REPARING TO USE THE CL1100 SERIES TELEPHONE
HANDSET
1)Prepare to install the battery into the handset by first removing the rubber screw cover
and the screw beneath. Then firmly press down on the top of the battery compartment
cover and slide it towards the bottom of the handset until it is removed.
2)Insert the battery connector into the connector inside the handset.
3)Replace the battery compartment cover, retaining screw and rubber screw cover.
Note:
The handset may emit a “beep” tone when the battery is connected. The “ON”
key will blink to indicate the handset is searching for the base. It will stop blinking
when the handset is registered to base. This is an indication that the telephone is ready
to be used. To ensure optimal performance of the telephone char ge the battery overnight.
See charging details under “Charging the Battery.”
BASE
1)Insert either end of the RJ-45 cable into the jack on the back of the telephone labeled
“LINE.”
2)Insert the other end of the cable into the jack on the AC adapter labeled “PHONE.”
Note:
The base may emit a “beep” tone when the power is switched on.
3)Insert one end of the RJ-11 line cord into the jack on the AC adapter labeled “LINE.”
4)Insert the other end of this line cord into a telephone wall outlet jack.
5)Plug the AC adapter into an available, unswitched electrical wall outlet.
6)Remove the plastic overlay and place the paper faceplate over the keys. Replace the
plastic overlay by hooking the tabs on the overlay into the recessed slots located on
both sides.
Hint
: The overlay is easiest to insert when the left or right side tabs are inserted first,
and the middle of the overlay is slightly bowed to allow for insertion of the other tabs.
7)Place the cordless handset on the base unit.
Note: The speakerphone may turn on and speakerphone LED illuminate when the
base unit is first powered on. Press the Speakerphone “On/Of f” button to reset the
speakerphone to the off position.
TO PERFORM BASE/HANDSET REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
TO REGISTER THE CL1100 SERIES HANDSET TO THE BASE:
1)Connect base unit to energized power outlet and working telephone line.
2)On the handset, press and hold the line “OFF” button and simultaneously connect
the battery to the battery connector. When you hear a repeating two-tone melody and
the “ON” key flashes red, release the line “OFF” button and press number ‘7’ on the
keypad. The two-tone melody will change in pitch. The telephone is now in registration mode. During this period it also clears (deregisters) the previous base/handset
registration information.
2)On the base unit, immediately press and hold the “PAGE” button on the base. Once
you hear two beep tones, release the button. The “ON” button will continue to flash
red, and the two-tone melody will continue while the handset searches for the base.
The melody will change to a four-tone note, and shortly after the red “ON” light will
extinquish. The handset then emits another two beep tones to confirm registration.

The maximum number of handsets that can be registered with a single base unit is 5 (five).

HARGING THE BATTERY
The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery must be fully char ged before using the
phone for the first time. It is recommended that the battery pack be char ged overnight
(or for at least 12 hours) without interruption before the first use. To charge the battery,
place the handset, keypad down, in the base unit. Ensure that the “CHARGE” LED on the
base illuminates. If the LED does not light, check the following:
a)Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged into a working unswitched AC outlet.
b)Ensure that the contacts on the bottom of the handset bottom are making good contact
with the base unit charging contacts.
CLEANING THE
BATTERY CONTACTS
To maintain the handset in fully-charged condition, it is important to clean all char ging contacts on the handset and base unit. Use a pencil eraser or other contact cleaner . Do not use
any liquids or solvents to clean these contacts.
ADJUSTING THE BASE RING VOLUME
To adjust the ringer volume of the base unit, locate the respective “Line Ringing Volume”
adjustment control on the back of the telephone labeled “RINGER LOW/HI.” Slide the
switch to the desired setting.
ADJUSTING THE HANDSET RING VOLUME
The handset ring volume can be adjusted by pressing the volume “UP” and “DOWN” keys
on the handset during the ringing or idle mode.
ADJUSTING SPEAKERPHONE VOLUME
To adjust the speakerphone volume, press the volume “UP” and “DOWN” keys on the base
unit. Press volume “UP” key to increase the volume level. Press the volume “DOWN” key
to decrease volume level.
ADJUSTING HANDSET RECEIVE VOLUME
To adjust the handset receiver volume, press volume “UP” and “DOWN” keys on the handset while the handset is on line. Volume control is also available during mute.
LIGHTED KEYPADS
The keypad on the handset will illuminate if one of the keys is pressed. It will turn of f after
a few seconds. If the “ON” key is pressed, the keypad will illuminate and then go of f after
a few seconds, except the “ON” key. This is to indicate that the phone handset is on. The
light will turn off when the “OFF” key is pressed.

