USING THE HEATER
WARNING
!POTENTIAL FOR ELECTRICAL HAZARD!
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons,
including the following:
1) Read all instructions before using this heater.
2) This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin
touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater.
Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding,
papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet, from the front of the
heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
3) Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near
children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and
unattended.
4) Always unplug heater when not in use.

5) Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the
heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical
or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
6) Do not use outdoors.
7) This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and
similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a
bathtub or other water container.
8) Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs,
runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and
where it will not be tripped over.
9) To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, allow the fan to stop
running, then remove plug from outlet. DO NOT unplug heater until the
fan has stopped running.
10) Connect to properly grounded outlets only.
11) Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or
exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or
damage the heater.
12) To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any
manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may
become blocked.
13) A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in
areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
14) Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or
injury to persons.
15) Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use
with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
This heater has a self protection function. If the heater does
not operate normally, check cord and temperature setting, then
UNPLUG IT FROM THE OUTLET & PLUG IT BACK INTO OUTLET TO RESET THE HEATER
This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug with
three blades for proper grounding. DO NOT attempt to modify
the plug in any way or use adaptors to defeat the purpose of
the grounding feature. Plug ONLY into a receptacle that
accepts three blade plug.

FIREPLACE OPERATION
Plug your Infrared fireplace heater power cord into a 120V, 15 amp or 20
amp three bladed outlet.
To Set Flame Brightness: Use the Dimmer button (4) on the control
panel or remote control. The flame brightness control button is used to
increase or decrease the brightness of the flame and ember. Press
once, the brightness will start and keep changing. Press again to set
the desired level.

To Turn the Heater On: Press the
Power button (1) on the control
panel or on the remote control.
To Set the Temperature: Press
the Up or Down button(2) on the
control panel or on the remote control to the desired temperature.
When desired temperature is
reached, the heater will stop heating automatically. When the temperature
drops below the desired temperature, the
heater will come on again.
The default display is the set temperature. To
display the room temperature, press and hold
the Up button for 3 (three) seconds, and then
the room temperature will display for 5 (five)
seconds.
Please note: The fan may run up to 2.5
minutes after heating has stopped. This is
NORMAL!
To Set the Heating Level: Press the Heat
button (3) on the control panel or the remote
control to switch between high and low heat
and the corresponding High (H) or Low (L)
LED will be lit. The high heat level uses 1500
watts for rooms up to 1000 square feet. The
low heat level uses 1000 watts for rooms up to
500 square feet.
To Change Between °C and °F: Press the
C/F button (5).

FIREPLACE PLACEMENT
Our Infrared Fireplace heater is a very safe and effective room heater. It
produces safe, clean and economical heat by utilizing quartz infrared
heating elements and multiple copper heat exchangers. The heating
process of the Infrared Fireplace heater is similar to the way the sun
warms the earth. The infrared elements warm the copper heat exchangers and the whisper quiet fan distributes the accumulated warmth. This
process is unique among heaters in that it minimizes wasteful heat collection at the ceiling height of rooms and targets it toward the living space
instead.
To achieve maximum efficiency of the Thermal Wave Portable Infrared
Heater, please consider the following recommendations:
1. Place the Thermal Wave near the center of the home next to a
warmer inside wall with the heat being blown toward the colder outside walls of the home. This will allow the thermostat to accurately
moderate the temperature, therefore producing a more even warmth.
2. For best results, do not locate the Thermal Wave Portable Heater in
an area with a high rate of air flow.
3. For maximum efficiency, a 40% (minimum) relative humidity should be
maintained in the heated environment.
4. The Thermal Wave is designed to operate at maximum efficiency up
to the 70-72˚F range. Due to this unique heat concept, a temperature
at 68˚F feels as though it were 72˚F. Similar to a summer heat index,
the moisture in the air holds the heat and transfers it evenly throughout the entire area.
5. For efficiency, the Thermal Wave Infrared Heater is not recommended
for use in areas with exposed, non-insulated, concrete, or metal walls.
You can use the TW 1500 in any room, whether insulated or not. However, a non-insulated room will allow for greater heat loss that will impact the effectiveness of the heater.
6. Keep the area around the heater clear of clutter and obstacles to insure free airflow into and out from the heater.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If your heater shuts off unexpectedly:
1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working outlet.
2. Check for any obstructions. If you find one, turn the heating unit OFF and
unplug it. Wait at least 10 minutes to allow the heating unit to cool completely before removing any obstruction. When done, plug in the unit and
follow the Operation Instructions.
If your fireplace tips over:
1. Set the unit back in its upright position and check for any damage. If
damage is detected, unplug unit and contact customer service for further
assistance.
2. If no damage is detected, push the power button to turn the unit back on.
If your fireplace does not illuminate properly:
1. The light bulbs may have vibrated loose and need to be tightened.
2. The light bulbs may be damaged and need to be replaced.
FIREPLACE MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Disconnect power before attempting any maintenance or
cleaning to reduce risk of fire, electric shock to persons or damage.
Be sure unit has cooled completely, or severe burns could result.
LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT
Light bulbs need to be replaced when you notice a dark section of the flame
or when the clarity and detail of the log exterior disappears. There are two
bulbs under the log set.
WARNING: Allow at least 5 minutes for the light bulbs to cool off
before touching bulbs to avoid burning skin.
BULB REQUIREMENTS
The fireplace uses 2 clear 40 watt chandelier or candelabra bulbs with an E12 (small) socket base, rating voltage 120 volts.
CAUTION: Do not exceed 40 watts per bulb.
CHANGING LIGHT BULBS
Unplug the unit first.
1. Using a Phillips screw driver, remove 6 screws to open the light bulb
area: Hold left and right side of the cover at the bottom of your firebox
and pull straight out. You can see two bulbs in the firebox.
2. Examine the bulbs to determine which bulbs require replacement.
3. Remove old bulb and replace with a new one. Hold the socket while unscrewing or screwing bulbs.
4. Replace cover.

WARRANTY: The Company warrants this product to the original purchaser or gift recipient, to be free from defects in workmanship and material under normal use and service, for a period of three years from the date of purchase.
LIMITATIONS: ALL WARRANTIES IMPLIED BY LAW, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTIES SET FORTH ABOVE. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES,
LOSS OF PROFIT OR MEDICAL EXPENSES CAUSED BY ANY DEFECT, FAILURE, MISUSE OR MALFUNCTION OF THIS PRODUCT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so these limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. The Company will not
be responsible for damages or losses, direct or indirect, caused by misuse, abuse, accident, negligence, product alteration, connecting to an improper electrical supply, acts of
God, conditions of transportation or storage, or failure to follow instructions. The Company will not be responsible for any statements that are made or published, written or
oral, that are inconsistent with this written warranty, or which are misleading or inconsistent with the facts as published in the literature or specifications by the company.
WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE: Any product that proves to be defective within
the warranty period must be delivered to the nearest Thermal Wave Warranty Service
Center or to the address below. All transportation charges are the responsibility of the
consumer. A copy of the original receipt must accompany all warranty claims.
