UNPACKING
Please follow all the safety precautions listed below for safety and toreduce therisk of injuryor electricalshock.
Read all the instructions carefully before using your liquidiser andkeep themfor futurereference. Unplug the smoothie maker from the mains supply when not in use, when removing or attaching the liquidiserjug, or beforecleaning anypart of theappliance. This smoothie makeris for household use only.Do not use it forprofessional catering. Do notuse thesmoothie makeroutdoors. Do not immersethe base unit or the electricalcord or plug in liquids. Do notuse near asource ofheat or onan unstablesurface. Do notuse thesmoothie makerin damp orwet conditions. Never letchildren operatethis appliance. Closesupervision is necessarywhen thisappliance is usednear children. Ensure that the power cord does not touch any hot surface andthat it doesnot overhangthe edge ofyour worksurface. When unplugging the power cord, hold the plug top, not the powercord. Do not use attachments or accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They may cause malfunction orinjury. Store the smoothie maker away from direct sunlight and out ofthe reachof children.
When operatingyour smoothie maker:
Do not place your hand in the jug. The blade may cause injury.Use athe provided stirrer or aplastic spatula. Never insert any hardobject or implement into the blade area when the appliance is operating. This may cause damage tothe applianceand personal injury. Do not place meat containing bones or fruits with large hard stonesin thejug. If the smoothie maker becomes clogged, switch off and unplug the power cordfrom the mains before clearing the obstruction. Checkcarefully fordamage. There are no user serviceable parts in your appliance. Unauthorised dismantling or servicing will void the product warranty. Do notoperate the productwith a damagedcord or plugor after theappliance or any attachment hasbeen damaged. Seek expertassistance. Do not use the smoothie maker for any purpose not expressly specifiedin thismanual.
Before using this appliance ensure that the voltage of your electricity supplyis thesame as thatindicated on therating plate of theappliance. The appliance cord is terminated with a UK approved mains plug fittedwith a A fuse. If

If the fuse cover is lost or damaged the appliance mustnot beused until asuitable coveris obtained and fitted. It is important thatthe fuse cover fitted corresponds with the colour marking on the base of the plug. If you need to change the mains plug, remove the fuse and dispose ofthe old plug safely after cuttingit fromthe cord. Lift outthe cutterhead and removethe siliconewasher.
Wash the cutter head, blade assembly, the jug, the lid and the stirrer (orstopper) in warmsoapy water,rinse andallow to dry.
CAUTION: Handlethe blade assemblycarefully. It contains moving parts - do not leave it immersed in water for any longer than necessary or you may affect the efficient
running ofthe appliance.Avoid touchingthe blades. Wash and dry the washers and replace them as soon as possible soas notto lose them. DO NOTwash thejug orattachments in adishwasher.
Unscrew thetap headfrom the body Wash bothparts of the tap inwarm soapy water, rinsewell and allowto dryfully.
Reassemblethe tap.
Removethe tap head. Lift the tap lever up and hold it in the raised position. Compress the sleeve assembly to expose the pinand slideit off. Wash and dry the components and thenre-assemble thetap.
It isadvisable to dismantleand re-assemble thetap over abasin to avoidlosing thespring in theevent ofa mishap.

Place the jugand blade assembly on the base and pourin about500 ml ofwarm waterwith ONE dropof detergent. Switch and hold the button for a few seconds to freeany food particlesfrom the blade.Pour awaythe water via the tap into a jug or bowl. Pour in fresh water and repeat. Youmay nowcontinue usingthe appliance.
Switchoff and unplug.
Hold the jug in onehand and the base of the blade assemblyin the other.Rotate itsmartly anticlockwise to unlock.

