Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
WARNUNG
Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen (CE) ist das
eigenmächtige Umbauen und/oder Verändern des Gerätes nicht gestattet. Um einen sicheren Betrieb mit
dem Gerät zu gewährleisten, müssen Sie die Sicherheitshinweise, Warnvermerke und das Kapitel "Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung" unbedingt beachten.
WARNUNG
Beachten Sie vor dem Gebrauch des Gerätes bitte
folgende Hinweise:
| Vermeiden Sie einen Betrieb des Gerätes in der
Nähe von elektrischen Schweißgeräten, Induktionsheizern und anderen elektromagnetischen Feldern.
| Nach abrupten Temperaturwechseln muss das Ge-
rät vor dem Gebrauch zur Stabilisierung ca. 30 Minuten an die neue Umgebungstemperatur angepasst werden um den IR-Sensor zu stabilisieren.
| Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht längere Zeit hohen
Temperaturen aus.
| Vermeiden Sie staubige und feuchte Umgebungs-
bedingungen.
| Messgeräte und Zubehör sind kein Spielzeug und
gehören nicht in Kinderhände!
| In gewerblichen Einrichtungen sind die Unfallverhü-
tungsvorschriften des Verbandes der gewerblichen
Berufsgenossenschaften für elektrische Anlagen
und Betriebsmittel zu beachten.

Das Gerät ist nur für die in der Bedienungsanleitung beschriebenen Anwendungen bestimmt. Eine andere Verwendung ist
unzulässig und kann zu Unfällen oder Zerstörung des Gerätes
führen. Diese Anwendungen führen zu einem sofortigen Erlöschen jeglicher Garantie- und Gewährleistungsansprüche des
Bedieners gegenüber dem Hersteller.
Um das Gerät vor Beschädigung zu schützen, entfernen Sie bitte bei längerem Nichtgebrauch des Gerätes
die Batterien.
Bei Sach- oder Personenschäden, die durch unsachgemäße Handhabung oder Nichtbeachtung der Sicherheitshinweise verursacht werden, übernehmen wir
keine Haftung. In solchen Fällen erlischt jeder Garantieanspruch. Ein in einem Dreieck befindliches Ausrufezeichen weist auf Sicherheitshinweise in der Bedienungsanleitung hin. Lesen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme die

Hinweise
Entsorgung
Sehr geehrter Testboy-Kunde, mit dem Erwerb unseres Produktes haben Sie die Möglichkeit, das Gerät nach Ende seines Lebenszyklus an geeignete Sammelstellen für Elektroschrott zurückzugeben.
Die WEEE (2002/96/EC) regelt die Rücknahme und

das Recycling von Elektroaltgeräten. Hersteller von
Elektrogeräten sind ab dem 13.8.2005 dazu verpflichtet, Elektrogeräte, die nach diesem Datum verkauft werden, kostenfrei zurückzunehmen und zu
recyceln. Elektrogeräte dürfen dann nicht mehr in
die „normalen“ Abfallströme eingebracht werden.
Elektrogeräte sind separat zu recyceln und zu entsorgen. Alle Geräte, die unter diese Richtlinie fallen,
sind mit diesem Logo gekennzeichnet.
Entsorgung von gebrauchten Batterien
Sie als Endverbraucher sind gesetzlich (Batteriegesetz) zur Rückgabe aller gebrauchten Batterien und
Akkus verpflichtet; eine Entsorgung über den
Hausmüll ist untersagt!
Schadstoffhaltige Batterien/Akkus sind mit nebenstehenden Symbolen gekennzeichnet, die auf das
Verbot der Entsorgung über den Hausmüll hinweisen.
Die Bezeichnungen für das ausschlaggebende
Schwermetall sind: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Quecksilber, Pb = Blei.
Ihre verbrauchten Batterien/Akkus können Sie unentgeltlich bei den Sammelstellen Ihrer Gemeinde
oder überall dort abgeben, wo Batterien/Akkus verkauft werden!

