THIS CLEANER WORKS BY SUCKING AIR AT HIGH PRESSURE THROUGH A POWERFUL MOTOR. FOR EFFICIENT AND SAFE OPERATION IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ALL THE AIRWAYS AND FILTERS ARE CLEANED AT REGULAR INTERVALS AND THAT THE DUST IS EMPTIED THE DUST CONTAINER IS FULL AND AFTER EVERY USE OFTHE APPLIANCE.
FAILURE TO CLEAN THE FILTERS AND EMPTY THE DUST CONTAINER WILL RESTRICT THE AIRFLOW. THIS WILL RESULT IN POOR CLEANER PERFORMANCE.

Unpacking The Cleaner
Remove all packaging from the appliance and accessories. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so according to any recycling regulations.

Attaching and Removing the Flexible Hose
To Attach: To Remove:
Push the collar firmly into the Hose Inlet and check that the collar snaps into place.
Press the spring latch in and remove thehose.

Never attach or remove accessories when the vacuum cleaner is switched on.

Attaching the Hose Extensions
You can use the cleaner using only the hose or with one or both extension tube/s fitted.
Attach the handle to one tube Attach the second tube similarly as required

Parking the Attachments Carrying the Cleaner
You can park the floor brush when you are not using it on the Storage Hook located at the rear of the cleaner.
You can also store the cleaner with the tube/s connected to the floor brush which is in turn attached to the hook.
Always carry the cleaner bythehandle.

If you suspect a blockage:
If this does not remove the blockage:
Gently pull the cord from the recess located in the rear of the cleaner. The cord has two marks.
The mark shows the maximum safe length to which you can extend the cord. If you can see the mark the cord has been lengthened too much.
Unplug the cord. The handle incorporates the Cord Release. Press the handle down. Gently guide the cord back by hand into the cleaner until it is fully rewound. Do not letthe cord return unaided or itmaywhip and cause damage or injury.

Fit the appropriate attachments. Extend the power cord to a usable length. Plug the mainsplugintothe mains point.
Press the Mains ON/OFF switch to switch the power ON. (Press again to switch the power OFF)

The suction power can beincreased or decreased by operating the airflow slider in thehosegrip.
Use a low setting for curtains and delicate fabrics.Use a medium setting for long pile and velour carpets or soft textile flooring tiles.
Use a high setting forrough short pile carpets, coir matting and rugs, and hard bare floors.
Move the vacuum head back and forth over the surface. Use even strokes.

Switch off and unplug theappliance. Rewind the power cord.
Disconnect the accessories and store the cleaner in the vertical position or place the cleaner normally with the accessories in the parked position.
If the cleaner loses suction and the dust in the dust cup is below the mark, this may be due to clogged filters or a blockage.
Switch off and unplug

Check the extension tubes and accessories visually and remove any blockage with a stick orbroomhandle.

Empty the dust cup regularly to maintain the efficient performance of the cleaner.
The maximum dirt level is marked onthe Dust Cup.
Failure to do this will impair the efficiency of the
cleaner.
Press the lid release down and lift thelidup
Carefully remove the dust cupfromthecleaner.
Invert the dust cup over a bin. Press the catch on the lid which will pop open. Shake and tap the dust cup lightly to remove as much dust as possible. Close the lid. If you are still vacuuming, replace the cup.
You must empty the Dust Cup before the dirt reaches the MAX mark.
Switch the cleaner off andunplug it.
Cleaning the Dust CupFilter
The HEPA Filter stops nearly all dust particles and airborne allergens from re-entering theair you breathe.

Open the DustCup. Hold the funnel tube of the filter assembly. Rotate the tube to the left (anti-clockwise) to unlock it. Lift the filter assembly out.
Tap thefilter on the edge of a bin to shakeoffany excess dust.
Brush out the HEPA filter with a soft brush. If the filter is soiled, wash it under running wateruntilitis thoroughly clean.
Allow the filter to dryandthenre insert it into the Dust Cup.
When you have finished vacuuming you must clean the dust cup filter.This is essential
NEVER replace a filterif it is damp.

Cleaning the Inlet Filter
The Inlet filter is inside the cleaner. Whenever you remove the Dust Cup, you shouldinspect this filter and clean it.
This filter should be cleaned regularly, and whenever it shows any signs of dirt.
Lift the filter out, brush it thoroughly and if necessary wash it under running water.Allowto dry fully.
If there is any dirt around the inlet cavity carefully brush it out. This will help keep the internal airways clean and maintain top cleaner performance.
When the filter is thoroughly dry replace it in the inlet. Press the filter firmly in to ensure it is firmly trapped in place by the two tetaining tabs in the inletcavity.
NEVER replace a filterwhen it is wet or even damp.
The Exhaust filter is locatedat the rear of the cleaner,
This filter should be cleaned regularly, and whenever it shows any signs of dirt.
Press down on the filter cover.Hingeit out and remove it
Lift the filter out , and wash it under running water. Allow to dry fully.
Brush the outlet cavity out. This will help keep the internal airways clean and maintain cleanerperformance.
When the filter is dry, replace it inthecage.
The filter is a a two-part unit. When replacing the filter the smooth side should be facingout.
NEVER replace a filterwhen it is wet or even damp.
Cleaning the Exhaust Filter
It is essential to inspect clean the filters regularly. The period between inspections will depend on how often and for how long you use the cleaner. The motor inlet and exhaust filters should be checked after every three cleaning sessions.
If the cleaner shows any sign of losing suction, switch off, check and clean the filters and if necessary, clear any blockage.
If a filter shows any sign of wear or damage, or clogging that ordinary cleaning cannot remove it should be replaced. Contact the Tesco helpline number on the last page of this manual for assistance.
The filter in the dust cup should be cleaned whenever you empty the dust.
NEVER operate the cleaner with clogged filters, you could damage the cleaner motor.

Wipe the cleaner body with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do NOT allow water or liquids to penetrate the vacuum cleaner. This could be dangerous.
Store the cleaner safely out of the reach of children and pets.
The cleaner can be stored upright on its base with the hose and accessories disconnected and separately stored. Although the cleaner may be stored fully assembled with the brush in the parked position this is not recommended.

AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF SWITCH
There is a safety switch inside the cleaner to prevent the unit from being run with too high a vacuum rate. If the airways or filters get clogged the pressure in the cleaner will be excessive and the safety switch will be turned on. The cleaner then will stop working to protect the motor from overheating.
If this happens switch off and unplug the cleaner Allow the motor to cool down for one hour and clean the airways and filters thoroughly.Plugthe cleaner in again and switch on: the cleanershouldnowoperate normally.
