Instrument Operation
The instrument is switched on by pressing the ON/OFF button located on the front of the
instrument. Within one second the thermometer is ready to work. Apply the tip of the probe to
the substance or medium to be measured. The instrument reading may take a few seconds to
stabilize, depending on the nature of the measurement.
MAX /MIN Memory Function
Press the MA X/MIN button to display the maximum reading and a MA X symbol will ash in the
display. Press the MAX /MIN button again to display the minimum reading and a MIN symbol will
ash in the display. Press MAX /MIN button again to return to the normal reading. To clear the
MAX /MIN temperature memory, press the MAX/MIN and ON/OFF but tons simultaneously.
Alarm Function
To operate the audible alarm function, simply press the set button to adjust the high or low
alarm reading, the alarm settings will then ash in the display. The user can adjust the alarm
temperatures via the up or down key, pressing the set key to retain the information. The audible
alarm will sound when the temperature setting has been exceeded and will cease once the
temperatures have returned to within the boundaries set.
Battery Replacement
Replace the bat teries immediately if “Bat” illuminates or if the reading becomes erratic or the
display clarity fades, using two AAA, MN2400 or 1.5 volt equivalent. The bat teries are located
under the battery cover at the rear of the instrument.
EMC/RFI
Readings may be affected if the unit is operated within a radio frequency electromagnetic eld
strength of approximately 3 volts per metre, but the performance of the instrument will not be
permanently af fected.
