Paper Jams:
The CC1610 is equipped with a motor overload/overheat protection device and the power may terminate automatically in case of the following situations:
1. Operating the shredder at maximum capacity continuously for a prolonged period of time, e.g. more than 2 minutes duty cycle without stopping.
2. Exceeding the shredding capacity e.g. inserting more than 12 sheets at one time, or if the paper is not fed squarely into the feed slot.
Both of these operations may result in the activation of the automatic motor overload protection, which terminates the power to the unit. If this occurs, you should either:
1 . Press the reverse button and remove any excess paper, now press the forward button, this should then clear the paper jam. If the paper is still jammed in the blades then alternately press the forward and reverse buttons 2-3 times, the paper jam should now be cleared.
OR
2 If the Shredder does not work then you need to unplug the power cord from the AC outlet and wait at least 30 minutes for the overload protection to reset.
3 After 30 mins, plug the power cord back into the AC outlet and press the power button, so the red ready light comes on. Any paper still in the shredder should automatically be shredded, if not follow the above instructions in point 1.
Clearing the Blades of Paper Jams
If paper becomes jammed during shredding, press the reverse button and remove any excess paper from the feed slot, press the forward button, this should clear the paper jam.. If paper is still jammed then press the forward and reverse buttons alternately, 2-3 times, which should then finally clear the paper jam.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INSERT METAL OBJECTS INTO THE ENTRY FEED SLOT OR THE BLADES, TO REMOVE THE JAMMED PAPER.
