Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise

WARNUNG

Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen (CE) ist das
eigenmächtige Umbauen und/oder Verändern des Ge­rätes nicht gestattet. Um einen sicheren Betrieb mit
dem Gerät zu gewährleisten, müssen Sie die Sicher­heitshinweise, Warnvermerke und das Kapitel "Be­stimmungsgemäße Verwendung" unbedingt beachten.

WARNUNG

Beachten Sie vor dem Gebrauch des Gerätes bitte
folgende Hinweise:

| Vermeiden Sie einen Betrieb des Gerätes in der

Nähe von elektrischen Schweißgeräten, Induktions­heizern und anderen elektromagnetischen Feldern.

| Nach abrupten Temperaturwechseln muss das Ge-

rät vor dem Gebrauch zur Stabilisierung ca. 30 Mi­nuten an die neue Umgebungstemperatur ange­passt werden um den IR-Sensor zu stabilisieren.

| Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht längere Zeit hohen

Temperaturen aus.

| Vermeiden Sie staubige und feuchte Umgebungs-

bedingungen.

| Messgeräte und Zubehör sind kein Spielzeug und

gehören nicht in Kinderhände!

| In gewerblichen Einrichtungen sind die Unfallverhü-

tungsvorschriften des Verbandes der gewerblichen
Berufsgenossenschaften für elektrische Anlagen
und Betriebsmittel zu beachten.

Das Gerät ist nur für die in der Bedienungsanleitung beschrie­benen Anwendungen bestimmt. Eine andere Verwendung ist
unzulässig und kann zu Unfällen oder Zerstörung des Gerätes
führen. Diese Anwendungen führen zu einem sofortigen Erlö­schen jeglicher Garantie- und Gewährleistungsansprüche des
Bedieners gegenüber dem Hersteller.

Um das Gerät vor Beschädigung zu schützen, entfer­nen Sie bitte bei längerem Nichtgebrauch des Gerätes
die Batterien.

Bei Sach- oder Personenschäden, die durch unsach­gemäße Handhabung oder Nichtbeachtung der Si­cherheitshinweise verursacht werden, übernehmen wir
keine Haftung. In solchen Fällen erlischt jeder Garan­tieanspruch. Ein in einem Dreieck befindliches Ausru­fezeichen weist auf Sicherheitshinweise in der Bedie­nungsanleitung hin. Lesen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme die

Hinweise

Entsorgung

Sehr geehrter Testboy-Kunde, mit dem Erwerb unseres Produk­tes haben Sie die Möglichkeit, das Gerät nach Ende seines Le­benszyklus an geeignete Sammelstellen für Elektroschrott zu­rückzugeben.

Die WEEE (2002/96/EC) regelt die Rücknahme und
das Recycling von Elektroaltgeräten. Hersteller von
Elektrogeräten sind ab dem 13.8.2005 dazu ver­pflichtet, Elektrogeräte, die nach diesem Datum ver-

kauft werden, kostenfrei zurückzunehmen und zu
recyceln. Elektrogeräte dürfen dann nicht mehr in
die „normalen“ Abfallströme eingebracht werden.
Elektrogeräte sind separat zu recyceln und zu ent­sorgen. Alle Geräte, die unter diese Richtlinie fallen,
sind mit diesem Logo gekennzeichnet.

Entsorgung von gebrauchten Batterien

Sie als Endverbraucher sind gesetzlich (Batteriege­setz) zur Rückgabe aller gebrauchten Batterien und
Akkus verpflichtet; eine Entsorgung über den
Hausmüll ist untersagt!

Schadstoffhaltige Batterien/Akkus sind mit neben­stehenden Symbolen gekennzeichnet, die auf das
Verbot der Entsorgung über den Hausmüll hinwei­sen.

Die Bezeichnungen für das ausschlaggebende
Schwermetall sind: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Quecksil­ber, Pb = Blei.

Ihre verbrauchten Batterien/Akkus können Sie un­entgeltlich bei den Sammelstellen Ihrer Gemeinde
oder überall dort abgeben, wo Batterien/Akkus ver­kauft werden!

5 Jahre Garantie

Testboy-Geräte unterliegen einer strengen Qualitätskontrolle.
Sollten während der täglichen Praxis dennoch Fehler in der
Funktion auftreten, gewähren wir eine Garantie von 5 Jahren
(nur gültig mit Rechnung). Fabrikations- oder Materialfehler
werden von uns kostenlos beseitigt sofern das Gerät ohne
Fremdeinwirkung und ungeöffnet an uns zurückgesandt wird.
Beschädigungen durch Sturz oder falsche Handhabung sind
vom Garantieanspruch ausgeschlossen.

Vielen Dank, dass Sie Sich für den Testboy® 20 Plus entschie­den haben. Der Testboy
entwicklung des millionenfach bewährten Testboy
fügt inzwischen über sechs professionelle Funktionen für Arbei­ten an elektrischen Leitungen:

Es sind keine Messleitungen einge­steckt (siehe Bild 2)!
Der Testboy

®

20 Plus ist in der Lage,
mit dem in der Rückseite integrierten
Schaltkreis spannungsführende Lei­tungen zu identifizieren >110 V AC.

Ein Stromfluss ist nicht erforderlich!

