SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Keep electrical equipment out of reach of children
Never allow children to use electrical devices unsupervised.
If swallowed, batteries may endanger life. For this reason, keep the unit and batteries out of reach of children. If a battery is swallowed, please obtain immediate medical assistance.
Keep plastic packaging out of the reach of children. There is a risk of asphyxiation!
Environmental conditions
Always ensure that
when in operation, the mains supply unit never
comes into contact with water, or even moisture,
no water-filled vessels (e.g. vases) are to be placed
near unit or Power supply,
the unit is not exposed to strong, direct sunlight,naked flames such as lit candles, are not placed
on or
near the device,
there is adequate ventilation.

AFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure that the mains power outlet is easily accessible.
Connect the AC Adaptor to an outlet (240 V ~ 50 Hz) that is easy to reach and is close to the place where you have set the unit up. The power socket must be freely accessible so that you can unplug the device quickly if you should need to.
Never do your own repairs.
If the AC Adaptor, cable or device is damaged pull the plug immediately from the mains outlet.
Never try to open and/or repair the device or the AC Adaptor yourself. There is a risk of electric shock. If there is a defect, contact the MEDION Help desk on 1300 884 987.
Storms
Pull the AC Adaptor from the mains outlet if you are away for a long period or if there is a storm.
Using batteries
Never attempt to recharge batteries. Danger of explosion!
Keep batteries out of reach of children, do not throw them into the fire, short-circuit them or pull them apart.
When inserting, pay attention to the correct polarity.
If necessary, clean batteries and contacts before insertion.
Remove dead batteries from the unit without delay. Danger of leakage!
Always change all batteries at the same time.
Only use batteries of the same type, do not mix battery.
Never use new and used batteries together
Do not expose batteries to extreme conditions, e.g. on radiators. Danger of leakage!
If the above warnings are not observed, batteries can be discharged beyond their end voltage and begin to leak. Remove batteries at once to avoid damage.

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact with battery acid, irrigate the affected areas at once with copious of clear water and visit a doctor without delay.
If not used for a long period, remove batteries from the unit.
Ensure that you switch your receiver off after use.
Cleaning the unit
Before cleaning, pull the AC Adaptor from the mains outlet. Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the unit. Avoid the use of chemical solutions and cleaning products because these may damage the unit's surface and/or labels.
WHAT IS A PLL TUNER?
A PLL (phase-locked loop) tuner uses a crystal to stabilise the reception frequency. With a PLL tuner, the exact frequency of a station can be selected and stored, which gives constant reception quality of radio stations.

Unpacking the device
Remove all packing materials.
WARNING! Do not let children play with plastic film. There is a risk of asphyxiation!
Always ensure that
the AC Adaptor never comes into contact with water,
or even moisture,
the supply unit is not exposed to strong, direct
sunlight.
Power connection
` Insert the power supply cable connector in the DC-
6V socket on the unit.
` Insert the AC Adaptor in a readily accessible mains
outlet. To avoid the risk of tripping, please avoid using extension cables.
Do not use any mains adapter other than the AC Adaptor provided, Model T35820-24A, as damage to the receiver or adapter can otherwise result.
When the receiver is connected, the clock starts at
0:00 00.

Mains and battery operation
When you disconnect the receiver from the mains, any settings that may have been made (time, alarm time, stations) will be lost. If you wish to keep the settings, insert batteries first (see below) and then disconnect from the mains.
Inserting batteries
Instead of running it from the mains, you can operate your receiver from batteries. You will need four
1.5 V mignon batteries, size AA, LR6.
` Open the battery compartment on the rear of the
receiver by pushing the cover downwards.
` Insert four batteries, paying attention to the polarity
(negative end to the spring), in the compartment.
` Replace the battery compartment cover.
When the batteries are too low, this is indicted by a blinking symbol in the display.
Dealing with batteries
When operating the receiver from the mains, take out the batteries.
Change all the batteries at once; do not mix old and
new batteries.

Connecting earphones
The earphones connection is on the left side of the receiver .
` Use this to connect the earphones supplied or
another set of ear/headphones with a 3.5 mm jack plug.
The loudspeaker will be automatically switched off.
WARNING! Before putting on the earphones set the volume to minimum!
