NOTICE: The Canadian Department of Communications label identifies certified equipment. This certification means that the
equipment meets certain telecommunications network protective, operational and safety requirements. The Department does not
guarantee the equipment will operate to the user's satisfaction.
Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissible to be connected to the facilities of the local telecommunications company. The equipment must also be installed using an acceptable method of connection. In some cases, the company's inside wiring associated with a single line individual service may be extended by means of a certified connector assembly
(telephone extension cord). The customer should be aware that compliance with the above conditions may not prevent degradation of service in some situations.
Repairs to certified equipment should be made by an authorized Canadian maintenance facility designated by the supplier. Any
repairs or alterations made by the user to this equipment, or equipment malfunctions, may give the telecommunications company
cause to request the user to disconnect the equipment.
Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical ground connections of the power utility, telephone lines and internal
metallic water pipe system, if present, are connected together. This precaution may be particularly important in rural areas.
Caution: Users should not attempt to make such connections themselves, but should contact the appropriate electric inspection
authority, or electrician, as appropriate.
The Load Number (LN) assigned to each terminal device denotes the percentage of the total load to be connected to a telephone
loop, which is used by the device, to prevent overloading. The termination on a loop may consist of any combination of devices
subject only to the requirement that the total of the Load Numbers of all the devices does not exceed 100. An alphabetic suffix is
also specified in the Load Number for the appropriate ringing type (A or B), if applicable. For example, LN = 20 A designates a
Load Number of 20 and an "A" type ringer.

provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and @an radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
When using your telephone equipment, ba sic safety precautions should always be followe d to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including t he following:
1. Read and understand all instructio ns.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions ma rked on the product.
3. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a da mp cloth for cleaning.
4. Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, k itchen sink, or laundry t ub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool.
5. Do not place this product on an unstable ca rt, stand, or table. The product may fall, causing serious damage to the product.
6. Slots and openings in the cabinet and t he back or bottom are provided for ventilation, to protect it from overheating, these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked b y placing
the product on the bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. This prod uct should not be placed in a built-in installat ion unless proper ventilation is

8. This product is equipped with a three w ire grounding type plug, a plug having a third (grounding) pin. This plug will o nly fit into a grounding t ype power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug
into the outlet, contact your electrician to re place your obso lete outlet. Do not de feat the safety purpose of the grounding type plug.
IF ADAPTER IS PROVIDED WITH A POLARIZED ATTACHMENT PLUG:
This product is equipped with a polarized line plug (a plug having o ne blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to inset the p lug fully into
the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plu g should still not fit, con tact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
9. Do not allow anything to rest on t he power cord. Do not locate this product wher e the cord will be ab used by persons walking on it.
10. Do not overload wall outlets and e xtension cords as this can res ult in the risk of fire or electric shock.
11. Never push objects of any kind into this product t hrough cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous volta ge points or short out parts that could result in a risk of fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the
product.
12. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product, but take it to a qualifie d serviceman when some service or repair work is required. Opening or removing covers may expose yo u to dangerous voltages
or other risks. Incorrect re-assembly can cause elect ric shock when the appliance is subseque ntly used.
13. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel un der the following conditions:
A. When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
B. If liquid has been spilled into the pr oduct.
C. If the product has been exposed to r ain or water.

NOTIFICATION TO THE TELEPHONE COMPANY
Before you may connect your telephone you must notify the telephone company of particular line(s)to which such connections is to be made, and provided to
the telephone company the FCC registration number and ringer equivalence number of the registered protective circuitry. The customer shall give notice to
the telephone company upon final disconnection of such equipment or circuitry from the particular line(s).
MALFUNCTION OF TELEPHONE
In the event that your telephone fails to work properly during your ownership and use of it, you should disconnect it from the telephone line to determine if it is
your phone which is not working properly or if it is problem in the telephone company's network. If the problem is with your telephone you should
discontinue its use until it is repaired.
TELEPHONE CONNECTION REQUIREMENTS
Except for telephone company provided ringers, all connections to the telephone network shall be made through standard telephone company provided jacks,
in such a manner as to allow for easy and immediate disconnection of the terminal equipment. Standard jacks shall be so arranged that if the plug
connected thereto is withdrawn, no interference to the operation of the equipment at the customer's premises which remains connected to the telephone net
work shall occur by reason of such withdrawal. These telephones may not be used on party lines or coin operated lines.
CHANGES IN TELEPHONE COMPANY EQUIPMENT OR FACILITIES
The telephone company is entitled to make changes in its facilities equipment, operations, and procedures. Should these changes be expected to render your
terminal equipment incompatible with the telephone company's facilities you will be given sufficient notice to allow you to make the necessary
modification to your terminal equipment without any interruption of your service.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Never install the telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
2. Never install the telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations.
3. Never touch un-insulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.

