1．Introduction of the Wireless Internet USB Modem

1.1 Introduction

The Wireless internet USB Modem is based on the CDMA 1X/EVDO network wireless
internet modem. It utilizes the USB interface and it can be easily inserted into a USB port on a
computer. Through the CDMA 1X/EVDO mobile network, both text receipt and data services can
be received at any time, from any location.*

1.2 Safety Warnings and Precautions

Personal Use

 Use of RF devices, including this wireless internet modem, may possibly cause interference

on electronics with inadequate shielding, such as certain electronic systems in motorized

vehicles. When necessary, please inquire to the manufacturer about said equipment before

using this wireless internet modem.

 Please note the following when using this wireless internet modem with certain medical

devices, such as hearing aids and pacemakers: Maintain a distance of 20 cm between the

wireless internet modem and such medical devices. Turn off the wireless network modem

when necessary. If you have any other questions, please inquire to the manufacturer of the

device for more information before using the wireless internet modem.

 Please note that use of the wireless internet modem may be restricted in locations with

special requirements, such as hospitals, storage facilities for oil products, or places such as

chemical factories where explosive materials are produced or processed. Please cease use

of the wireless internet modem when requested.

 Please keep the wireless internet modem out of children’s reach. This is not a toy. Damage

or injury may result from misuse.

Your Wireless Internet USB Modem

 This wireless internet USB modem is to be used only with its original accessories, or

accessories as approved by the manufacturer. Use of any other unapproved accessories may

affect the usability and performance of the wireless internet modem and may violate the

terms and conditions of the warranty for this product, and may violate national regulations

relating to communication terminal products.

 Please avoid using this device near metal structures or devices that emit electromagnetic

waves, as they can affect signal reception.

 This device is not water resistant. Please keep dry and store in a cool, dry location.
 Please do not use this device immediately after significant temperature changes as

condensation can occur on the inside and outside of the device. Please wait for the

condensation to clear before use.

 Please handle this device carefully. Please do not drop, bend, or strike the device, as it may

become permanently damaged.

 This device contains no user-serviceable parts. Please do not open. Repairs can only be

made by qualified professionals.

 Recommended operating environmental conditions: 0°C to +55°C, 5% to 95% humidity.

Notes for use on Airplanes

Please turn off the wireless internet modem prior to takeoff. To prevent interference with

the onboard communication system, in-flight use of the wireless internet modem is
prohibited. Before takeoff, please use in accordance with safety regulations and as
permitted by crew members.

1.3 Scope of Use

The Wireless internet USB Modem supports the majority of modern computers.

1.4 Operating Environment for the Application Software

Operating System: Windows XP/Vista/7, Apple Macintosh 10.4.7 and up

Recommended Configuration: Intel Pentium III or greater CPU

Hard Drive: 20 M or greater

Memory: 128M or greater

Max SD capacity is 8G.

Configurations less than the above recommendations may affect the usability and
performance of this wireless internet modem.

2.1 Package Inspections

Please inspect the package for the following item(s): wireless internet USB modem, pouch,
USB cable, lanyard (if provided).

2.2 Appearance

2.3 Hardware Installation

Plug the wireless internet modem into the computer:

Plug the wireless internet modem into a USB port on the computer. The LED indicator on
the wireless internet modem will initially turn red to note power. The LED will turn blue when
connected to the network and will indicate the following status.

 Red: no service, modem is not connected to the network
 Steady blue: modem is ready for use, but it is not connected to the Internet.
 Quick blinking blue: modem is connected to the Internet and is active. You are using the

connection.

 Slow blinking blue: modem is connected to the Internet, but is dormant. You are not

using the connection.

2.4 Software Installation

All software needed to run the modem has been preinstalled into the modem itself. No
additional disks or drivers are needed.

Plug the Wireless internet USB Modem into a USB port on the computer. If the computer
supports automatic installation, the following installation interface will be displayed.

If the computer does not support automatic installation, please execute autorun.exe from
the device automatically generated by the system in “My Computer”.

The following installation interface will appear and the installation will start.
