Points which should be ob
-
served when handling the unit.
Safety notes
Danger
Risk of electric shock!
Faulty installation of electri
-
cal equipment or mains voltage which is too high can cause electric shocks.
• The unit is suitable for use with a pow-
er supply voltage of 230 V~/50 Hz.
• If the unit’s case or mains cable is de-
fective or shows other signs of visible damage, disconnect the power plug immediately and do not operate the unit.
• If the unit emits smoke or smells of burn-
ing or other unusual odours, disconnect it immediately from the power supply and do not operate it.
• The On/Standby button does not dis-
connect the device from the mains. Therefore, set up the device so that the mains plug is easily accessible.
• Never open the unit’s housing. Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop. Only parts which conform with the original unit specifications may be used in this case. There are electrical and mechan
ical parts in this unit which are necessary in order to avoid exposure to sources of danger.
• Use only accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• Do not insert any objects in the case openings.
• Only use the unit in indoor areas.
• Do not operate the unit in damp are

Danger to hearing!
Extended listening at high vol

umes may lead to hearing loss. There is a potential risk of sudden very high noise pressure especially when activating the device which is set to full volume. This may have psychological consequences and also cause physical injury. Children and pets are particularly at risk.
• Set your signal source unit volume con-

• When the volume is set high, always
keep a certain distance from the unit and never place your ear directly on the speaker.

Use the volume buttons 1 and 3 to adjust the volume on the iTeufel® Air Blue. Increasing the volume: Push the + 3 button Decreasing the volume: Push the — 1 button
In the event of playback via Bluetooth or the Line In 5 input, you also have to adjust the volume on the source device.

Audio input
You can connect almost any audio source to the 3.5 mm Line In 5 jack plug such as a computer, MP3 player (with/without a dock), video game system, television etc. The source device must have an output with a line control. This kind of output is either a stereo RCA jack or a 3.5 mm jack plug. Use a corresponding connector cable to connect these devices to the Line In 5 jack. You can obtain suitable connector cables from our webshop in the “Accessories” area. Once the iTeufel® Air Blue activates, playback will begin automatically after a few seconds. Please note that music being played back via the wireless systems has priority over line input.

Care and cleaning
Protecting the environment
Clean the device regularly with a soft, damp microfibre cloth Please be absolutely sure to observe the following notes in the process:
Danger
Risk of electric shock!
In contact with live parts, wa
-
ter can lead to electric shock or
short circuit.
• Make sure that no liquids penetrate the unit.
• Before cleaning, always disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
Attention
Risk of damage!
Using the wrong cleaning agent may damage the sensi
-
tive surface of the case.
• If possible, only use plain water without any additives. A mild soapy solution is ideal for removing stubborn spots.
• Do not in any case use aggressive cleaning agents, spirits, thinner, petrol or the like for cleaning.
Disposal of the unit
Used units must not be disposed of with household waste!
If the unit is no longer opera-
tional, every consumer is required by law to dispose of used units separately from household waste, e.g.
at a collection point run by the commu
nal authority/borough. In this way it is ensured, that used units are properly recycled and that negative consequences on the environment are avoided. For this reason, electrical equipment is marked with the following symbol.