CONNECTING THE POWER PACK
The power pack is a fully modular device
that provides the power source to the
3002CID telephone.
To install, simply plug the power pack into a
standard 110V AC power outlet.
A mounting hole is provided to secure the
power pack to the AC outlet.

The power pack also includes two (2) modular jacks labeled “LINE” and “PHONE”. The
combination of these jacks allow for a fully
modular installation by providing both telephone lines and the power source connections to be one continuous line. This avoids
the need for an additional power cord and
neatens the installation.

POWER PACK “LINE” CONNECTION
The power pack “LINE” connection is used to connect
the telephone lines from the wall jack to the telephone.
Using the 3’ modular telephone line cord provided,
connect the first end of the cord to the RJ14 telephone
jack on the wall or base board. The remaining end of
the cord plugs into the “LINE” side of the power pack.

The power pack “PHONE” connection is used to provide both the telephone lines and the power source to
the 3002CID telephone.
Using the 15’ modular telephone line cord provided,
plug the first end of the line cord into the back of the
3002CID. Plug the remaining end to the power pack
jack labeled “PHONE”.
IMPORTANT!
The 3002CID will not function if the line cord connections
are not correct. If the LCD display does not activate
upon installation, make sure that the telephone line cord
connections are not reversed (“LINE”/”PHONE”).

MESSAGE WAITING SELECTOR SWITCH
The 3002CID can support 90VDC neon or low-voltage LED (FSK
compatible) message waiting systems. Simply slide the switch to
the desired position that is compatible with your PBX messaging
system.
Note: the 3002CID is factory preset to the “Neon” setting.
LINE VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH
The 3002CID is designed to operate behind PBX telephone systems
rated between 24 volts and 48 volts. There are line voltage selector
switches that must be set according to the PBX system rating that
the 3002CID will be installed. There are two (2) switches, the first
for Line 1 and the other for Line 2. Each switch has three (3) setting
options. They are: “24V/48V/OFF”. Set the switches by simply sliding to the appropriate setting. The ”OFF” setting is used to turn off
the line if a line appearance is not wired to the telephone.
Note: the 3002CID is factory set to the “24V” setting.

1. Install the mounting wedge to the telephone.
2. Plug one end of the line cord into the line jack on the top of the base unit.
3. Plug the other end of the line cord into the wall jack receptacle.
4. Guide the phone onto the studs on the wall jack.
5. Pull down firmly until you feel it snap into place.
6. The unit is now wall mounted (figure 6).

HANDSET RETAINING HOOK
A removable clip to hold the handset secure when in the wall
mounted position is located below the hook switch.
Remove the clip hook, turn it 180 degrees round and slot it back
into place (figure 5).
CALLER ID (CID) DISPLAY
The 3002CID is equipped with Type I Caller ID technology that will display the name and telephone number of an incoming
caller. The Caller ID feature will work only if you subscribe with your local telephone company to Caller ID service and if your
PBX telephone system is equipped to pass the Caller ID information from the telephone line(s) to the guest room. If you are uncertain whether your PBX telephone system can transfer Caller ID data, contact your telephone system coordinator, your PBX
service company or the PBX manufacturer.
The 3002CID includes a large backlit display. The LCD displays up to three (3) lines with fifteen (16) alpha/numeric characters
per line. The display is back lit for easy viewing in darker room situations during the following operational conditions:
1. Incoming ring
2. In-use (off-hook on handset or speakerphone)

Note:
Caller ID feature will operate ONLY if you subscribe to
Caller ID services* with your local telephone company
OR if your PBX telephone system is equipped with the
technology required to pass Caller ID data from the
telephone line to the guest room.
* Caller ID and Class Visual Message Waiting are features that require subscription to your local telephone
company provided services. These telephone features will not work unless you are a subscriber.
DISPLAYING CALLER ID (CID) INFORMATION
The 3002CID Caller ID feature was designed for use in a hotel guest room
environment primarily for call screening purposes. Caller ID name and
number information will be displayed after the 1st incoming ring signal.
There are two (2) display possibilities for the Caller ID information:
1. Guest Elects To Answer The Call
If the guest elects to answer the incoming call, the Caller ID name and
number information will immediately clear upon answering the call.
2. Guest Elects To NOT Answer The Call
If the guest is not in the room, available or elects to have the incoming call
go to the system voice mail, the Caller ID name & number information will
display for 15 MINUTES and then automatically clear itself.
Note:
If multiple incoming calls are not answered, the LCD will
display the MOST RECENT incoming Caller ID name
and number information. The 3002CID does NOT store
multiple Caller ID calls for reviewing at a later time for
guest security reasons.

