1 Introduction
Safety precautions should betaken against electric
appliances inplaces includingmedical institutions,
schools andresidential districts, where people usually
stay fora long time, to prevent patients, babies and senior
citizens fromexposure tohigh electromagnetic waves.
An electromagnetic wave simply meansthe wave motion
of theelectromagnetic field(EMF).
The changein electricfields producesmagnetic fields,
and thechange inmagnetic fieldscan also generate
electric fields. The fluctuation of correlation betweeneach
other isknown as“electromagnetic waves",which is a
form ofenergy similarto light and heat that can be
transmitted eitherby radiation inthe air or by an electric
conductor.
It issuggested that rearrangements should bemade in
families andwork locationswhere electromagnetic fields
are detectedthe strongestin orderto avoid prolonged
exposure to excessive electromagnetic fields.
2 Application
This meter is applied to measuring electromagnetic
fields ofextremely lowfrequency (ELF) of 30 to 300Hz.
It is capable of measuring the electromagnetic field
radiation intensity thatis producedfrom electric
transmission equipment, power line, microwave oven,
air conditioner, refrigerator, computer monitor,
video/audio device andso forth.
The magnetic field unit is Tesla (T), Gauss (G),
mini-Gauss (mG) or micro-Tesla (μT).
1 T=10,000G1 G=1,000mG
1μT=10 mG

5 Measurement Procedures
Pressto power on.
Select forµT unit orfor mGunit.
Position the front (refer to Figure 1) of the meterto
measure the electromagnetic waves. Tryto changethe
measurement angle or position forobtaining the highest
reading value(please referto Figure 2to 6).
Read the measured value. The display of “OL” onthe
left highest positionindicates thereis an overload on
the reading. Please pressto select a higher range
for measurement again.
Due to the environmental magnetic field factors, this
magnetic fieldmeter coulddisplay areading value that
is lowerthan 0.5mGprior to measuring. This is not a
malfunction of the device.
To permanently lock and keep the reading displayed on
the LCD, pressor pressagain to unlock.
To retain the maximum value, pressand the
reading valuedisplayed onthe LCDwill keep updating
to themaximum value.
