This document provides general installation requirements and site preparation for the CombiFlash EZ Prep system.

Temperature
Humidity < 90% Always maintain adequate ventilation to control vapors and ELSD exhaust.
Electrical
Nominal Voltage ± 10% (Example: 117VAC ± 11.7VAC) One outlet is required.
Solvents
Four solvent capable.
Gas Requirement- Nitrogen Recommended
Purity 98% Pressure 65± 5 psi (4.2-8.3 bar) Gas Consumption <2.51 l/min, max System Connection 0.125" od, semi-rigid tubing
Space Requirement
Ensure that adequate space is provided for the flash system solvent supply bottles and waste containers.
Recommended range: 20 - 30 °C Maximum range: 15 - 40 °C
Demo/Installation Supplies Required
• Nitrogen tank, house nitrogen line, or nitrogen
generator
Note
The CombiFlash system needs to be less than 20 ft away from the nitrogen source.
• Two adjustable wrenches for nitrogen line hook up
• 65 psi gas pressure regulator connected to nitrogen
• Teflon tape
• 4 inlet solvents in 4 L bottles (Hexane, Ethyl
Acetate, Water (HPLC Grade), Acetonitrile)
• Test tubes for rack (18x150 mm standard)
• Waste container- 4 L bottle
• Sample loop waste container- 100 ml flask
• Guard column and Prep column of choice
• 1 mL and 10 ml injection syringes for sample
injection and sample loop wash
• 20 mL of IPA to fill P-trap on ELSD
• Secondary containment for solvent and waste
containers, if necessary.
