Beschreibung
Die Ankle Air PRO Sprunggelenksorthese
ist eine sowohl postoperativ als auch
präventiv einsetzbare Orthese, die den
Fuß vor dem Umknicken optimal schützt.
Bänder und Weichteil- sowie knöcherne Strukturen des oberen und unteren
Sprunggelenks werden eektiv stabilisiert
und dabei der Heilungsprozess der verletzten Strukturen hervorragend unterstützt.
Präventiv wird die Orthese eingesetzt, um
die im Sport und im Alltag auftretenden
Umknicksituationen zu verhindern und
damit vor Sprunggelenksverletzungen
umfänglich zu schützen.
Die neuartige, patentierte Orthesengeometrie schmiegt sich durch thermoplastische Verformbarkeit an die individuelle
Sprunggelenksanatomie hautnah an.
Die innovative Gurtung ist extrem dünn
und ist einfach sowie schnell anzulegen.
Die Orthese trägt nicht auf und ist kaum
spürbar.
Individuell kann diese umfassende Funktion der Gelenkstabilisierung reduziert
werden. Je nach Einstellung lässt sie eine
Erhöhung der Gelenkfreiheitsgrade zu und
ist damit abrüstbar. Das verwendete Textil
auf dem zentralen Stabilisierungselement
ist hochgradig atmungsaktiv. Es verhindert Feuchtigkeits- und Wärmestau.

Kontraindikation

Rötungen der Haut im Bereich der
Orthesenanlage
• Schwere Durchblutungsstörungen
der unteren Extremität
• Lymphatische Problematiken im
Bereich des Fußes und Beines
Funktion
Sicherstellung der Sprunggelenksstabilität
gegenüber unphysiologischen Bewegungen,
die eine Umknickverletzung des oberen und/
oder unteren Sprunggelenks hervorrufen.
Diese Funktion wird eektiv im postoperativen/posttraumatischen Zeitraum sowie zur
Verletzungsprävention erfüllt.

Sicherheit
• Vor der Benutzung ist eine individuelle
Anpassung des Produktes und eine
Einweisung in den Gebrauch durch
einen erfahrenen Orthopädietechniker
entsprechend der ärztlichen Anweisung
erforderlich.
• Falsche Auswahl, Anpassung, Anwendung und/oder mangelhafte Kontrolle
der Passform des Produktes können zu
gesundheitlichen Schäden führen.
• Die Orthese vor jedem Anlegen auf Beschädigungen überprüfen (z. B. lockere
Verbindungen, Verschlüsse, Gurte, etc.).
• Bei vermuteten Leistungsstörungen
(z. B. dem Gefühl einer nachlassenden
oder unzureichenden Wirkung) muss
unverzüglich der Arzt oder Orthopädietechniker aufgesucht werden.
• Die Orthese nie auf verletzter Haut tragen.
• Die Orthese muss regelmäßig von einem
Arzt oder Orthopädietechniker auf ihre
Funktion, korrekten Sitz und eventuelle
Beschädigungen überprüft werden. Die
Abstände der Kontrollen sind für jeden
Patienten individuell festzulegen.
• Sollte das Produkt einer unverhältnismäßig
starken Belastung ausgesetzt gewesen
sein, muss es vor der weiteren Verwendung von einem Orthopädietechniker auf
mögliche Schäden überprüft werden.
• Unzuträglicher Druck durch die Orthese
kann zu Hautschädigungen und Durchblutungsstörungen führen und muss
daher vermieden werden.
• Die Orthese ist durch die notwendige individuelle Anpassung nicht zur Wiederverwendung bei weiteren Personen geeignet!

Lieferumfang
Sprunggelenksorthese bestehend aus
einem zentralen Stabilisierungselement aus
Faserverbundkunststo, drei Klettgurten
und einer Gebrauchsanweisung.
Anlegen der Orthese
1. Stellen zuerst die Körpergröße fest,
um die richtige Orthesengröße dem
Patienten anzulegen.
2. Als erstes wird die Orthese an den
Innen knöchel platziert. Beim Anlegen
wird das Sprunggelenk in einem 90°
Winkel (rechter Winkel) gehalten. Zusätzliches leichtes Anziehen der Zehen
nach oben festigt die 90° Position.
Um eine optimale Platzierung zu erreichen,
kann das zentrale Stabilisierungs element
aus Faserverbundkunststo ther moplastisch angeformt werden (Abb. 1a).

3. Dabei umgreift der untere Orthesenteil
den knöchernen Teil des Innenknöchels.
Danach wird das Klettgurt 1 um das Bein
geführt und festgeklettet. Mittels des
zuschneidbaren Gurts kann die Länge
individuell eingestellt werden (Abb. 1b).

Im letzten Schritt verläuft der Gurt
diagonal das Klettband 2 kreuzend,
um schließlich auf dem Klettgurt 1
befestigt zu werden (Abb. 3c).

Beim Kreuzen sollte der Klettgurt 3
auf den runden Klettpunkt des Gurt 2
geklettet werden, um auch hier fortlaufend die korrekte Zugrichtung des Gurtes
sicherzustellen. Mittels des zuschneidbaren Gurtes kann die Länge vor sowie
hinter dem anatomisch geformten
Klettgurtelement (A) individuell optimiert
werden. Die Abrüstbarkeit der Orthese
und damit die zunehmende Freigabe von
Freiheitsgraden insbesondere im unteren
Sprunggelenk erfolgt durch die Entnahme des Klett gurtelements (A) und des
nachfolgenden Gurts. Diese Anpassung
sollte von einem Orthopädietechniker
erfolgen. Den Zeitpunkt der Abrüstung
bestimmt der behandelnde Arzt.
4. Der Klettgurt 2 wird hinten um die Knöchel
herumgeführt und an der vorderen
Innenseite auf die zwei vorbereiteten
Klettpunkte angeklettet (Abb. 2). Mittels
des zuschneidbaren Gurts kann die Länge
ebenfalls individuell eingestellt werden.

