Electric water heater WABO Thermal Technology® is a high-tech product with low

power consumption, due to the heater made of carbon fiber resistors and partialization

of the power load.

The device is managed by an electrical controller, equipped with two probes located in

the upper and lower part of the tank, for permanent detection and control of the water

temperature. The following user and maintenance instructions have the aim to help

You with correct installation and maintenance of the water heater, so we ask You to

read it carefully and contact the assistance centre, if necessary.

1. Premises

The present user and maintenance instructions for Thermal Technology® water heater

is a basic instrument for its correct utilization. Keep it in a dry and protected place for

future reference.

2. Warnings

Hydraulic Safety Unit : “As stated in the Circular of the Ministry of Industry of 26.03.2003

No 9571 the correct installation of storage water heaters for household and similar

appliances shall include a hydraulic safety unit according to UNI EN 1487: 2002 which

includes an interception tap, a check valve, a control device for the check valve, a safety

valve, a breaking device for the hydraulic load.”

This equipment must be used for the purpose for which it was intended. Any contractual

liability or extra- contractual liability of the manufacturer for damages caused to people,

animals or things due to an improper installation, adjustment, maintenance or improper

use of this device is excluded.

Manufacturer’s liability is excluded for all damage to persons or property as a result

of a risk clear to the user, avoidable by taking the appropriate security measures.

After unpacking, check the contents. If you have any doubt, do not use the appliance

and contact the supplier. To guarantee the efficiency of the appliance and its proper

functioning it is essential that the periodic maintenance is carried out by qualified

personnel, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Any device’s repairing should

be carried out using only genuine parts.

5. Installation cautions

Before starting the installation of your electric WABO Thermal
Technology® make the following checks:

1. verify that there are no components damaged during transport;

2. the voltage of your installation must correspond to the voltage indicated on the plate
with technical data of the boiler;

3. your electrical grid must support the electric power indicated on the boiler’s plate.

6. Installation and connection

The assembly and connection must be performed by specialized personnel which must
follow the directions mentioned below. Two L screws for wall support must be placed
on the wall, capable of supporting a weight of at least 120 kg.
The position of the fixing screws is calculated considering the final position of the boiler
on its support. After the boiler is hooked, adjust the inclination by acting the relevant
spacer.

7. Warnings

• Incorrect installation can cause damage to persons and property;

• The water connection must be made with fittings or pipes resistant not only to

pressure but also to the hot water temperature;

• Do not mount the product with a different orientation from that indicated;

• The device is designed to be used exclusively indoors;

• For better performance the distance between the boiler and the final output of hot

water should be as small as possible;

• The use of the device by children or unexperienced persons is forbidden;

• Do not touch the device with wet or humid body parts;Presiunea maxima a rezervorului

• The maximum tank pressure is 6 bar.

• Be careful when fixing the fitings to hot and cold water connections, as they do not

have a high tensile strength.

• This product complies with the applicable safety standards. If it show defects, stop

using it and have it checked by the manufacturer.

• If the device is licking water, it must be switched off and controlled by qualified

personnel that can perform the checking and repairing;

• Faulty repairs or performed by unqualified personnel can cause risks to persons or

and invalidate the warranty .

• The higher the temperature of the room where you instal WABO is, the lower power

consumption you’ll need;

• Above and below the unit must be left sufficient space for maintenance.

• Do not install in humid and unventilated places;

• Do not install in areas where there may be temperatures below zero;

• Do not leave it exposed to the rain,wind or any weather agents;

• Do not install the product on power lines without protection from surges or variations;

• For the safety of the device is necessary to provide a bipolar switch (contacts at least

3 mm);

• Do not install the product on power lines without differential circuit breaker;

• It is mandatory to connect the device to the ground;

• Make sure the wall mount can support the weight of the product and its water content;

• The hydraulic connection requires the connecting of a drain cock and a valve for

excessive pressure (8 bar) on the cold water manifold;

• It is recommended the providing of a drain able to eliminate the water on the exit of

the valve.

• Before plugging the device fill the tank and check if there are eventually water leaks;

• For a better and more rational exploitation of Carbon Boiler we recommend the

installation of a thermostatic valve for manual adjustment of the water temperature
at exit;

• We recommend installing a device to compensate for the increased volume of heated

water (expansion vessel);

• We also recommend the installation of an input pressure regulator group and a water

treatment system.

