Risk of electrical shock Do not open the housing.
Old devices must not be disposed of with household waste!
If the device is no longer operational, every consumer is required by law to dispose of old devices separately from household waste, e.g. at a collection point run by the communal authority/borough. This ensures that old devices are recycled in a professional manner and also rules out negative consequences for the environment.
For this reason, electrical equipment is marked with the adjacent symbol.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste!
Every consumer is required by law to bring all batteries and rechargeable batteries, regardless whether they contain harmful substances*) or not, to a collection point run by the communal authority or borough or to a retailer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
Please only turn in batteries and rechargeable batteries which are empty!

a mains voltage of 100 – 240 V, 50/60Hz. When connecting the device, make sure that the correct voltage is present. You can find more information in this respect on the nameplate.
– Check the device regularly for damage.
Immediately disconnect the mains plug and do not operate the device if
its housing, mains adapter or mains cord is defective or exhibits other visible damages.
– If the mains cord is damaged, re-
place it with an equivalent one.
– This device is disconnected from the
grid by pulling the mains plug. Thus, make sure that the mains plug is always easily accessible.
– If the device emits smoke, smells
burnt or produces unusual sounds, immediately disconnect it from the mains and do not operate it further.
– Never open the device housing.
Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop. In the process, only parts that correspond to the original device data may be used.
– Only use the accessory products
specified by the manufacturer.
– Only use the device in indoor areas.
– Do not operate the device in wet
rooms and protect it from dripping and splash water. Make sure that no vases or other vessels filled with liquid are located on the device or nearby in order to prevent liquid from penetrating the housing. If water or other foreign objects should enter the unit, immediately disconnect the mains plug. Then send the device to our service address.

ARC (Audio Return Channel)
In case of a HDMI connection, this channel provides a return channel for audio data from the TV set (for TV sets that support this function). This makes it possible for audio to be transmitted from the TV set to the CoreStation Compact without the need for another cable when a TV signal is being received.
With many TV sets, the internal speakers are switched off as soon as the CoreStation Compact plays back the TV audio.
With some TV sets, you have to activate these function separately in the menu – please refer to the user manual for your TV set.
With many TV sets, the ARC function is only supported by one HDMI connection. In most cases, it is labelled with “ARC”.
If your TV set does not support the function ARC via CEC, please observe the notes regarding ARC in the chapter TV set without ARC“ on page 18.
CEC (Consumer Electronics Control)
This function makes it possible to control devices via the HDMI connection. The CoreStation Compact together with the TV set is switched on and to standby with this function. With many TV sets, you can also adjust the volume of the CoreStation Compact with the remote control of your TV set.

Setup / Mounting
NOTICE
If the device is subjected to warm temperatures after being cold (e.g. after transport), condensation may occur inside of it.
– In this case, wait approx. 2
hours before you connect and activate it.
Setup location
You can set up the CoreStation Compact so that it is concealed as it is controlled by the TV set via HDMI and the
remote control operates wirelessly. When setting the device up in a cabinet, make sure that it is adequately ventilated and aerated to prevent the CoreStation Compact from overheating.
Location tips
– Select a stable, level base whose
carrying capacity is sufficient for the CoreStation Compact and TV set.
– Make sure that the environment is
clean and free from dust.
– Select a location away from heat
sources and direct sunlight.
– Lay the connector cords so that they
do not pose a tripping hazard.
– Do not place any heavy objects on
the cables.
Mounting behind a TV set
You can also mount the CoreStation Compact behind a suitable flat screen TV using the enclosed mounting brackets :
• The TV set must be in a stable position and must not be secured with a wall bracket.
• It must be prepared for a wall bracket in accordance with VESA. Such TV sets have a stable mounting frame behind the rear panel where you can only see the screw holes on the outside. Please refer to the user manual for your TV set in this respect.
You will also need two or four screws that fit the VESA holder on your TV set. For this, be absolutely sure to observe the notes in the user manual of your TV set. These screws must not be too long and are not part of the product contents of the CoreStation Compact.
Page 11
11
• CoreStation Compact
1. Use the enclosed four countersunk
screws to fasten the two mounting brackets 햴 onto the bottom of the CoreStation Compact as shown in the figure.
2. Depending on the spacing of the up- per VESA mounting points on your TV set, mount the CoreStation Compact crosswise (with the connections facing down) or upright (with the connections to the left or right).
3. Begin by only screwing the top of the CoreStation Compact into place.
4. If the bottom bore holes of the mounting brackets 햴 match up with the bottom VESA mounting points, screw the CoreStation Compact into place on the bottom as well. Otherwise, it is sufficient if the CoreStation Compact is secured along the top with two screws.

Cleaning & Maintenance
NOTICE
External influences may damage or destroy the device.
– If the device is to be left unat-
tended for a prolonged period of time (e.g. during a vacation) or if a thunderstorm is forecast, pull the mains plug out of the socket. Otherwise, sudden overvoltage could cause a defect.
– If possible, only use plain
water without any additives. In case of stubborn marks, a mild soap solution may be used.
– Do not use caustic cleaning
products, white spirit, thinners, petrol or similar under any circumstances. Such cleaning agents may damage the delicate surface of the housing.
– Ideally, you should remove dust or
small amounts of dirt with a dry, smooth leather cloth.
– Use a damp cloth to rub off stubborn
dirt. Make sure that no liquid penetrates the housing.
– Then immediately wipe the damp
surfaces off with a soft cloth without applying pressure.

Problem Possible cause Solution
The subwoofer hums.
The CoreStation Compact is connected to a different power circuit from the rest of the system.
Connect the CoreStation Compact to the same power circuit.
The humming is caused by problems with the power supply.
Buy a line filter and connect all devices to it.
The humming is caused by a multiple socket strip.
Use a different multiple socket strip or connect the CoreStation Compact directly to the wall socket.
Playback is noisy.
Generally speaking, the CoreStation Compact is a very low-noise system. The device with very high resolution in the high range area can expose the poor quality of a signal source (e.g. from MP3 files).
Make sure that the external player emits a clear signal to the CoreStation Compact.
