Setting up the speakers
The following data concern an "ideal home cinema", in
which the viewer or listener sits in a central position at a
suffi cient distance in front of the television or screen (see
the adjacent graphic) and no objects (tables or the like)
are located in between. Unfortunately, the room, furnishings or one’s partner do not always allow for optimum
arrangement.
The following general rule applies: You can always
experiment on what works best in your listening room in
terms of sound and appearance based on our recommendations. Let your ears (and eyes) be the judge!
Center speakers
Place the center speaker on its support foot in an intermediate position directly under the monitor or screen.
Front speakers
The front speakers are set up to the right and left of the
screen or hung at a height of approx. 40 to 120 cm. They
should be in line with the center speaker and form an
equilateral triangle with the listener – the so-called stereo
triangle (distance from the listener = distance between the
speakers). The speakers should project sound directly into
the room or slightly towards the listener.
Rear speakers
The rear speakers should be set up or hung at head
level (140 to 210 cm) to the side of the listener and point
towards the listener. The distance to the listener should be
at least 100 cm and 10 cm to the back wall of the room.
You can also place the rear speakers behind the listener
at head level and point them towards the screen.

Connecting the speakers
To connect the speakers, use the enclosed cables if
possible or equivalent, two-core speaker cable with a
diameter of at least 1 mm2. You can order these cables in
our webshop (www.teufelaudio.com) in the "Accessories"
area.
Antennas
Danger
Risk associated with lightning strike!
If you are using outdoor or roof antennas, be
absolutely sure that the antenna has lightning
protection.
The coloured connector terminals 16 "Speakers" for the
six speakers are located on the back of the receiver:
The speaker connector terminals and the enclosed speaker
cables have the same colour.
Make sure the polarity is correct!
Connect the respective terminals with the like
colour. Otherwise the sound quality will suffer.
Now push down the respective connector
terminal lever and run the cable end into the
corresponding opening. Releasing the lever
locks the cable in place.
FM antenna
Connect the antenna for receiving FM stations to the jack
23 "FM ANT". This may be a roof/outdoor antenna or
a cable television connection. You will need a coaxial
cable for this.
If an antenna connection is not available at your setup
location, you can use the enclosed throw-out aerial 햹.
Insert the antenna plug into the jack 23 "FM ANT" and
adjust the position of the throw-out aerial until you have
the best possible reception. Then fi x the antenna in place
with tape or a nail.
AM antenna
The enclosed antenna 햸 is intended for receiving
medium-wave stations (AM). You can setup this antenna
to be freestanding or screw it onto a (cabinet) wall.
햸
Connect the connector cable of the antenna with the
jacks 22 "AM ANT" on the back of the receiver. Depress
each lever of the connector terminal and insert the cable
end in the opening. Releasing the lever secures the cable
in place.

Burned BDs/CDs/DVDs are normally readable. •
However, an excessively high burning speed or "lowquality" blank CDs may cause problems in this respect.
Unfortunately, the only solution here is trial and error.
CDs that are produced for industrial use cannot always •
be read.
Handling BDs/DVDs/CDs
Each BD/DVD/CD is encased in a resistant plastic layer
that protects it against external infl uences. However, you
must always protect the disc against dirt and scratches.
Your receiver can compensate small fl aws on the BD/

Your new DVD receiver can read USB memory sticks with
the specifi cations USB 1.0 and 2.0 with a capacity of up
to 8 gigabytes and play back music fi les in MP3 format
and photos in JPEG format that are saved on it.
USB stands for "universal serial bus". Every modern
computer has a USB port for connecting a keyboard and
mouse. USB storage sticks were originally developed as
an alternative to computer diskettes and enable convenient data transport. These convenient sticks can now
also be used with digital cameras and music playback
devices.
Handling mobile storage devices
USB sticks are sensitive electronic devices and must
therefore be handled with care. If you are not using your
storage device, be absolutely sure to store it in its protective sleeve or have its protective cap on.
Important
Do not use any storage devices that exhibit
mechanical damages or have fallen in a liquid.
Do not subject the storage devices to direct sunlight. Im-
proper use may result in data loss! To the extent possible,
backup your music on your PC.