The electric water heater WABO by Thermal Technology ® is an electric device and
therefore it must not have contact with water. If power cable is damaged it must be
replaced by manufacturer or by its technical service or by specialised personnel.
If installed in a bathroom, the boiler
must be installed so that switches
and other control devices can not
be touched by a person who is in
the bath or shower. If installed near
a bathtub, a shower or a sink must
be respected the standard distances
that are normally at least 60 cm
from the various edges.

THE INSTALLATION IN AREA 0, AREA 1 OR AREA 2 IS FORBIDDEN (see PIC.1).

8. First activation

• Check the hydraulic connection to be made according regulation in force.

• Before powering the device fill the Carbon Boiler by opening the hot water tap;

• Check the functional capacity of the safety group;

• Set the desired temperature on the control unit according to the instructions below

(See nr. 8).

• Supervise the first heating cycle;

• In the case of thermostatic valve installation: we recommend to turn its knob

clockwise until it stops and then counterclockwise around 180°, doing so the outlet
water temperature will be about 36°C.

9. User instructions

The device is equipped with electronic control unit. The unit allows maintaining water
temperature at the desired level, setting two daily time slots for adjusting the water
temperature and turning off the heating. It’s indicated to use the daily timeslots to
adjust the temperature alone, it is not recommended to turn off the heater, it is better
to reduce the set temperature.

9.a Electronic controller

Control unit is equipped with:

• 4 keys:

ON turns ON/OFF the boiler manually
PAR access to different parameters
+/- menu navigation and changing the values

• Signalisation led:

• Lighting permanently reports heating at full regime

flashing ( 1sec on 1 sec off ) reports heating attenuation
flashing ( 1sec on 2 sec off ) means heat deactivated or temperature reached.
permanently off means heating is not active because the boiler is turned off, or it
reached the desired temperature.

• A four digit display which during normal operation indicates ciclically:

12:06 current time.

H 60°C tank temperature upper probe.
L 58°C tank temperature lower probe.

ON / OFF current status (On/Off) *

S. 19°C setpoint temperature (visible if the boiler is ON).
*When the display indicates status ON, in the right corner could appear from 0 to 3

horisontal lines which reppresent the number of enabled outputs:
one line: 650W
two lines:1370W
three lines: 1540W (data referring to model NTA_75LT)

ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION OF THE BOILER:

Hold key pressed for a few seconds, if the device is off it will turn on and the

control panel will indicate OFF, if the device is off, it will turn on and the display will

indicate ON.

TEMPERATURE SETTING:

Press the display will indicate PAR, then press the keys or buttons,

until the warding TEMP, is indicate, press the button to enter temperature

parameter settins, the display will indicate S. 65°C, flashing, press or keys

to set the desired temperature and the accumulated water and the key for

confirmation and key for exit without confirmation the change.

TIME SETTING:

Press key, the display will indicate the warding PAR, press the button or

until the display will indicate the warding OROL press key to enter time parameters

settings, the display will indicate time, for ex. :14:55 flashing, press for hour modification,

and key for minutes setting. Once finished the setting press the confirmation key

or key for exit, without confirmation the modification.

PLUS OPTION SETTINGS:

Press key, the display will indicate the warding PAR, press the or keys

until the display will indicate the warding press the key to enter the settings of

the parameter, the display will indicate ON or OFF flashing, press the or to

make the setting, weather the function plus is active (ON) or not OFF.

Press for confirmation or for exit without confirmation the change.

CLOCK TIMER SETTING:

The controller allows setting of maximum 2 operating intervals, for each of them it is

possible to choose the desired temperature. Press key, the display will show PAR,

press or key until the display will show the wording CRONO press the key

to enter. By pressing and the display will indicate:

ON 1 setting switch on time for interval 1

TMP 1 setting the desired temperature for interval 1

OFF 1 setting switch time for interval 1

ON 2 setting switch on time for interval 2

TMP 2 setting the desired temperature for interval 2

OFF 2 setting switch off time for interval 2

Press key to access the parameter and set it.

To remove an operation interval, modify the hour until the display will indicate --:--

flashing.

EXAMPLE:

Setting interval 1, starting at 06:00 and finishing at 08:15 with a set point temperature of 65°C.

Press key, the display will indicate the wording PAR, press or until the

display will indicate the wording CRONO press the key to enter.

The display will indicate ON 1, press key .

The display will indicate the wording --:-- flashing or the activation time set before.

Press the or to set the activation time until you see 06:00, then press key,

the display will indicate TMP 1, press the button the display will indicate S.60°C

flashing. Using the keys or set the temperature S. 65°C and press key.

The display will indicate the wording OFF 1 press key. The display shows --:--

flashing or activation hour set before.

Using the keys or set the activation hour 08:15 and press key.

