Safety Instructions
To maximize user safety and ensure correct device operation, all instructions contained in this section should be read carefully.
Caution: It is important that the user observe all warnings and instructions that are on the device and contained in this manual.
The device must be used in accordance with the instructions for use.
Electrical installations in the room must correspond to the requirements of respective regulations.
Take care that there are no cables, particularly mains cables, in areas where persons can trip over them.
Do not use a mains connection in sockets shared by a number of other power consumers. Do not use an extension cable.
Only use the mains cable supplied.
The unit is completely disconnected from the power source only when the power cord is disconnected from the power source. Therefore the power cord and its connectors must always remain easily accessible.
Do not set up the device in the proximity of heat sources or in a damp location. Make sure the device has adequate ventilation.
All connection cables must be screwed or locked to the chassis housing.
The device is no longer safe to operate when — the device has visible damage or — the device no longer functions.
In these cases, the device must be shut down and secured against unintentional operation.
Repairs may only be carried out by a person authorized by Themis Computer.
The device may only be opened for the installation and removal of extension (PCI) cards, memory modules, storage drives, fan housings, power supplies, and the lithium battery—all in accordance with the instructions given in this and correlating manuals.
iv
Themis Computer
If extensions are made to the device, the legal stipulations and the device specifications must be observed.
The device must be switched off when removing the top cover; for example, before installing extension (PCI) cards.
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
A sudden discharge of electrostatic electricity can destroy static-sensitive devices or micro-circuitry. Proper packaging and grounding techniques are necessary precautions to prevent damage. Always take the following precautions:
1. Transport boards in static-safe containers such as boxes or bags.
2. Keep electrostatic-sensitive parts in their containers until they arrive at static-
free stations.
3. Always be properly grounded when touching a sensitive board, component, or
assembly.
T2GPX XMC Graphics Card Installation Manual
4. Store electrostatic-sensitive boards in protective packaging or on conductive
foam.
Grounding Methods
Guard against electrostatic damage at workstations by following these steps:
1. Cover workstations with approved anti-static material. Provide a wrist strap
connected to a work surface and properly grounded tools and equipment.
2. Use anti-static mats, heel straps, or air ionizers to give added protection.
3. Handle electrostatic-sensitive components, boards, and assemblies by the case
or the PCB edge.
4. Avoid contact with pins, leads, or circuitry.
5. Turn off power and input signals before inserting and removing connectors or
test equipment.
6. Keep the work area free of non-conductive materials such as ordinary plastic as-
sembly aids and Styrofoam.
7. Use field service tools, such as cutters, screwdrivers, and vacuums that are con-
ductive.
Themis Computer

The T2GPX screen resolution is only limited to the capability of the monitor it is connected to, up to a maximum screen resolution of 3840x2400 per display output.
Note: Not all resolutions are supported by all monitors. Maximum screen resolution is achievable as long as available memory and interface bandwidth are not oversubscribed, and is supported by the monitor . Please refer to the manufacturers documentation regarding your monitors resolution capabilities.
1.2.1 T2GPX Display Features
The T2GPX XMC Graphics Card hosts a number of display features including:
• Dual independent display controllers that support true 30-bpp (bits per pixel i.e., color depth) throughout the display pipe.
• Advanced video capabilities, including high fidelity gamma, color correction and scaling.
• Adaptive per-pixel de-interlacing and frame rate conversion (temporal filtering).
• Enhanced dithering algorithm for LCD panels.
• Full RMX for sources up to 2560 pixels/line.

Themis Computer
To install theT2GPX XMC Graphics Card, follow these steps:
1. Remove the blank PMC/XMC faceplate or existing card from the XMC mod-
ule slot on the host system board (see Figure 2-1 on page 2-2).
2. Insert the T2GPX into the XMC-card opening with the proper orientation and
align the XMC connector with the mating connector on the host board.
3. Press the XMC connector into the mating host-PCB connector until the
T2GPX is firmly seated.
4. To secure the T2GPX to the host PCB, use two threaded standoffs on the
T2GPX (see Figure 2-2, page 2-2) and attach to the two mounting holes (see Figure 2-1) on the host PCB with two M2.5x5mm panhead screws.
Attach the two threaded standoffs to the host PCB with the two screws. Important: If your T2GPX card is being installed into a system that has
standoffs already attached to the host PCB, the T2GPX standoffs should be removed. All necessary hardware will be provided with the order.

This LED indicates normal operating temperatures.
This LED indicates temperatures exceeding normal parameters but still under the critical temperature.
Both LEDs on indicate critical temperature and requires immediate action to prevent system damage.
Both LEDs off indicate an invalid condition. Possible causes being: card is not receiving power, card is not operating correctly. Contact Themis customer support for help.

Appendix
Solder Beads
This appendix provides solder-bead locations and configurations for the T2GPX XMC Graphics Card. Solder beads are considered “factory-configurable” and must not be altered by the user. If a solder bead requires reconfiguration, contact Themis Customer Service.
Warning: Solder beads are set by Themis at the factory. Attempting to alter a solder-bead configuration could seriously damage the T2GPX XMC Graphics Card. If you encounter a problem, contact Themis Customer Support.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ALTER SOLDER-BEAD CONFIGURATIONS.
B.1 Factory-Configurable Solder Beads
B.1.1 T2GPX XMC Graphics Card Solder Beads
Solder beads are only found on the bottom side of the T2GPX XMC Graphics Card. All solder beads are described in Table B-1 on page B-2.
In Table B-1, Short means a solder bead is installed, creating an electrical path between two contacts. Open means no solder bead is installed, hence the path between the contacts is open.

B-1
T2GPX XMC Graphics Card Installation Manual Version 1.0
Figure B-1, page B-4, shows the location of all bottom-side solder beads on the T2GPX XMC Graphics Card and their default setting.
Table B-1 is arranged in groups by functionality, and all solder beads within each specific functionality will be listed in numerical order.
Caution: When dealing with a 3-pin solder-bead switch, a solder bead will short only one set of pins, either 1–2 or 2–3.
If a solder bead shorts more than 2 pins, call Themis Customer Support.
