Summary: Erratic Pilot arc under 0
Valued Thermadyne Service Provider, It was brought to our attention that the Cutmaster True Series may experience “Erratic Pilot arc issues” when operating
in temperatures “Below
0OC (32OF)”.
C (32OF)
To address this concern Thermal Dynamics has made a modification in the main PCB that will allow the unit to expand its Operating Temperature Range at the low end: -10
“ This enhancement is being addressed in the Main PCB revision change to AN02 “
Please contact cases where the unit has the erratic arc symptom under cold conditions. We estimate that it will take a service person approximately 1.5 – 2 hours to replace the main PCB
Important Notes:
9 The Duty Cycle for the units is still rated @ 40 9 Excessive moisture from the air compressor, can cause decreased transfer height or it may cause the pilot arc to
become weak or intermittent, or it may prevent the pilot arc from starting at all. This situation can negatively be magnified if the moisture from the air compressor condensates and freezes
solenoid, hoses, etc). Please verify that your air compressor delivers dry and clean air, check your operating manual for recommendations on the use of external air filters.