DISPLAYING DATE AND TIME
The 3002CID displays the date and time.
The date and time are initialized and controlled by
incoming signals that are received along with the
Caller ID information. After the 3002CID receives its
first incoming call, the date and time data is received
by your telephone company or PBX. The date and
time is automatically initialized and will be displayed
on the LCD. All future incoming calls will continue to
refresh/update the date and time. W hen the data is
received, the date and time is then controlled by the
3002CID.
Note:
The date and time functions are NOT user/installer
programmable. An incoming call must be received
to “initialize” the date and time functions during or
after the installation of the 3002CID.

(Speed Dial Memory)
The 3002CID includes an advanced feature where descriptive text can be
programmed into memory to identify the guest service. This descriptive text
will display when the speed dial key is pressed by the user. For example, if a
guest service key is programmed to access the front desk, “FRONT DESK” will
display when the guest service key is pressed.
GUEST SERVICES DIRECTORY PRE-SETS
The guest service directory includes a library of factory pre-set text word that
describe the most commonly used guest services in a typical hotel application.
During the speed dial programming procedure, the “Volume “ toggle key
is used to “scroll” up & down through the directory.

PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place handset into the handset cradle (on-hook position)
2. Press the “Store” key (figure 1).
3. Dial the digits of the speed dial code using the numeric dial
pad (example shows: 1 2 3 4 5 6) (figure 2).
4. To program the guest service description, press the “Volume
Up/Down” toggle key until the desired text description
appears. (example: FRONT DESK) (figure 3)
5. Press the desired speed dial location key wherein the
memory is to be saved.
If additional numbers/text descriptions are to be
programmed, repeat steps 2 thru 4.

GUEST SERVICES DIRECTORY PROGRAMMING:
Follow the procedure below for programming the memory of the speed dial keys and the guest service directory features.
Each speed dialing/guest service key can be programmed with the speed dialing number and the guest services text description.
NOTE: Programming is performed with the handset unit “on-hook”.
TO VERIFY PROGRAMMING
The memory contents of each speed dial key can be verified or “checked” while the 3002CID unit is in the programming mode.
Note: memory verification is accomplished with the handset in the on-hook position.
1. Place the handset into the cradle (on-hook position).
2. Press the “Store” key until the word “Check” is displayed on the
LCD display (figure 1).
3. Press the memory location (speed dial) key that is to be verified.
The speed dial number and the descriptive text programmed
into memory for that key will be displayed (figure 2).
4. To exit the memory verification mode, press the “Store” key
until the 3002CID is back in its normal/idle state (figure 3).

The 3002CID telephone is equipped to support Neon or LED Message W aiting Systems: . The Message Waiting System (MW) is pre-set to
the LED position. When a Message Waiting (MW) signal is received from the PBX or your local telephone provider, the MW signal lights the
red indicator located on the telephone. This light indicates that a message is on your telephone answering service provider . After this MW
light is programmed, you can push the illuminated MW key to automatically dial in to retrieve your messages.

MESSAGE WAITING SWITCHES
Check with your PBX or your local telephone provider to see what type of signaling is
sent to the telephone. To position the Message W aiting switch in the appropriate location,
simply slide the switch to the position that is compatible with your PBX or Telephone
Company messaging system.
There is one switch located on the bottom side of the base unit underneath the
plastic overlay. To access, remove the clear plastic overlay using a pointed object such
as a paperclip and lift off the clear plastic overlay. Note: disconnect the telephone cord
from the wall jack before setting the message waiting systems.
The signal types are described below:
LED (low voltage LED light, usually used with your local telephone company)
NEON (high voltage lamp, usually used with a PBX system)

