control has no function.
17 MASTER
Control for the overall volume. To avoid signal clipping, monitor the "POWER" LED (3) while adjusting the volume.

18 PHONES
¼-inch (6.35-mm) headphone jack. With headphones connected, the "SPEAKER OUT" and "LINE OUT" outputs are muted. To avoid noise and distorted sound signals, turn down the volume using the "MASTER" control (17) before inserting or
removing the headphone plug.
19 AUX IN
Additional signal input that is fed in after the sound control and the equalizer. Use the "MASTER" control (17) to adjust the volume.

20 TUNER OUT
¼-inch (6.35-mm) monaural jack socket for a tuner.
21 FOOTSWITCH
¼-inch (6.35-mm) stereo jack to connect an optional double footswitch for the "MUTE" and "COLOR" functions.
22 LINE OUT
Male XLR panel connector as signal output for direct connection with a mixer, other power amplifiers or a recording device. GND LIFT If a ground loop causes hum, use this switch to disconnect the ground line of LINE OUT.
23 Fan
The fan speed varies according to the chassis inside temperature. Do not block the fan.
24 SPEAKER OUT
Loudspeaker output, the signal is available in parallel on both a ¼-inch (6.35-mm) monaural jack and a lockable speakON panel jack.