OW BATTERY INDICATOR
When the handset battery level is low, the LED indicator will blink when the phone is not
in use. When the phone is in use, the LED will blink and the handset will emit a beep tone.
Return the handset to the base cradle for rechar ging as soon as is practical.

ROGRAMMING THE HOTEL SERVICES DIRECT ACCESS KEYS
The CL1100 series has either six (model CL1106) or eleven (model CL1111) programmable
hotel services direct access (or auto dial) keys (M1-M6/M1 1.) These keys can be programmed to automatically dial telephone numbers or activate telephone system features.
These keys can only be programmed from the base unit. To program the keys, follow these
steps:
1)Connect the CL1100 series to a working telephone line.
2)Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key. The speakerphone LED will illuminate.
3)Enter the target telephone number, including “PAUSE” as required. The number
sequence can be up to 32 digits long, including PAUSE and FLASH.
4)Press the “STORE” key twice.
5)Press the auto dial key where the number is to be stored.
6)Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key to disconnect. The speakerphone LED will go out.
RECEIVING A CALL
When the CL1100 series receives an incoming call, both the base and handset will emit an
audible ringing tone. The message LED and the “ON” key LED on the handset will be
flashing, following the ring cadence. To take the call:
with the handset not
on the base cradle:
1)Pick up the handset.
2)Press the “ON” key to answer the call.
3)The “ON” LED will illuminate.
4)To end the call, place the handset on the base cradle, or press the “OFF” key .
with the handset resting on the base cradle:
1)Pick up the handset.
2)The handset will automatically answer the call and the “ON” LED will illuminate.
3)To end the call, place the handset on the base cradle, or press the “OFF” key .
USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
1)Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key on the base unit. The speakerphone will answer
the call. The “SPEAKERPHONE” LED will turn on to indicate that speakerphone is
activated.
2)To end the call, press “SPEAKERPHONE” key again. The “SPEAKERPHONE”
LED will turn off.

call to be diverted from the base to the handset.

LASH ON BASE
The “FLASH” key is dedicated to perform a timed loop break while the speakerphone is in
use. Flashes can be stored in memory dial sequences. There are three flash programming
keys (recessed) to select different flash times.
FLASH ON HANDSET
Redial is active when the “FLASH” key is pressed. The numbers that have been dialed
while using the phone will be redialed when the “REDIAL” button is pressed after pressing
the “FLASH” key.

O MUTE THE HANDSET
The “MUTE” key is used to deactivate the handset microphone, while allowing the user to
hear the other end of the conversation through the handset.
1)Press the “MUTE” key to activate. The “MUTE” LED will illuminate.
2)To turn off the mute feature, press “MUTE” again. The “MUTE” LED will turn off.
TO
MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE
1)Press the “MUTE” key on base. The “MUTE” LED will illuminate, to indicate that
mute is active.
2)Press the “MUTE” key again to disable mute. The “MUTE” LED will turn off.
PAUSE
Pause can be entered during off-hook manual dialing and chain dialing. This is a means of
allowing a complex number to be redialed. Pause has been inserted for the handset and the
base. Pause can be stored into the memory of hotel services direct access keys.
PAGING
This key initiates a handset page. When paging is active, the handset will beep. The message LED and the “ON” LED key on the handset will flash. To page:
1)Press “PAGE” key on the base. The handset will beep.
2)The handset will stop beeping if answered, by pressing “ON” or “OFF” key on the
handset or by pressing the “PAGE” key on the base again.
Note:
The handset will not beep if the handset is in use.
Note:
If the page is stopped by pressing the “ON” or “OFF” key within 30 seconds of
receipt of the page from the base, the handset cannot receive another page immediately.
M
ESSAGE WAITING
When a voice message waiting signal is received, the message-waiting LEDs on both the
handset and base will blink. Both LEDs will turn of f once the message has been retrieved.