TouchLiteTM FEATURE PROGRAMMING
FEATURE DESCRIPTION
TouchLite
TM
is a new innovation that integrates the visual message waiting lamp and a speed dial button, all in one. It allows easy access
for guests to retrieve messages. The message-waiting lamp illuminates to notify the guest that a message is waiting.
A simple press of the red TouchLite
TM
key connects the guest to the message center or front desk. TouchLiteTM also adds an additional
memory location to this telephone.
Programming TouchLiteTM
1. Lift the handset.
2. Press the STORE button to enter the programming mode.
3. Enter the number to be stored using the numeric dial pad. Using the FLASH or REDIAL/PAUSE key to insert a flash or pause into the
number string. A flash or pause is considered as a digit in the digit string.
4. Press the red TouchLite

button where the number is to be stored.
5. A short beep should be heard to indicate a valid entry has been programmed.
6. To exit the programming mode, hang up the handset.

Depending on your model 3002CID configuration, either 5 or 10 phone numbers can be stored into speed dial memory for automatic dialing
of frequent phone numbers. Each location can store up to 24 digits.
Programming Speed Dial Memory
1. Lift the handset.
2. Press the STORE key. A short beep will sound.
3. Enter the numbers to be stored using the numeric dial pad.
4. Press the desired memory location wherein the number is to be stored.
5. A long beep should be heard to indicate a valid entry has been
programmed.
6. If additional numbers are to be stored, repeat steps 3 thru 5.
7. Hang up the handset.

Programming A Pause into Memory
A multiple of 3.6 second pauses can be programmed into the speed dial memory. This function
allows the user to delay the dialing pattern of a number. This function may be required for
accessing line features provided by your telephone system or local telephone company. A speed
dial number may need to pause during its dialing sequence to insure proper connections. For
example, you may need to add a Pause after dialing “9” to access a line and/or connect to the
outside line.
To Program A Pause Into
Speed Dial Memory
1. Press the STORE key.
2. Press the Pause key or enter digits using
the keypad prior to the Pause time delay.
The Pause key can be programmed into
the numbering sequence multiple times.
3. Continue with Speed Dial programming.
4. See Speed Dial Programming in this manual for further programming instructions.
Note: The default Pause timing is 3.6 Seconds.

VISUAL LINE STATUS INDICATORS
The 3002CID telephone is equipped with visual LED
indicators to show the current status of the line.
They will illuminate as follows:
LINE 1 and LINE 2 RINGING (figure 1)
A blinking RED light indicates that the Line is ringing.
LINE 1 and LINE 2 IN-USE (figure 2)
A Solid GREEN light indicate that Line 1 and/or Line 2 is active or in-use.
HOLD (figure 3)
Solid RED light above Line 1 or Line 2 indicate that Line 1 and/or Line 2 are on hold.
SPEAKER (figure 4)
A solid RED light above the Speaker Key indicates the telephone is in the speakerphone
mode.
CONFERENCE (figure 5)
A solid GREEN light above LINE 1 and LINE 2 indicate the telephone is in the conference
call mode.

A solid RED light above the Mute Key indicates the telephone is in the mute mode.

PLACING A CALL USING THE HANDSET
Lift the handset; the phone will automatically select line 1. If
line 1 is in-use, lift the handset and manually select line 2.
Listen for dial tone and adjust the volume control if necessary.
Dial out by using the numeric dial pad or by pressing the
speed dial button.
To end the call, place the handset on hook.
RECEIVING A CALL
When the phone rings, select the line and pick up the handset
or press the speaker button.
Adjust the volume control if necessary.

The 3002CID feature state-of-the art “soft” key technology. Line 1 is designed as the primary line. When calls are answered or placed,
a simple lift of the handset (or activate the speakerphone) will obtain line 1. Pre-pressing the line 1 key is NOT required on an incoming call. If a call comes into Line 2, the Line Key must be pressed to receive the call.

OPERATION
USING THE HOLD FEATURE
The “Hold” key is used to place a caller on hold. To use, simply
press the “Hold” key. The line key will illuminate solid RED
indicating that the line is on hold.
When placing a caller on hold, the handset can be returned to its
on-hook position. The line will not be disconnected. To return to
the caller, lift the handset or press the “Speaker” key for handsfree operation, then select the line the caller is on.
Hold can also be released by selecting the line key.

USING THE MUTE FEATURE
A “Mute” key is provided to allow privacy during a background
conversation. When the “Mute” key is activated, the microphones
in the handset and the speakerphone are disabled. When the
“Mute” feature is activated, the caller will not hear your voice.
The light above the “Mute” key will illuminate to show that the
feature is activate. To de-activate, press the “Mute” key again.

