lighter in your vehicle. Plug the power cord into

required for immediate operation of the GPS. If
you purchased the Deluxe or Premium WorldNav

has already been inserted into the GPS (you can
see it at the top of the GPS). The Deluxe version
(1 gigabyte card) has been prepared with the

6.9 Changing adapter fuse
In the event that the power cable fails to power the
GPS you can replace the fuse. The end of the
cigarette lighter adapter unscrews, revealing a fuse
just inside the cover. Replace the fuse with a
functioning fuse ( an extra fuse is provided with your
WorldNav product). Replacement fuses (2 Amps) are
readily available from electronics stores.

Troubleshooting Questions

83
9 Troubleshooting Questions
1.
How do I power up my device?
There are two
ways to power the device. The automobile
cigarette lighter provides full power while limited
power is given to the device through the USB
cable connected to your Windows XP computer.
2.
I can't get my device attached to the
windshield.
Place the suction cup firmly on the
window and flip the black switch which draws
suction from the cup to attach the device. In
cooler or drier conditions, you may need to warm
the windshield or moisten the suction cup for
maximum seal.
3.
Why can't I get power via the USB cable?
This
must be a tight connection so if it isn't working
properly, check the connections. When using the
MP3 player, it is recommended to store music on
a Secure Digital Card.
4.
Why aren't the streets labeled?
In 3D mode,
only major thoroughfares are shown. Change to
2D mode to get more labeled streets.
5.
What do I do if I change my destination during
a route?
This requires a <clear route> maneuver
done by pressing <Menu>, then <Route> and on
the second screen, press <Reroute>.
Alternatively, use the <New Route> feature to
create a new route; the old route will be cleared

84
from the display automatically.
6.
What if the GPS can't locate my destination
address?
Some addresses may not be listed.
Change the route to locate the nearest
intersection, or nearest town instead.
7.
What if it seems the device is not showing my
true location?
Sometimes, the device takes a
few minutes to lock in on the satellite signal, after
which your true location will be shown.
8.
I can't get power on my car adapter.
If you can
get power on the USB cable but not in your car, it
is likely that the fuse inside the adapter is blown.
Twist to unscrew the cover (the part that sticks
into the lighter) and replace the fuse with a fresh
one. A spare fuse has been included for your
convenience. Also, make sure that the power
adapter cord is attached to the bottom of the two
holes on the right-hand side of the GPS. The top
hole is for attaching the GPS to the speakers in
your car (see section 6.8-Changing adapter fuse).