The CL1200 series has either five (5) or ten (10) programmable

To answer the call using the speakerphone:
1. Press the line key for the ringing line. The speakerphone will
go “off-hook”, answering the line.
2. Or, press the SPKR key. The speakerphone will go “off-hook”,
answering the line.
3. To end the call,press the SPKR key again.
PLACING A CALL
Using the handset:
1. Pick up the handset and press the LINE key. Listen for dial
tone and dial the desired number.
2. After the call is complete,press the LINE key again to end
the call.
Using the speakerphone:
1. Press the LINE key, or press SPKR.
2. Listen for dial tone,and dial the desired number,or press an
auto dial key to dial a preprogrammed number.
3. After the call is complete,press the SPKR key to end call.
REDIAL
The CL1200 series can automatically redial the last number dialed.
On the handset,press the REDIAL key to redial the last number .
USING THE HOLD KEY
The HOLD key places the call on hold locally at the cordless
telephone.
T
o place a call on hold:
1. With a call active,press the red HOLD key on either the
handset or base unit.
2. The red line LED will slowly blink,indicating the call is on hold.
T
o remove a call from hold:
1. Press the line key of the call on hold.This will remove the
call from hold, making the call active again.
2. The red line LED will return to steady illumination,indicating
the line is active.
T
o change phones after placing a call on hold:
1. Place the call on hold as above.
2. Pick up the call at another telephone that is on the same
line.The telephone will activate the line and remove the hold
at the original telephone.
TO MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE
1. Press the MUTE key on the base unit.The red LED above
the MUTE key will illuminate.The party on the other end
will not be able to hear you when the MUTE LED is lit.
2. Press the MUTE key again to turn off the mute feature.
The MUTE LED will go out.
CONVERTING FROM DESK TO WALL MOUNT
The CL1200 series can be adapted for wall mounting applications.
The conversion is easiest to make when the handset and cords
are not connected.
1. Located on the handset cradle,above the speaker grill,is the
wall/desk mount clip.Remove this clip by firmly pushing it
upward towards the top of the phone.
2. Flip the clip over (top to bottom) so that the protruding edge is
towards the top of the phone and replace it in its slot.This edge
will hold the handset when the phone is mounted on the wall.
3. Turn the telephone over so the bottom is up,facing you.
Place it on a non-abrasive surface to prevent scratching.
4. Locate and remove the mounting bracket.Firmly push back
and pull up to remove two of the four retaining tabs.
5. Rotate the mounting bracket 180º degrees clockwise
, so that
the mounting eyelet on the bracket is facing in the same
direction as the other mounting eyelet located on the
bottom of the telephone.
6. Insert the top two retaining tabs of the mounting brackets
into the mounting bracket slots (located near the middle of
the telephone).Then firmly push down to insert the retaining
tabs on the opposite side of the mounting bracket.
7. Connect a 15-foot RJ-45 cord into the LINE jack on the back
of the phone.
8. Turn the telephone over,and slide the telephone down onto
the mounting posts of the wall bracket.Ensure that both
eyelets line up with the mounting posts.

