Safety notes
Danger
Risk of electric shock!
Faulty electrical installation or excess mains voltage may result in an electric shock.
• The unit is only suitable for mains voltage of 220 V–240 V ~/50 Hz.
• If the unit's case or mains cable is defective or shows other signs of visible damage, disconnect it immediately from the power supply and do not operate it.
• If the unit emits smoke or smells of burning or other unusual odours, disconnect it immediately from the power supply and do not operate it.
• The standby button does not disconnect the unit from the power supply. Plug the unit into an easily accessible socket so that it can be quickly disconnected in case of a fault.
• Never open the unit case. Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop. Only use parts which conform with the original unit specifications. There are electrical and mechanical parts in this unit which are essential in order to avoid exposure to sources of danger.
• Do not insert any object through the vent slots in the case.
• Only use the machine in indoor areas.
• Do not operate the unit in damp areas and protect it from drops of water or splash water. Also take care not to stand vases or other containers of liquid on or near the unit in order to avoid liquid getting into the case. If water or other
foreign bodies should enter the case, disconnect it immediately from the mains power supply and remove any batteries. Send the unit to our service address.
• Never touch the plug with damp hands.
• Check the unit regularly for damage.
Danger
Risks for children!
Children can become trapped in the packing film when playing and suffocate.
• Do not allow children to play with the unit or the packing film. Danger of suffocation.
• Ensure that children do not remove small parts from the unit or pull them off the unit (e. g. remote control batteries, buttons or plug adapters). They could swallow the parts and choke. If a battery is swallowed, take the child to a doctor immediately.
• Never allow children to operate electrical devices unsupervised.
Danger
Danger to hearing!
Loud noise may lead to hearing loss.
Particularly when an amplifier is switched on and is set to full volume, sudden noise pressure may be produced. This may have psychological effects and also may result in physical injury. Children and pets are at particularly risk.
• Set your signal source unit volume control to a low
setting.
• When the volume is set high, always keep a certain
distance from the unit and never place your ear directly on the speaker.
• To avoid damage to health, avoid extended listening at
high volume.
Danger
Danger of injury/damage!
Incorrect location may result in damage.
• Never use the unit unsecured in a vehicle, on an unsta-
ble surface, on wobbly stands or furniture, with undersized wall fixings etc. The speakers could fall down or fall over and be damaged or cause injury.
• Place the speakers in such a way that they cannot be
knocked over unseen and make sure that the cables do not pose a trip hazard.
• Do not place the unit near sources of heat (e. g. heat-
ers, ovens, other heat generating equipment such as amplifiers etc.)
Page 5
• Concept B 200 5
Attention
Fire Hazard!
Improper use may lead to damage or fire.
• Do not place open flames such as burning candles or similar on the unit.
• Ensure sufficient ventilation.
• Do not place the unit in direct sunlight.
• Do not cover the ventilation slots with curtains, cloths, newspapers or similar. Heat build-up inside the unit can shorten the lifetime of the unit.
Attention
Risk of damage!
Power overload due to lightning strike may damage or destroy the unit.
• If the unit is to be left unsupervised for a long period (e. g. during a holiday), or if a thunderstorm is forecast, disconnect it from the mains power supply.