Einpolige Phasensuche

Stecken Sie eine Messleitung in die
COM-Buchse (siehe Bild 3)!
Berühren Sie nun mit der Messspitze
den Leiter. Achten Sie darauf, den
rückseitig angebrachten Bügel nicht
zu berühren (nach oben klappen).
Beim Anliegen einer Phase, leuchtet
die rote V~ LED auf!

Wird der Metallbügel bei der Messung
berührt, erhöht sich die Empfindlich­keit der Elektronik, so dass Wechsel­spannungsfelder auch auf einige Mil­limeter Entfernung aufgespürt werden
können!

Ein Berühren des Metallbügels birgt
keine Gefahr!

Batteriewechsel

Nehmen Sie einen Schraubendreher
und hebeln Sie das Gehäuseoberteil
oben zwischen dem Noppen und der
mittleren Buchse nach vorne (siehe
Bild 4). Haken Sie den Deckel nach
unten ab. Achten Sie beim Einsetzen
der neuen Batterien auf die Polarität!

Batterien gehören nicht in
den Hausmüll. Auch in Ihrer
Nähe befindet sich eine
Sammelstelle!

General safety notes

WARNING

Unauthorized changes or modifications of the instru­ment are forbidden – such changes put the approval
(CE) and safety of the instrument at risk. In order to
operate the instrument safely, you must always ob­serve the safety instructions, warnings and the infor­mation in the "Proper and Intended Use" Chapter.

WARNING

Please observe the following information before using
the instrument:

| Do not operate the instrument in the proximity of

electrical welders, induction heaters and other elec­tromagnetic fields.

| After an abrupt temperature fluctuation, the instru-

ment should be allowed to adjust to the new tem­perature for about 30 minutes before using it. This
helps to stabilize the IR sensor.

| Do not expose the instrument to high temperatures

for a long period of time.

| Avoid dusty and humid surroundings.
| Measurement instruments and their accessories are

not toys. Children should never be allowed access
to them!

| In industrial institutions, you must follow the acci-

dent prevention regulations for electrical facilities
and equipment, as established by your employer's
liability insurance organization.

1 Disconnect.
2 Ensure that the instrument cannot be turned back

on again.

3 Ensure isolation from the main supply voltage

(check that there is no voltage on both poles).

4 Earth and short-circuit.
5 Cover neighbouring parts that are under live elec-

trical load.

This instrument is intended for use in applications described in
the operation manual only. Any other usage is considered im­proper and non-approved us-age and can result in accidents or

expiry of all guarantee and warranty claims on the part of the
operator against the manufacturer.

Remove the batteries during longer periods of inactivity
in order to avoid damaging the instrument.

We assume no liability for damages to property or per­sonal injury caused by improper handling or failure to
observe safety instructions. Any warranty claim expires
in such cases. An exclamation mark in a triangle indi­cates safety notices in the operating instructions. Read
the instructions completely before beginning the initial
commissioning. This instrument is CE approved and

Disposal

For Testboy customers: Purchasing our product gives you the
opportunity to return the instrument to collection points for
waste electrical equipment at the end of its lifespan.

The EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) regulates the
return and recycling of waste electrical and electron­ics equipment. As of 13/08/2005, manufacturers of
electrical and electronics equipment are obliged to
take back and recycle any electrical devices sold af­ter this date for no charge. After that date, electrical
de-vices must not be disposed of through the "nor­mal" waste disposal channels. Electrical devices
must be disposed of and recycled separately. All de­vices that fall under this directive must feature this

logo.

Disposing of used batteries

As an end user, you are legally obliged (by the rele­vant laws concerning battery disposal) to return
all used batteries. Disposal with normal house­hold waste is prohibited!

Contaminant-laden batteries are labelled with the
adjacent symbol which indicates the prohibition of
disposal with normal household waste.

The abbreviations used for heavy metals are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
You can return your used batteries for no charge to

collection points in your community or everywhere
where batteries are sold!

Five year warranty

Testboy instruments are subject to strict quality control stan­dards. The instrument is covered by a warranty for a period of
five years against malfunctions during the course of your daily
work (valid only with invoice). We will repair production or mate­rial defects free of charge upon return if these have not been
caused by misuse or abuse and if the instrument has not been
opened. Damage resulting from a fall or improper handling is
excluded from the warranty.

Certificate of quality

All aspects of the activities carried out by Testboy GmbH relat­ing to quality during the manufacturing process are monitored

Operation

Thank you for choosing the Testboy® 20 Plus. The Testboy® 20
Plus represents the latest advancement in the popular Testboy
2 series. It features six professional functions for working with
electrical cables and wires:

Then touch the probe tip to the wire.
Be sure not to touch the clip attached
to the back side (move to up position).
If a phase is active, the rote V~ LED
will illuminate!

The sensitivity of the electronics in­creases if the metal clip is contacted
during the measurement. This means
that AC voltage fields can be detected
even at distances of several millime­tres!

It is not dangerous to touch this metal

Changing the batteries

Use a screwdriver to leverage the up­per housing section upwards and to­wards the front, between the protrud­ing knobs and the middle socket (refer
to Figure 4). To remove the lid, un­hook downwards. Make sure you in­sert the new batteries with the polarity
properly aligned!

Do not dispose of batteries in
normal household rubbish!
Use an authorised local col­lection point!