PREPARING TO USE THE CL1900 SERIES TELEPHONE
1.Prepare to install the battery into the cordless handset by firmly pressing down on the
top of the battery cover and sliding it off.
2.Locate the lightly embossed numbers “1” and “2” on the battery’s plastic connector.
3.Insert the battery connector into the handset’s connector with the embossed numbers
facing up.
NOTE:
The handset may “beep” when the battery is connected. This is not an
indication that the telephone is ready to use. To obtain optimal performance of the
telephone, be sure to charge the battery for 15 to 20 hours.
4.Replace the battery compartment cover and retaining screw.
5.Insert the provided rubber screw cover.
6.Turn the telephone base so the back panel is facing you. Insert either end of the RJ-45
cable into the jack on the back of the telephone labeled “LINE.”
7.Insert the other end of the cable into the jack on the AC adapter labeled “PHONE”.
8.Insert one end of the RJ-11 line cord into the jack on the AC adapter labeled “LINE.”
9.Insert the other end of this line cord into a telephone wall outlet jack.
10. Plug the AC adapter into an available, unswitched electrical wall outlet.
11. Remove the plastic overlay and place the paper faceplate over the keys. Replace the
plastic overlay by hooking the tabs on the
overlay into the recessed slots located on both sides.
HINT
: The overlay is easiest to insert when the left or right side tabs are inserted first,
and the middle of the overlay is slightly bowed to allow for insertion of the other tabs.
12. Place the cordless handset on the base unit’s charging cradle.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery must be fully charged before using
the phone for the first time. It is recommended that the battery pack be charged for approximately 15 to 20 hours without interruption before use. To charge the battery, place the
handset, keypad down, in the base unit. Make sure the “CHARGE” LED on the base
lights. If the LED does not light:
1.Verify that the AC adapter is plugged in to a live, UNSWITCHED outlet.
2.Verify that the handset is making good contact with the base unit charging contacts.

CLEANING THE BATTERY CONTACTS
To maintain a good charge, it is important to clean all charging contacts on the handset and
base unit. Use a pencil eraser or other contact cleaner. DO NOT use any liquids or solvents.
ADJUSTING THE RING VOLUME
To adjust the ringer volume of the base unit, locate the respective “Line Ringing Volume”
adjustment control on the back of the telephone labeled “RINGER LOW/HI” (see telephone
diagram on inside front cover.) Slide the switch to the desired “LOW” or “HI” ring volume
for each line.
ADJUSTING SPEAKERPHONE VOLUME
The speakerphone has eight (8) volume levels. When the speakerphone is activated, the
volume is set at level six (6). To adjust the volume, locate the VOLUME arrow keys,
labeled with “up” and “down” arrows. Pressing the “up” arrow key decreases the volume
level while pressing the “down” arrow key increases the volume. Once the telephone is on
hook for over two seconds, the volume will reset to level six (6). If the speakerphone is off
hook for less then two seconds, the volume will not be reset, and continue to be set at the
last-used volume level.
ADJUSTING HANDSET RECEIVE VOLUME
The handset has four (4) levels. When the handset is activated, the volume is set at level
two (2). Locate the VOLUME arrow keys, labeled with “up” and “down” arrows. Pressing
the “up” arrow key decreases the volume level while pressing the “down” arrow key
increases the volume. Disconnecting the call for over two seconds will reset the volume to
level two (2). If the handset is off hook for less then two seconds, the volume will not be
reset and continue to be set at the last-used volume level.
AUTO-DIAL KEY PROGRAMMING
The CL1905 has five (5) programmable auto-dial (guest service) keys and the CL1910 has
ten (10) auto-dial keys. These keys can be programmed to automatically dial telephone
numbers, or to activate telephone system features. The auto-dial keys can only be
programmed from the base unit.
1.Connect the CL1900 series telephone to a working telephone line.
2.Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key.
3.Press the recessed “STORE” key and release it. (Please see diagram on inside front
cover for key location).
4.Enter the telephone number, including PAUSE* as required. The sequence can be up
to 15 digits, including PAUSE.
5.Press the “STORE” key again.
6.Press the auto-dial key where the number is to be stored.
7.Repeat steps 3-6 above for each guest service button, as necessary.
8.Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key to disconnect.
*A 3.6 second pause can be entered into a dialing sequence by pressing the “REDIAL”
key for each PAUSE required.
RECEIVING A CALL
An audible ring and flickering red LED indicate an incoming call.
To answer a call when the handset is not on the base unit:
1.Pick up the handset.
2.Press the line “ON/OFF” key. The handset will go off hook, answering the call.
3.To end the call place the handset in the base or press the line “ON/OFF” key on the
handset.
To answer a call when the handset is on the base unit:
1.Remove the handset from the base. The handset will automatically turn on, connecting
the call.
2.To end the call, replace the handset in the base, or press the line “ON/OFF” key on the
handset.
To answer a call using the speakerphone:
1.Press the “SPEAKER” key. The telephone will select the ringing line and answer with
the speakerphone active.
NOTE
: The red “SPEAKER” LED will indicate that the speakerphone is active.
PLACING A CALL USING THE HANDSET
1. Press the “ON/OFF” key handset. The telephone will go off-hook.
2. Listen for dial tone, dial the desired number.
3.To end the call, press the “ON/OFF” key again.
PLACING A CALL USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
1.Press the “LINE” or “SPKR” key. The telephone will go off hook with speakerphone
active.
2.Listen for dial tone, dial the desired number.
3.To end call the call press the “SPKR” key again.
REDIAL ON BASE
Dials the last number dialed.
REDIAL/FLASH ON HANDSET
Dials the last number dialed when a new call is being made. During a call, this button will
initiate a 600 ms hook flash when pressed.
USING THE HOLD KEY
The “HOLD” key places the call on hold locally at the cordless telephone.
To place a call on hold:
1.With a call active, press the red “HOLD” key on either the handset or base unit.
2.The red line “LED” will change to a slow blink indicating the call is on hold.
TO REMOVE A CALL FROM HOLD
1.Press the “LINE” key, located next to the “HOLD” key. This will remove the call
from hold, making the call active on either the speakerphone or handset.
2.The red line “LED” will return to the non-blinking, in-use condition.