Setup and connection
Location
• Ideally, you should place the amplifier unit under your computer monitor, but please ensure that you do not place the monitor directly on the device! Set up the speakers to the right and left of the monitor.
• Select a stable, level base.
• Make sure that the environment is clean and free from dust.
• Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in direct sunlight.
• Arrange the connector cables so that they do not pose a trip hazard.
• Do not place any heavy objects on top of the cables or units.
Connecting the speakers
Use the enclosed speaker cables to connect the speakers. The 6.3 mm plugs prevent pole reversal.
The connector jacks 14 “SPEAKER” for the right (“R”) and left (“L”) speaker are located on the back of the amplifier unit.
The connector jacks (see arrow on the adjacent figure) are located on the back of the speakers.
Connect the amplifier unit with the two speakers.
RCA Input “Aux”
You can connect almost any audio source, such as a computers, MP3 players (with/ without docking station), video game systems, televisions etc., to the RCA jacks 10 “Aux R/L”. Just an output with line level is required for the source unit. Such outputs are configured either as stereo RCA jacks or as a 3.5 mm plug. With a corresponding connector cable, you can connect these devices to the jacks 10 “Aux R/L”. You can purchase these cables in our webshop (www.teufelaudio.com) in the area “Accessories”.
Mini-jack input “MP3”
You can also connect almost any audio source that features an output with line level to the 3.5 mm mini-jack
11 “MP3”.
USB port
A passive USB hub is integrated in the amplifier unit that provides three type A USB device jacks, which are available for USB devices: Jack 6
on the front and the
two jacks 13
on the back. You should use the front jack for devices only needed for a short time, such as memory sticks. The rear jack is ideal for connecting printers, keyboards and transmitters that are intended to be permanently connected with a PC.
To connect to a PC, you will need one USB device cable that comprises a plug A and plug B. You can purchase such cables in our webshop (www.teufelaudio.com) in the area “Accessories”.
With this cable, you can connect the jack 12
with a
USB jack on your PC.
Sound card
You can use the integrated USB soundcard under Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X without having to install drivers.
After connecting the amplifier unit to a USB port on your computer (see previous section), the sound card is available as “C-Media USB Headphone Set” in the sound output control.
Microphone connection
You can connect a microphone (e.g. from a headset) to the jack 4
”. This mono sound input is also available as “C Media USB Headphone Set” in the sound input control.
The microphone input is also activated when the amplifier unit is in standby mode.
Headphones
You can connect stereo headphones to the “ ” jack 5– the speakers are automatically deactivated in the process.
Mains connection
• Ensure that the mains switch 15 “Power” is deactivated
(position “OFF”).
• Set the volume control 9 “Volume” to its lowest setting
(turn it all counterclockwise until it has reached the minimum position).
• Connect the mains jack 16 with a mains socket using
the mains cord d.

Cleaning and care
Clean your Concept B 200 regularly with a soft, damp microfiber cloth. Please be absolutely sure to follow the notes below:
Danger
Risk of electric shock!
In contact with live parts water can lead to electric shock or short circuit.
• Ensure that no water gets into the unit.
• Disconnect the device from the mains power supply before cleaning.
Attention
Risk of damage!
Using the wrong cleaning materials may damage the delicate surface of the case.
• If possible use only plain water with no cleaning products. In case of stubborn marks a mild soap solution may be used.
• In no circumstances should caustic cleaning products, white spirit, thinners, petrol or similar be used for cleaning.
Troubleshooting
The following instructions should help you to solve problems. If this doesn‘t work, please contact our hotline (see page 3). Take note of the warranty instructions.
Problem Possible cause Solution The unit produces no
sound.
Wrong source selected. Select the correct source (see page 8). Volume is set to “0”. Increase the volume. Fuse is defective. Replace the fuse: Discon-
nect the mains cord, carefully pull out the fuse holder on the mains jack
16. Insert the new fuse (1.6 A, slow-blowing) and close the holder.
The speakers buzz. The buzzing is caused by problems with
the power supply.
Buy a line filter and connect the device to it.
The buzzing is caused by a multi-way socket.
Use another multi-way socket or connect the amplifier unit directly to a wall socket. Connecting the mains plug with the socket the other way around may also help.
Playback is noisy. The Concept B 200 is generally a very
low-noise system. What often happens is that due to the excellent sound reproduction capbility of the tweeters noise that is inherent to the source (typical for MP3 files) is revealed.
Ensure that the audio source is of good quality and noise free.

Disposing of the unit
Used units must not be disposed of with household waste
If the unit is no longer operational, every consumer is required by law to dispose of
used devices separate from household waste, e. g. at a collection point run by the communal authority borough. In this way, used devices can be recycled and waste materials disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. For this reason, electrical equipment is labeled with the symbol shown on the left.