5 Jahre Garantie
Testboy-Geräte unterliegen einer strengen Qualitätskontrolle.
Sollten während der täglichen Praxis dennoch Fehler in der
Funktion auftreten, gewähren wir eine Garantie von 5 Jahren
(nur gültig mit Rechnung). Fabrikations- oder Materialfehler
werden von uns kostenlos beseitigt sofern das Gerät ohne
Fremdeinwirkung und ungeöffnet an uns zurückgesandt wird.
Beschädigungen durch Sturz oder falsche Handhabung sind
vom Garantieanspruch ausgeschlossen.

Bedienung
Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für den Testboy® 15 entschieden
haben.
Er verfügt über professionelle Funktionen für Arbeiten an allen
Magnetfeldarten:
Berührungslose Magnetfelderkennung
Der Testboy® 15 ist in der Lage, mit dem
in der Spitze integrierten Schaltkreis Magnetfelder aller Art aufzuspüren: z.B. Magnetventile in Heizungsanlagen, Magnetventile im Nutzfahrzeugbereich, Printrelais
auf Platinen u.v.m.
Zuerst sind die Batterien gemäß unten genannter Funktionskontrolle zu überprüfen.
Berühren Sie den zu überprüfenden Gegenstand mit der Spitze des Magnettesters (siehe Bild Punkt 1.). Wenn die Lampe aufleuchtet ist der Gegenstand magnetisch aktiviert. Zur Überprüfung ist es nicht
erforderlich Maschinen und Geräte anzuhalten.
Funktionskontrolle
Nehmen Sie den Testmagneten am Deckel des Magnettesters
ab und halten Sie ihn an die Spitze des Gerätes, die dann aufleuchtet.
Leuchtet die Spitze nicht auf, sind die Batterien zu überprüfen.

Batteriewechsel
Nehmen Sie einen Schraubendreher und hebeln Sie das Batteriefach vorsichtig an der Einkerbung auf (siehe Bild Punkt 2.)
Achten Sie beim Einsetzen der neuen Batterien auf die Polarität!
Batterien gehören nicht in den Hausmüll. Auch in Ihrer
Nähe befindet sich eine Sammelstelle!

operate the instrument safely, you must always observe the safety instructions, warnings and the information in the "Proper and Intended Use" Chapter.

Please observe the following information before using

| Do not operate the instrument in the proximity of
electrical welders, induction heaters and other electromagnetic fields.
| After an abrupt temperature fluctuation, the instru-
ment should be allowed to adjust to the new temperature for about 30 minutes before using it. This
helps to stabilize the IR sensor.
| Do not expose the instrument to high temperatures
for a long period of time.
| Avoid dusty and humid surroundings.
| Measurement instruments and their accessories are
not toys. Children should never be allowed access
to them!
| In industrial institutions, you must follow the acci-
dent prevention regulations for electrical facilities
and equipment, as established by your employer's
liability insurance organization.

Please observe the following five safety rules:
1 Disconnect.
2 Ensure that the instrument cannot be turned back
on again.
3 Ensure isolation from the main supply voltage
(check that there is no voltage on both poles).
4 Earth and short-circuit.
5 Cover neighbouring parts that are under live elec-
trical load.
Proper and intended use
This instrument is intended for use in applications described in
the operation manual only. Any other usage is considered im-

proper and non-approved us-age and can result in accidents or
the destruction of the instrument. Any misuse will result in the
expiry of all guarantee and warranty claims on the part of the
operator against the manufacturer.
Remove the batteries during longer periods of inactivity
in order to avoid damaging the instrument.
We assume no liability for damages to property or personal injury caused by improper handling or failure to
observe safety instructions. Any warranty claim expires
in such cases. An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates safety notices in the operating instructions. Read
the instructions completely before beginning the initial
commissioning. This instrument is CE approved and
thus fulfils the required guidelines.