TO CHANGE TELEPHONES AFTER PLACING A CALL ON HOLD
1.Place the call on hold as above.
2.Pick up the call at another telephone on the same line. The telephone will detect the
pickup and remove the hold condition at the original telephone.
TO MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE
1.Press the “MUTE” key on the base. The red LED above the “MUTE” key will light.
The party on the other end will not hear you while the “MUTE” light is illuminated.
2.Press the “MUTE” key again to turn off the mute feature. The “MUTE” indicator
LED will extinquish.
MESSAGE WAITING INDICATOR
When a voice message waiting signal is received, the message-waiting LEDs on both the
handset and base will blink. Both LEDs will turn off once the message has been retrieved.
CONVERTING FROM DESK TO WALL MOUNT
The CL1900 series cordless telephone can easily be used in wall mount applications.
The conversion to wall mount is easiest when the handset and cords are not connected.
1.Located on the top of the telephone, above the speaker grill, is the wall/desk mount
clip. Remove this clip by firmly pushing upward (towards the hookswitch).

1)Prepare to install the battery into the handset by first removing the rubber screw cover
and the screw beneath. Then firmly press down on the top of the battery compartment
cover and slide it towards the bottom of the handset until it is removed.
2)Insert the battery connector into the connector inside the handset.
3)Replace the battery compartment cover, retaining screw and rubber screw cover.
Note:
The handset may emit a “beep” tone when the battery is connected. The “ON”
key will blink to indicate the handset is searching for the base. It will stop blinking
when the handset is registered to base. This is an indication that the telephone is ready
to be used. To ensure optimal performance of the telephone charge the battery overnight.
See charging details under “Charging the Battery.”
BASE – HANDSET REGISTRATION PROCEDURE (FOR HOTEL TECHNICAL SERVICE PERSONNEL ONLY)
To register the CL2100 series handset to the base:
1)Press and hold the “CONF” key until a running light appears on the handset “Line 1,”
“Line 2” and “CONF” LED’s.
2)Press the numbers 4, 5 and 6 (in sequence) on the keypad. The “Line 1,” “Line 2” and
“CONF” LED’s will be flashing. Immediately press and hold both the “PAGE” key
and the “HOLD” key on the base simultaneously, until two continuous beeps are
heard from the base unit. When a link between the base and handset is established,
the “Line 1” and “Line” 2 LED’s on handset will be in a steady “on” state. When
both LED’s turn off, the registration procedure is completed.
3)To confirm the handset is successfully registered to the base, press the “PAGE” key on
the base. The handset will beep for a short period. The handset will stop beeping if it
is answered, by pressing the “Line1” or “Line 2” keys on the handset, or by pressing
the “PAGE” key on the base again.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery must be fully charged before using the