5. Klettgurt 3 wird ein erstes Mal unter
dem Fuß durchgeführt (Abb. 3a).

Im nächsten Schritt wird der Klettgurt
über den Fußrücken gelegt und dann
ein zweites Mal unter dem Fuß und um
die Fußaußenseite geführt, so dass das
extra anatomisch geformte Klettgurtelement (A) direkt an der Fußaußenseite
anliegt und ein Verrutschen des Gurts
verhindert (Abb. 3b).

Komfort/Hygiene
Die Orthese kann in der Waschmaschine bei
30° gereinigt werden. Unter der Orthese sollte ein Strumpf oder Socken getragen werden.

Das Produkt sollte an einem trockenen Ort
auewahrt werden. Vor Staub, Schmutz und
Feuchtigkeit schützen. Das Produkt enthält
keine umweltgefährdenden Stoe. Es kann
über den Hausmüll entsorgt werden.

Contents Description
The Ankle Air PRO ankle brace is an orthosis which may be used both during the
post-operative stage and for injury prevention, and helps users prevent twisting their
foot. Ligaments, soft tissue and osseus
structures of the lower and upper ankle
joint are stabilized, which furthers the
healing process of the injured structures.
The orthosis can be used during everyday life or when doing sports to prevent
positions and movements during which
people typically twist their ankles. This
way, the orthosis helps prevent injuries of
the ankle joint.
Because the orthosis can be thermoformed, the novel, patented shape of the
brace snugly fits the patients‘ individual
ankle anatomies.
The innovative straps are very thin, and
can be positioned both easily and quickly.
The brace does not add any bulk, and is
hardly noticeable when worn.
The degree of joint stabilization can be
adjusted individually. By changing the
adjustment of the brace, the mobility of
the ankle can be increased, which makes
the brace downgradable. The textile on
the central stabilizing element is highly
breathable, and prevents the accumulation of heat and moisture.

Indication
• Postoperative or posttraumatic treatment of the ligamentous apparatus of
the ankle joint
• Acute injuries to the ligaments of the
upper and lower ankle joint
• Chronic instability of the upper and
lower ankle joint
• Distorsions
Contraindication
• General lesions of the skin, redness of
the skin where the brace will be worn
• Severely disturbed blood flow of the
lower extremities
• Lymphatic problems on the aected
foot or leg
Function
Securing the ankle joint against unphysiological movements which may cause an
injury through twisting the lower or upper
ankle. This function is fulfilled both during
the posttraumatic/postoperative period
and for injury prevention.

Safety
• Before this device is used, it is essential
that the orthosis is individually adapted
to the patient by an experienced orthopedic technician and that the patient is
trained in the orthosis’ use according to
the doctor’s instructions.
• Incorrect selection, adaptation, application, and/or failure to monitor the correct
fit of this product may cause health
damage.
• Check orthosis for damage (such as
loose connections, fasteners, belts,
etc.) each time it is put on.
• In case you suspect any performance
malfunctions (e.g. an apparent reduction
or lack of eect), immediately call on
your doctor or orthopedic technician.
• Never wear the orthosis on broken skin.
• The orthosis must be checked for proper
function, correct fit and potential damage
by a doctor or orthopedic technician at
regular intervals. The timing of these
intervals has to be defined individually
for each patient.
• Should the product have been subject
to disproportionate stress, it must be
checked for potential damage by an
orthopedic technician before further use.
• Harmful pressure caused by the orthosis
may cause skin injuries or disrupt blood
flow and must be avoided.
• Due to the individual adaptation to the
patient the orthosis may not be reused
on other people.

Scope of Delivery
Ankle brace consisting of three straps with
hook-and-loop closures and a user manual.
Applying the Brace
1. First, determine the patient‘s height to
select the right brace size for the patient.
2. Place the brace against the medial
malleolus. The position of the ankle
displays an angle of 90°. To acchieve
an optimum fit of the brace, the central
stabilizing element, which consists of
fiber composite material, can be thermoformed (fig. 1a).

3. The lower part of the orthosis should
be positioned so it follows the shape of
the bony part of the medial malleolus.
Then place strap 1 around the leg, and
close it with the hook-and-loop closure.
The strap can be adjusted in length by
cutting it (fig. 1b).

4. Place strap no. 2 around the back of the
ankle, and attach it to the front on the
medial side with the two hook dots that
have already been installed there (fig. 2).

Finally, place the strap diagonally
across the hook-and-loop strap no. 2,
and attach it on the hook-and-loop
strap no.1 (fig. 3c).

Where the straps cross, loop strap no. 3
should be attached to the hook dot on
strap no. 2, to continuously ensure that
the strap pulls in the correct direction.
The length of the strap both in front and
behind the anatomically shaped lopp
strap element (A) can be adjusted by
cutting the strap to the desired length.
The orthosis can be downgraded and
the range of motion, especially of the
lower ankle joint, can be increased by
removing the loop strap element (A) and
the strap following it, and changing the
way the straps wrap around the ankle
and foot. This adjustment should be
administered by an orthopedic technician. The correct time to downgrade the
orthosis should be determined by the
attending physician.

5. Wrap strap no. 3 once around the bot-
tom of the foot (fig. 3a).

Now place the strap across the back of
the foot, then one more time around the
bottom of the foot. The anatomically
shaped loop strap element (A) should
be placed directly onto the lateral side
of the foot to prevent the brace from
shifting out of place (fig. 3b).

Comfort/Hygiene
The orthosis can be washed in the washing
machine at 30°C. A sock or a stocking should
be worn underneath the orthosis.