The display will show the warding ON 2 press the button to exit.

INTERVAL DEACTIVATION

Press the key until the display shows the wording PAR, press the or

buttons until the display shows CRONO, then press the key to enter.

The display will show the warding ON 1, press the key. The display will indicate

the symbol --:-- or the previous hour of activation. Press the button for modification the

time until the display indicates --:-- . Press the key for confirmation or for exit.

10. Maintenance

Before performing any type of maintenance or any other non regular action, turn off the

device by disconnecting the plug from the outlet and wait until the heating elements will

be cooled. It is reccomended the cleaning of the tank at least each two years (depending

on the water hardness). Magnesium anode must be replaced each 2 years.

11. Protection against limestone

Presidential decree of 2nd April 2009 entered in force 25th of June 2009, made

compulsory the instalation of water softening systems (if limestone concentration in

water is high), in order to protect hot water production devices of the house.

The obligation does not affect all houses, but exclusively those where the temporary

water hardness is equal or superior to 25 french degrees (heating systems) and to 15

french degrees (hot water systems).

Water hardness is generally expressed in french degrees (°f, do not confuse with °F,

which are Fahrenheit degrees), where one degree represents 10 mg of calciumcarbonate

for a litre of water. Presently, it is used also MEC degree, corresponding to 1g calcium

carbonate in 100 l and is therefore equal to to a french degree. Generally, the waters are

classified basing on their hardness as following:

• < 7°f: very soft

• from 7°f to 14°f: soft

• from 4°f to 22°f: average hard

• from 22°f to 32°f: moderately hard

• from 32°f to 54°f: hard

• > 54°f: very hard

Temporary hardness represents the situation when the salts rest insoluble even when the

water reaches boiling point.This is happening due to presence of calcium bicarbonates

and magnesium in the water. In the same city, the water hardness can vary depending

on the area, basing on the withdrawal sources of the supplie company. Therefore, it is

reccomended to consult supplier (or check its web site) in order to find out hardness

level of the water in each area. In order to measure it, you can use appropriate reusable

kits, affordable in plumbing stores. Failure to apply these measures or non-complyance

to the UNI8065 norms will nullify the warranty.

12. Protection against frost

If the device stays unused in areas where the risk of frost is present, it is necessary to

empty the water in order to prevent the breaking of the WABO.

13. Legionella risk prevention

A thermal disinfection to prevent the risk of Legionella is sufficient, that is the water

temperature in Wabo is brought to 60 ° C for for at least 5 minutes every 30 days. For

this reason the electronic control unit is programmed to automatically bring the water

temperature to 65 ° C for 5 minutes every 720 hours and then return to the normal

programming. Every 720 hours automatic cycle for Legionella prevention.

14. Product recycling

Electrical boiler WABO produced by Thermal Technology® is electronic equipment

and therefore it is disposed separately. At the end of the life period of the equipment,

deliver the product to the appropriate collection centers located in each communal

administration, or to the retailers which offer such services. You also have the

opportunity to return the equipment to the distributor when purchasing a new one.

Bear in mind the interdiction of casting the product as municipal waste, you will find

under the product’s identification plate the following mark (crossed bin).

Differential casting of electric and electronic equipment is very important in order

to avoid negative consequences on the environment caused by some substances

contained in the devices; differential casting consists also of recycling some materials

bringing a contribution to the electric energy and natural resources savings.

15. Conformity

This product is manufactured in conformity with the electrical safety

standards set by Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. This product is in

conformity with Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU,

concerning the standards for electromagnetic emissions.

16. Warranty

Thermal Technology products, manufactured by Carbon Fiber Heating srl benefit of

Legal Warranty, established by 1999/44/CE Directive and Commercial Warranty for

proper functioning and/or use for entrepreneurial or professional activity.

Thermal Technology by Carbon Fiber Heating srl extends the Warranty for its products,

category:

ELECTRICAL WATER HEATER WABO

for a period of

5 (FIVE) YEARS

for the product, starting with acquisition date.

The warranty conditions are exclusively those presented in “FREE CONVENTIONAL/

COMMERCIAL WARRANTY”, downloadable from our website (section “Download

-Warranty”).

In order to benefit of warranty extension it is necessary to register the purchased

product during 30 (thirty) days, starting with purchase date, on our website (section

“Contacts - Product registration”)

After finalized the registration of the requested data, we will process with product

serial code control and after that, you will receive the registration module and warranty

extension.

The request for product replacement will be sent using the downloadable module,

which can be accessed on our website (section “Download - Request for repair.”)