To charge the battery, place the handset, keypad down, in the base unit. Ensure that the
“CHARGE” LED on the base illuminates. If the LED does not light, check the following:
1)Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged into a working, unswitched AC outlet, and that
the RJ-45 cord is plugged into both the telephone and the AC adapter in the phone
position.
2)Ensure that the contacts on the bottom of the handset are making good contact with
the base unit charging contacts.

ADJUSTING THE HANDSET RING VOLUME
The handset ring volume can be adjusted by pressing the volume “UP” and “DOWN” keys
on the handset during the ringing or idle mode.

The keypad on the handset will illuminate if one of the keys is pressed. It will turn off after
a few seconds. If the “ON” key is pressed, the keypad will illuminate and then go off after
a few seconds, except the “ON” key. This is to indicate that the phone handset is on. The
light will turn off when the “OFF” key is pressed.

INDICATOR
When the handset battery level is low, the LED indicator will blink when the phone is not
in use. When the phone is in use, the LED will blink and the handset will emit a beep tone.
Return the handset to the base cradle for recharging as soon as is practical.
PROGRAMMING THE HOTEL SERVICES DIRECT ACCESS KEYS
The CL2100 series has either five (model CL2105) or ten (model CL2110) programmable
hotel services direct access (or auto dial) keys (M1-M5/M10.) These keys can be
programmed to automatically dial telephone numbers or activate telephone system features.
These keys can only be programmed from the base unit. To program the keys, follow these
steps:
1)Connect the CL2100 series to a working telephone line.
2)Press the either “Line 1” or “Line 2” key on base unit. The LED for the line selected
will illuminate, indicating its selection.
3)Press the “STORE” key. (This is a hidden key; for key location, please refer to the
diagram on the inside front cover of this user guide.)
4)Enter the target telephone number, including “PAUSE” as required. The number
sequence can be up to 32 digits long.
Note:
(A pause may be stored in the memory dial sequence, but it may not be the first
digit. Flash may not be stored in a memory dial sequence.)
5)Press the “STORE” key again.
6)Press the auto dial key where the number is to be stored.
7)Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key to disconnect. The selected line’s LED will turn
off, indicating completion of programming.
SELECTING LINE 1 AND LINE 2
The patented PrimeLine/RingLine Select™ feature of the CL2100 series makes selecting
the correct line as easy as picking up the handset or engaging the speakerphone. This
feature prioritizes the ringing or idle line. To manually select another line, press the key
(“Line 1” or “Line 2”) that corresponds to the desired line.
RECEIVING A C
ALL USING THE HANDSET
When the CL2100 series receives an incoming call, both the base and handset will emit an
audible ringing tone. The message LED and the “ON” key LED on the handset will be
flashing, following the ring cadence.
To receive the call with the handset not
on the base cradle:
1)Pick up the handset.
2)Press the “LINE” key associated with the ringing line, indicated by the blinking LED.
3)The proper “LINE” LED will illuminate.
4)To end the call, place the handset on the base cradle, or press the “LINE” on/off key.
To receive the call with the handset on the base cradle:
1)Pick up the handset.
2)The handset will automatically answer the call and the appropriate “LINE” LED will
illuminate.
3)To end the call, place the handset on the base cradle, or press the “LINE” on/off key.

1)Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key on the base unit. The speakerphone will answer

Pressing either “LINE” key will maintain the connection with the selected line while
dropping the other. Pressing the “CONFERENCE” or “SPEAKERPHONE” key will
disconnect both lines.

1)Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key. The “SPEAKERPHONE” LED will illuminate.
2)Press the “REDIAL” key, and the telephone will dial the last number dialed.

