Tips for goodmicrowavecooking
Please read this section in conjunction with the SafetyGuide on Page 2.

Stir liquids and purees before during and after cooking to
distribute the heat evenly. Mashed potato will cook more
evenlyand more thoroughly iflightly covered.
Nevertightly coverfood. Always coverit loosely.
Do not allow plastic film to touch food as it may chemically
break down or melt or even catch fire and contaminate the
food.
Arrange food in the dish so that the thicker part is on the
outside andthe thinner partinside for moreeven cooking.Fold
under the thin edgesof fish fillets and tapered foods. Control
the shape,e.g. bytying a meat roastinto a cylinder,to get more
uniform results.
6-7 minutesper 500gr.will cookmost diced meat,poultry fruit
and vegetables.Seafood takes lesstime.
Different foods require different temperatures to cook. Add
moreminutes as youdrop thepower.
Up to20% ofthe cooking takesplace after theoven turnsoff so
always remember that your food will continue cooking after
you'veremoved it.
Food thattakes anhour into cook ina regular ovenshould take
around15 minutes inthe microwave.
Foods with baking powder should standa few minutes before
cooking toallow theleavening agentsto work.
If arecipe callsfor milkand water,reducethe water.
Rotate large items of food occasionally during cooking to
encourage evenheat distribution.
Food cooks best and reheats better in a round dish or a dish
with curvedsides.
Salt attracts microwaves.Don't just sprinkle it on food before
cooking,stir itin or addit later.
Fats andsugars attract microwaves -thoroughly mixsugar with
other ingredients. Care should be taken when cooking foods
with high sugar or fat contents as they can reach very high
temperatures.
Handle pastry-wrapped foods like mince pies carefully as the
filling getshotter thanthe pastry.
Hints forreheating food
Heat leftovers and pre-cooked food to at least 70°C. Food
should behot andsteaming beforeit is served.
When re-heatingliquids such as meat stewssee that the liquid
boils for around 3-5minutes to ensure the pieces of meat are
completely heatedthrough.
Only defrost food in the microwave if you plan to cook the
food immediately after it has thawed. Some areas of the food
may begin to cook duringdefrosting, which can allow bacteria
can flourish.
Remove the food from the wrapping,place it on a microwave
safe dish.Rotate and re-arrangefood during defrosting.Where
appropriate, stir the food and if possible, separate the food
items andremove thosewhich havealready defrosted.
Steam andSmoke
Steam is a natural product of microwave cooking. It escapes
from thevents in thetop and rear ofthe appliance.These vents
should neverbe blocked.
Steam may condense in and around the oven during cooking
and shouldbe driedoff after use.
If duringcooking,smoke starts tocome from theoven doNOT
open the oven door! Immediately switch off at the mains,
unplug the ovenand wait for the smoketo completely subside
and theoven tofully cooldown beforeremoving the food.
Before you use your microwave oven again,consult a service
technician andhave theoven tested.
TestingYourOven
Placeacupofwaterintheovenandheatitonfullpowerfor2
minutes.If thewater gets hotthe ovenis working.
$ Stuffing inside poultry does not have an opportunity to
completely cook, because the meat outside is heated quickly.
Stuffing forpoultry should becooked before handand inserted
later.
Hints fordefrosting
Please follow all the precautions listed below for safety
and to reduce the risk of injury or electrical shock.
$ Readall the instructionsand retainthem.

electric burner.
Use theappliance ona stable heat-resistantsurface.
Never leave the microwave oven unattended when it is
operational.
Make sure that the power cable does not touch any hot

Do notuse themicrowave ovenoutdoors.
Do notobstruct theventilation slots orplace objectson top
of theoven.
Do not use attachments or accessories notrecommended
by themanufacturer.
Do not use the microwave oven for any purpose not
expresslyspecified in thismanual.
When not in use, do not store utensils, food or other
objects inthe oven.
There are no user serviceable par ts in your microwave
oven. Unauthorised dismantling or servicing will void the
productwarranty.
Only use utensils that are suitable for use in microwave
ovens.
When heating food in plastic or paper containers, keep an
eyeon the ovendue tothe possibility ofignition.
If you use plastic film when re-heatingor cooking food use
only film designedfor microwave ovens and ensurethat the
film does not touchthe food. If necessary,prick the film all
overto allow steamto escape.
Do not use paper or plastic containers, or
plastic film. Utensils for combination-cooking should be
heatproof andmicrowavesafe .
Do notheat oilfor frying,or try tofry food inthe microwave
oven.Theoil couldcatch fire.
Liquids and other foods must not be heated in sealed
containers since they are liable to explod .

The contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars shall be
stirred or shaken and the temperature checked before
consumption,in orderto avoidburns.
Microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed
eruptive boiling, therefore care must be taken when
handling thecontainer.
Failure to maintain theoven in a clean condition could lead
to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect
the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous
situation.
If smokeis observed, switchoff or unplugthe appliance and
keepthe door closedin orderto stifle anyflames.
Before using this appliance ensure that the voltage of your
electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating
plate ofthe appliance
The disconnect device for this appliance is the mainsplug. The
mains plug mustnot be obstructed inany way and mustremain
readilyremoveable fromthe mains supply.

Food can burn if overcooked.If you are unsure about how
long to cooka food for,start with ashort cooking time, and
check thefood regularly.
Clean the inside of your microwave regularly and remove

Use ovengloves wheninser tingand removingutensils when
the grill is on.
When you removeutensils from the oven, placethem on a
heatproofsurface ,oron an insulatingmat.
