Charging the Bluetooth PTT
The Bluetooth PTT has an internal Lithium Ion rechargeable battery which must be charged prior to operation and must be recharged regularly. A full y charged battery will provide approximately 12 hours of operation before needing to be recharged.
To charge the Bluetooth PTT: Ensure the Bluetooth PTT is turned off, using the switch located on the back of
the device.
Plug the supplied wall charger into a wall outlet. Plug the charger cable into charge jack on the bottom of the Bluetooth adapter.
You will need to remove the protective rubber cover that is inserted into the charge jack. To prevent dust and moisture from damaging the Bluetoot h PTT, always ensure this cover is in place when you are not charging the Bluetooth PTT.
The Bluetooth PTT takes approximately 4.5 hours to charg e. Actual charge time
will vary depending on several factors including the battery’s charge state, condition and age.
Charging Cautions: Use only the wall charger supplied by the manufacturer. Do not use any other
charger.
Do not use a wall charger that appears to be damaged. Do not tamper with or modify the Bluetooth PTT or charger.

Pairing the Bluetooth PTT
In order to operate, the Bl uetooth PTT must be paired to Blue tooth Radio Adapter and Bluetooth headset. To pair these three devices, follow this procedure:
The Bluetooth Radio Adapter must be connected to a compatible radio with a
fully charged battery. Ensure the two-way radio, Bluetooth headset and Bluetooth PTT are all powered off.
Place the Bluetooth Radio adapter in Accessory Pairing mode. To do this, turn
the two-way radio on while holding down the Talk button on the Bluetooth Radio Adapter. Continue to hold the Talk button down for approximately three seconds. Release the Talk button when the status LED flashes two tim es per second. The Bluetooth Radio Adapter is now in audio accessory pairing mode.
Activate the pairing mode on your Bluetooth headset by following the
instructions provided by the headset’s manufact urer. Once the wireless audio accessory and Bluetooth Radio Adapter are paired with each other, the status LED on the adapter wi ll show a constant blu e light for three seconds.
Once the headset and adapter have been successfully paired, turn off the two-
way radio and Blueto oth headset and wait at least three seconds.
Turn on the two-way radio while holding down the Talk button on the Bluetooth
Radio Adapter. Continue to hold the Tal k button down for approximately three seconds. Release the Talk button when the status LED flashes two times per second. Then, press the Talk button again. The LED should now flash three times per second, indicating that the adapter is now in Bluetooth PTT Pairing mode.
Place the Bluetooth PTT in pairing mo de by holding down the Push-To-Talk
button while moving the power switch to t he On position. The LED will flash twice in one second. Once the Bluetooth Radio Adapter and Bl uetooth PTT are paired with each other, the status LED on the adapter will show a constant blue light for three seconds and the LED on the PTT will show one time per 4 seconds.
If the Bluetooth Radio Adapter or Bluetooth PTT don’t detect a compatible
wireless accessory within 60 seconds of being put into pairing mode, the devices will exit the pairing mode an d resume normal operation.
After pairing is successful, turn off the Bluetooth PTT and the two-way radio to
which the Bluetooth Radio Adapter is attached. Wait at least three seconds before continuing to use the two-way radio.
Testing and Using the Bluetooth PTT
After the Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth Adapter and Bluetooth PTT have been paired they are ready to be used:
Turn on the two-way radio to which the Bluetooth Radio A dap ter is c onnected. Turn on the Bluetooth headset. Within a few seconds the LED indicator on the
adapter should show a long flash, indicating the headset and adapter are connected.
Turn on the Bluetooth PTT. Within a few seconds the LED indicator on the
adapter should show a long flash, indicating the headset and adapter are connected. The LED on the Bluetooth PTT should also flash once per 4 seconds.
You will now be able to operate using the wireless accessories. Pressing the
Push-to-Talk button on the Bluetooth PTT will cause the two-way radio to transmit.
Status LED Indications
The function of the various status LED messages shown on the Bluetooth PTT are described in the following table:
