12 year warranty for speakers and 2 year warranty for
ampliers and electronic equipment from date of purchase covers materials and workmanship, excludes damage caused by improper use or electrical or mechanical
overload. Proof of warranty is the original of our invoice.
This warranty applies solely to speakers, ampliers and
electronics purchased from Teufel by an end user for
private use. The warranty is not valid for speakers, ampli-
ers and electronics which pass to an end user via a third
party merchant. In the case of a private re-sale of Teufel
products, the warranty may be transferred to the purchaser as long as the original proof of purchase is also
passed on to the purchaser.
Returns
Teufel provides the right to exchange or return within
eight weeks with refund of the purchase price paid.
Return of individual components sold as a package is
only possible if these components are also sold individually by Lautsprecher Teufel. In the case of the return of
one or more individual components the package price
reduction offered by Lautsprecher Teufel on all components in a package no longer applies. The amount
refunded to the customer for the components returned will
therefore only be the difference between the package
price and the purchase price of the individual parts. The
economic result for the customer is that it is as if he/she
had originally bought the remaining components at their
individual prices.
Further information on the subject of returns may be
found on the back of the returns form enclosed with the
order or online in the support area of our website www.
teufel.eu.
If you need to return your goods please do not act without first speaking to Lautsprecher Teufel.
We can only process or accept your returns if you give
us prior notification by telephone and discuss how to
proceed!

Setup and connection
Setup location
Ideally, you should place the subwoofer under your •
computer table and the speakers to the right and left of
the monitor.
Select a stable, level base.•
Make sure that the environment is clean and free from •
dust.
Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in •
direct sunlight.
Arrange the connector cables so that they do not pose •
a trip hazard.
Do not place any heavy objects on the cables or the •
speakers.
Mounting the spikes
Screw the four spikes f into the four threaded holes on
the bottom of the subwoofer. These spikes ensure that the
device has a stable position. Additionally, they minimise
vibrations and provide enough space for the subwoofer’s
resonance opening. The subwoofer may not be used
without spikes.
Setting up the speakers
You can set up the two satellite speakers either in an
upright position or on their side using the stands included:
Make sure the polarity is correct!
Connect the like coloured terminals with one
another. Otherwise the sound quality will
suffer. The wires of the speaker cables are marked with
different colours or forms.
Split the core on both ends up to approximately 30 mm •
and remove approximately 10 mm of the insulation on
each piece. Twist the core so that no wires are protruding.
Turn the connector terminal counterclockwise until •
loose. Run the stripped cable end into the hole that is
now visible. Turn the terminal clockwise. The cable has
now been clamped in place.
Connect all cables to the speakers this way.•
Also connect the respective other end of the speaker •
cable to the connections 5 “Speaker out” on the subwoofer (“Right” = right speaker, “Left” = left speaker)
in this way.
RCA input “Line In”
You can connect your PC or almost any other audio
source to the RCA jacks 3 “Line In”, such as MP3 players
(with/without a docking station), video game systems,
televisions etc. The source device only needs an output
with line level. These kinds of outputs are congured as
stereo RCA jacks or as 3.5 mm mini jacks. With a corresponding connector cable, you can connect these devices
to the jacks 3 “Line In”. You can purchase these cables in
our webshop (www.teufel.eu) in the “Accessories” area.
g
e
Screw the stand e into the desired position with a screw
g (see graphic). Stick four of the rubber feet h under the
stand to prevent vibrations.
Connecting the speakers
Lay the speaker cable from your subwoofer to each •
of the speakers. This cable should be a high-quality
double-core speaker cable with marked wires. The
cross-section should amount to at least 1.0 mm2.
A connector terminal with two terminals is located on •
the back of the speakers, one is marked red (+) and
the other black (-).
Connecting a microphone
You can connect a microphone (e. g. from a headset) to
the jack 12 “Mic” on the front of the remote control. This
mono sound input is then transmitted from the mini-jack
2 “Mic. Out” on the back of the subwoofer. Connect this
jack with the microphone input of your PC. You will need
a connector cable with two mini-jacks for this, which you
can purchase in our webshop (www.teufel.eu) in the “Accessories” area.
The microphone input is also active when the amplier is
in standby mode.
Headphones
You can connect stereo headphones to the jack 5
“Phone”. The speakers are automatically deactivated in
the process.

Connecting to a power supply
Danger
set to the right voltage!
The switch 6 has two settings:
The selected setting is visible in white print on the switch’s
red plastic slider. In case of doubt, please ask your local
energy supplier for your mains voltage.
Check the mains voltage!
Be absolutely sure to check whether the
switch for the mains voltage 6 has been
230• (220–240 V) for Germany and Europe
115• (110–120 V) for North America
If necessary, set the correct mains voltage using the •
switch 6.
Ensure that the mains switch• 7 “Power” is switched off
(“OFF” position).
Connect the mains connector jack • 8 with a mains
socket using the mains cord c.

Care and cleaning
Clean your Concept D 500 THX regularly with a soft,
damp microbre cloth. In the process, be absolutely sure
to observe the following notes:
Danger
Risk of electric shock!
In contact with live parts, water can lead to
electric shock or short circuit.
Ensure that no liquid penetrates the unit.•
Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning.•
Attention
Risk of damage!
Using the wrong cleaning materials may dam-
age the delicate surface of the case.
If possible use only plain water with no cleaning prod-•
ucts. In case of stubborn marks, a mild soap solution
may be used.
In no circumstances should caustic cleaning products, •
white spirit, thinners, petrol or similar be used for
cleaning.
Troubleshooting
The following instructions should help you to solve problems. If this doesn't work, please contact our hotline (see page 3).
Mind the warranty instructions.
ProblemPossible causeSolution
The device emits no sound. The PC link has been interrupted.Check the connection to the PC (see “RCA
input” on page 7).
Volume is set to “0”.Increase the volume.
Fuse defective.Change the fuse: Remove
the mains cable, carefully
pull the fuse holder out of
the mains connector jack
8. Insert a new fuse (3.5
A delay-action), close the
holder.
The speakers hum.The humming is caused by line distur-
bance.
The humming is caused by a multiple
socket.
The playback has interference.
The Concept D 500 THX is generally a
very low-noise system. In the high range
area, very good-quality high-resolution
speaker systems can expose the poor
quality of a signal source (e. g. from MP3
les).
Buy a line lter and connect the device to it.
Use another multiple socket or connect the
subwoofer directly to a wall socket. Connec-
ting the mains plug with the socket the other
way around may also help.
Make sure that the source sends a clean
signal to the Concept D 500 THX.

Protecting the environment
Disposal of the unit
Used units must not be disposed of with household waste!
If the unit is no longer operational, every
consumer is required by law to dispose of
used devices separate from household waste,
e. g. at a collection point run by the communal authority borough. In this way, used devices can be recycled
and waste materials disposed of in an environmentally
friendly manner.
For this reason, electrical equipment is labelled with the
displayed symbol.