Before using your smoothie makerfor the first time, wash the jug,blade assembly,lid, stirrer,stopper and dispensing tap inwarm soapywater. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Place the baseunit on a stable surface, freefrom heat and moisture and within easy reach of a mains outlet. The mains cordshould notbe taut Make sure both silicone washersare in place on the blade assembly. Screw the tap firmly to the blade assembly by rotating itclockwise butdo not overtighten.
Place the jug on the blade assembly and rotate it firmly clockwise so that the arrows line up. These arrows are markedas onPage 3.
Place the assembled jug on the motor base and rotate firmly clockwise so that the arrows line up. These arrows are markedas on Page3. The jugmay now befilled.
Cut solid ingredients into 25mm (1") cubes. If the food is very solid,cut thepieces into smallercubes. Fill the jug with the ingredients. You may add any combination of your favourite ingredients, including fruit pieces, juices or yoghourt,fruit purees, etc. Use a recipe or give your imagination freerein! Do not overfill the jug.Although the maximum capacity is
1.75 litres,we suggest youdo not exceedthe 1.5 litremark. If youare preparinga large quantity, usesmaller batches. Always add sufficient amounts of liquids even when making very thick smoothies. NEVER run the smoothie maker without any liquid. Add more liquid for thinner smoothies andjuices.
When theingredients arein the jugplace the lidon the jug. If youare makinga smoothie, insertthe stirrer.
If you are using the appliance as a blender you MUST use thestopper.
Place the stopper in the slots in the lid and turn fully anti­clockwise tolock.

Operational Advice
When youhave finished:

Press the button once. Plug your Smoothie makerinto the mainsand switchon the power. Press the" " buttonto start mixing the ingredients. Leave the appliance in slow mode for 30-45 seconds to fully mix the ingredients. Now press the " " button to select high speed and start making yoursmoothie. Letthe appliance runat high speed until yoursmoothie hasreached the desiredconsistency. While your Smoothie Maker is running, turn the stirrer anti-clockwise tohelp mixthe ingredients thoroughly.
Use this mode to crush small amountsof ice cubes, nuts, frozen fruit, frozenyoghourt, etc. (See"ICE CRUSHING")
Pressand hold the ' ’ buttonfor ashort period. Tostop theoperation, releasethe button. Press" " or " " tocontinue making yoursmoothie.
Toswitch thesmoothie makeroff press "Pulse"once.
Switch thesmoothie makerto Lowspeed (" ") Stir thesmoothie withthe stirrer toblend theingredients. Place a jug or glass under the dispensing tap and depress the lever. If necessary, remove the stirrer and pour some water orjuice through thehole in thelid to improvethe flow. Releasethe tap leverwhen youhave finished pouring.
rinse the jug and stirrer before continuing. Pour half a litre of barely tepid water into thejug, switch the smoothiemaker to high speedfor a few seconds and then switch to low speed. Stir the water with thestirrer andpour it outthrough thetap.
Pressthe button once.Plug yourSmoothie maker into themains andswitch on thepower. Lift thestopper out from thelid. Gradually feed pieces of food or liquids into the jug through thefeeder holein the lid. Replacethe stopper whenyou havefinished. Switch theappliance onat the correctspeed. DO NOTopen thetap.

Crush ice and frozen fruit in Pulse mode. Make sure the pieces aresmall. If your refrigerator features an ice crusher,use crushed icein yoursmoothies rather thancubes. Ice cubesshould becrushed together withliquids.
Do NOTpuree frozenmeat ormeat products inthe appliance.
Press the buttononce. Wait forthe motor to stop. Unplug theappliance fromthe mains. Rotate the jug fully anti-clockwise to release the jug from the locks. Place thejug ona stable worktop andthen remove thelid. Pour orspoon any contents out carefully. Always switchthe appliance off and unplugit afteruse.
MAKE SURE YOU RELEASE THE JUG AND THE BLADE ASSEMBLY/TAPAS ONE ITEM. DONOT RELEASE THE JUG BY ITSELF LEAVING THE BLADE ASSEMBLY AND TAP ATTACHEDTO THEMOTOR BASE.

Note: Do not run the appliance continuously for more than 3 minutes. After a full 3 minute cycle allow the appliance to rest for one minute before using it again.
Always switch the appliance off after use, and after 3 minutes of continuous operation.