Disposal
For Testboy customers: Purchasing our product gives you the
opportunity to return the instrument to collection points for
waste electrical equipment at the end of its lifespan.
The EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) regulates the
return and recycling of waste electrical and electronics equipment. As of 13/08/2005, manufacturers of
electrical and electronics equipment are obliged to
take back and recycle any electrical devices sold after this date for no charge. After that date, electrical
de-vices must not be disposed of through the "normal" waste disposal channels. Electrical devices
must be disposed of and recycled separately. All de-

vices that fall under this directive must feature this
logo.
Disposing of used batteries
As an end user, you are legally obliged (by the relevant laws concerning battery disposal) to return
all used batteries. Disposal with normal household waste is prohibited!
Contaminant-laden batteries are labelled with the
adjacent symbol which indicates the prohibition of
disposal with normal household waste.
The abbreviations used for heavy metals are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
You can return your used batteries for no charge to

Five year warranty
Testboy instruments are subject to strict quality control standards. The instrument is covered by a warranty for a period of
five years against malfunctions during the course of your daily
work (valid only with invoice). We will repair production or material defects free of charge upon return if these have not been
caused by misuse or abuse and if the instrument has not been
opened. Damage resulting from a fall or improper handling is
excluded from the warranty.

Operation
Thank you for choosing a Testboy® 15.
It has professional functions for work on all types of magnetic
fields:
Non-contact magnetic field detection
The Testboy® 15 is capable of detecting
magnetic fields of all types using the switching circuitry integrated in its tip. This
may include solenoid valves in heating
systems or in commercial vehicles, printer
relays on circuit boards and many other situations.
As a first step, the batteries should be
function tested as described below. Put
the tip of the magnetic field tester next to
the object to be tested (1). The lamp flashes if the component is electrically activated. It is not necessary to halt machines
or devices to carry out test procedures.
Functional check
Remove the testing magnet from the lid of the magnetic field
detector and hold close to the probe of the device, which will
then light up.
If it does not light up, the batteries should be checked.

Insert a screwdriver in to the notch (2) and pry the battery compartment cover off. Make sure you insert the batteries the right
way round!
Do not dispose of batteries in normal household rubbish! Use an authorised local collection point!

Mise au rebut
Cher client Testboy, en achetant notre produit, vous avez la
possibilité de rendre l'appareil à des points de collecte pour déchets électroniques au terme de son cycle de vie.
La DEEE (2002/96/CE) réglemente le retour et le recyclage des déchets électriques et électroniques.
Depuis le 13/8/2005, les fabricants d’appareils électriques et électroniques sont tenus de reprendre gratuitement les appareils électriques achetés après
cette date et de les recycler. Depuis cette date, les
appareils électriques ne doivent plus être mis aux
déchets « ordinaires ». Les appareils électriques
doivent être recyclés et éliminés séparément. Tous
les appareils auxquels s'applique cette directive portent ce logo.

Les appareils Testboy sont soumis à un contrôle de qualité
strict. Si toutefois des défauts de fonctionnement devaient survenir lors de l'utilisation quotidienne, nous accordons une garantie de 5 ans (uniquement valable sur présentation de la facture). Nous éliminons gratuitement tout défaut de fabrication et
de matériau si vous nous renvoyez l'appareil non ouvert et sans
que ce dernier n'ait subi d'intervention par une tierce partie. Les
dommages dus aux chutes ou aux erreurs de manipulation sont
exclus de la garantie.

Utilisation
Nous vous remercions vivement d'avoir acheté le Testboy® 15.
Il possède des fonctions professionnelles pour travailler sur
tous les types de champ magnétique :
Détection sans contact des champs magnétiques
Grâce au circuit électrique intégré dans sa
pointe de test, le Testboy
de détecter des champs magnétiques de
tout types : par ex. électrovannes dans les
installations de chauffage, électrovannes
sur véhicules utilitaires, relais pour circuits
imprimés etc.
Il faut tout d'abord vérifier les piles à l'aide
du contrôle de fonctionnement cité cidessous. Avec la pointe du contrôleur magnétique, toucher l'objet de mesure à vérifier (voir figure repère 1). Si la lampe s'allume, l'objet est magnétiquement actif.
Pour la vérification, il n'est pas nécessaire
d'arrêter les machines et appareils.
Contrôle de fonctionnement
Retirer du capot du contrôleur magnétique les aimants de
contrôle et les tenir à la pointe de l'appareil, laquelle s'allume
alors.

Remplacement des piles
A l'aide d'un tournevis, soulever soigneusement le compartiment des piles par l'encoche (voir repère 2 sur la figure). Lors
de la mise en place des piles neuves, veiller à respecter la polarité !
Ne pas mettre les piles dans les déchets ménagers.
Des points de collecte existent, même près de chez
vous !