OPERATION
USING THE CONFERENCE KEY
The “Conference” key is used to establish a 3- way conversation. The
conference feature is activated by a “soft” key that will automatically reset
when hanging up.
A 3-way “Conference” call can be established while using either the handset or Speakerphone. To use the “Conference” feature:
1. Place the line that is currently in-use on hold by pressing the “Hold” key.
The line status indicator will turn from Green to Red.
2. The second call can be established by selecting the idle line key and
dialing the call.
3. When the second call is established, activate the 3-way conference call
by pressing the “Conference” key. Line 1 and Line 2 will automatically
“bridge” together and all the three parties can now converse. The LED
lights will turn solid green.
4. To end the call, simply hang-up by placing the handset back in its cradle (on-hook) or by pressing the “Speaker” key.
5. If you wish to continue speaking with one of the callers and wish to “drop” the other caller, simply press the line key of
the caller you wish to continue speaking with. The other caller will automatically drop-off.

The Flash function allows the user to dial a timed line break in the sequence of the dialing patterns when using the speed dial keys. This
function may be required for accessing line features provided by your telephone system or local telephone company. The FLASH function is
used to access PBX features or Telco line features such as Call Waiting.
To STORE Flash into Memory Dialing:
•Lift the handset.
•Press the “STORE” key.
•Enter the numbers from the keypad (if needed)
•Press the “FLASH” key to store the FLASH into any location of the number sequence.
•Press the memory key location key where the number is to be stored.
•Continue programming another number or hang up to end the programming.

RINGER VOLUME CONTROL
The Ringer Volume Control Switch is located on the right side of the telephone base.
The switch has a setting option for HI/LOW.
HANDSET VOLUME CONTROL
The 3002CID telephone is equipped with an ADA compliant handset volume control located on the face of the phone.
When the “Volume” key is pressed, the volume of the handset receiver is increased by 12-15 decibels.
The “Volume” key is a rocker switch volume control. When pressed in the upward
arrow position, the volume will increase. When pressed in the downward arrow
position, the volume will decrease.

The 3002CID telephone is equipped with a convenient port on the right side of the base unit.
This modular receptacle is used to plug in any standard telephone device such as a computer
modem, answering machine or fax machine.

Keep the telephone dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic
circuits.
Use and store the telephone only in normal temperature
environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of
electronic devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic
parts.
Keep the telephone away from excessive dust and dirt that can
cause premature wear of parts.
Wipe the telephone with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it
looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents,
or strong detergents to clean the system.

STATEMENT OF LIMITED WARRANTY
TeleMatrix, Inc. (“TeleMatrix”) warrants to its customers that products manufactured by TeleMatrix are free from defects in materials and
workmanship. TeleMatrix’s obligations under this warranty are limited to repairing or replacing , at TeleMatrix’s option, the part or parts
of the products which are reported defective within FIVE (5) years after the date of purchase. TeleMatrix will, at its option, either repair
the defective products or parts or deliver replacements for defective products or parts on an exchange basis to buyer. Products returned
to TeleMatrix under this warranty will become the property of TeleMatrix.
All warranties are subject to the following conditions:
1. If the telephones have been damaged, abused, adjusted, modified or tampered with by other than TeleMatrix authorized personnel, the warranties
above are voided.
2. Improper installation, maintenance, misuse or any cause other than ordinary application will void the above warranties.
3. This warranty is good only in the United States Of America and Canada and Europe.
4. The cost and risk of loss or damage for sending the phone to TeleMatrix will be borne by you TeleMatrix will pay to return the repaired phone to you.
5. Warranties on phones repaired by TeleMatrix are good until the end of the original warranty or 90 days whichever is longer.
6. All warranties are void from defects caused by fire, flood, natural disaster or acts of God. Proof of date of purchase is required to be submitted with
the phone when returned for warranty repair.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or exclusions or limitations of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
The foregoing TeleMatrix limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, whether oral, written expressed, implied or statutory. Implied
warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose do not apply. TeleMatrix warranty obligations hereunder are solely and
exclusively as stated herein.
TeleMatrix liability, whether based on contract, tort, warranty, strict liability or any other theory, shall not exceed the price of the individual
unit whose defect or damage is the basis of the claim. In no event shall TeleMatrix be liable for any loss of profits, loss of use of facilities
or equipment, or other indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
