MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
Ifyourtelevision or VCR does not havethe requiredVideo Input, you will needan RFModulator (Radio Frequency Modulator), which connects through your TV Antenna or cable line and servesas VideoInput.
ENGLISH
An RF Modulator can be purchased at almost any consumer electronics retailer. If you are connecting thevideo from theSinging Machineto either atelevision or aVCR video inputjack, you must specify thesource theTV orVCR isto display. Your TVor VCRuser guidecan tellyou howto displaythevideo signalfromthe‘Video In’jack.
If you don’t have the manual for your TV or VCR, we suggest calling the TV or VCR, manufacturer’s customerservicedepartment. Onlythe manufacturerwillbeableto tellyou very quickly how to configure your TV or VCR to display the video signal coming from the ‘Video Input’jack.
D
Note: Some projection TV sets do not properly display the standard blue background when usingmostCDGs. Ifthe backgroundcolor isinconsistent orflashing, pleasetryconnecting your SingingMachine toastandard tubetelevision.
COMMON WAYS TOCONFIGURE YOUR TVOR VCR
Your Singing Machine is designed to connect to your TV the same way you would connect a video camera, VCR or video game. The Singing Machineis constantly sending the video and audiosignals tothe 'VideoOut'and'AUX OUT'jacks wheneveryouplaya CDG. So,loada CDG into yourSinging Machinebefore you start makingthese connections.Youwill see lyricson the TVscreen assoonas yougetthesetup completedcorrectly.
We refer to TV/VCR because manufacturers use very similar waysto connect TVs and VCRs and you can connect your Singing Machine to a TV, VCR or satellite system (contact your satellitecompanyforinstructions). The setupofyourTV/VCR isthe mostdifficultpart ofmaking the connection for displaying yourSinging Machine lyrics. Inmost homes, the TVhas either a cable connected orantennae in use.Once you connectyour Singing Machineto the TV/VCR, you must 'tell' yourTV/VCR to display the input fromthe Singing Machine instead of the usual inputfrom thecableor antennae.
Check your TV/VCR user manual for the easiest way to setup your particular entertainment system. If youdon't have yourmanual you can always callyour TV/VCRmanufacturer for that information or try hitting their website for online assistance. We've listed below the most commonways ofsettingup aTV/VCR:
In the setup menufor configuring theTV/VCR there may bean option on 'Input Selection'
(1)
whereyou maychoosebetween 'Cable/Ant.','Video1', or'Video2' etc.asthe inputsource.
Try looking for a 'Video' channel between the highest channel and the lowest channel on
(2)
yourTV orVCR.(i.e. Between99and 2maybe 'VIDEO'or'INPUT' or'GAME'.)
(3) Look for a button on the remote control for the TV/VCR you are connecting to that says
'VIDEO', 'VIDEO 1', 'Game', 'AUX', 'EXT', 'LINE1', 'LINE-IN' or occasionally the 'VCR' buttonwill displaytheVideo inputsource.