FLASH ON BASE AND HANDSET
The “FLASH” key is dedicated to perform a timed hookflash.
Note:
There are three flash programming keys (recessed) to select different flash times
(100/300/600 ms.) See diagram inside front cover for more information.
TO MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE
1)Press the “MUTE” key on base. The “MUTE” LED will illuminate, to indicate that
mute is active.
2)Press the “MUTE” key again to disable mute. The “MUTE” LED will turn off.
PAUSE
Pause can be entered during off-hook manual dialing and chain dialing. This is a means of
allowing a complex number to be redialed. Pause has been inserted for the handset and the
base. Pause can be stored into the memory of hotel services direct access keys.
PAGING
This key initiates a handset page. When paging is active, the handset will beep. The message LED and the “ON” LED key on the handset will flash. To page:
1)Press “PAGE” key on the base. The handset will beep.
2)The handset will stop beeping if answered, by pressing “ON” or “OFF” key on the
handset, or by pressing the “PAGE” key on the base again.
Note:
The handset will not beep if the handset is in use. If the page is stopped by pressing
the “ON” or “OFF” key within 30 seconds of receipt of the page from the base, the handset cannot receive another page immediately.
MESSAGE WAITING CONFIGURATION
When a voice message waiting signal is received, the message-waiting LEDs on both the
handset and base will blink. Both LEDs will turn off once the message has been retrieved.

1. Prepare to install the battery into the cordless handset by
firmly pressing down on the top of the battery cover and
sliding it off. If cover is secured with a screw, remove the
screw first.
2. Locate the lightly embossed numbers “1” and “2” on the
battery’s plastic connector.
3. Insert the battery connector into the handset’s connector
with the embossed numbers facing up.
Note: The handset may “beep” when the battery is connected.This is not
an indication that the telephone is ready to use. To obtain optimal performance of the telephone, be sure to charge the battery for 15 to 20 hours.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and retaining screw.
5. Insert the provided rubber screw cover.
6. Turn the telephone base so the back panel is facing you.
Insert either end of the RJ-45 cable into the jack on the back
of the telephone labeled LINE.
7. Insert the other end of the cable into the jack on the AC
adapter labeled PHONE.
8. Insert one end of the RJ-11 line cord into the jack on the AC
adapter labeled LINE.
9. Insert the other end of this line cord into a telephone jack.

overlay and place the paper faceplate over the keys. Replace
the plastic overlay by hooking the tabs on the overlay into
the recessed slots located on both sides.The overlay is

first, and the middle of the overlay is slightly bowed to allow
for insertion of the other tabs.
12.Place the cordless handset on the base unit.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery must be
fully charged before using the phone for the first time. It is recommended that that battery pack be charged for approximately 15
to 20 hours, without interruption, before use.To charge the battery,
place the handset, keypad down, in the base unit. Make sure the

The up and down volume keys will adjust the ringer volume of
the telephone.Additionally, the CL2200 series telephone has an
optional “ascending” ring volume mode, where the ring volume
begins at the lowest setting, then automatically rings louder
with each successive ring during an incoming call. To select the
ascending ring volume mode, follow these steps:
For Line 1:
Press the FLASH key; then the 4 key; then the STORE key, then
the number 1 on the keypad.
For Line 2:
Press the FLASH key; then the 4 key; then the STORE key, then
the number 2 on the keypad.
ADJUSTING SPEAKERPHONE VOLUME
The speakerphone has eight (8) levels.When the speakerphone
is activated, the volume is initially set at level six (6). To adjust
the speakerphone volume, locate the volume up/down keys,
located on the front surface of the phone below the keypad.
Pressing the “down” arrow key will decrease the volume level,
while pressing the “up” arrow key will increase it.
ADJUSTING HANDSET RECEIVE VOLUME
The handset has four (4) volume levels. The volume is initially set
at level two (2). To adjust the handset volume, locate the volume
up/down keys, located on the handset, below the “#” key.
Pressing the “minus” (-) key will decrease the volume level,
while pressing the “plus” (+) key will increase it.

The CL2200 series has either five (5) or ten (10) programmable
guest service (auto dial) keys, depending on the model you own.
These keys can be programmed to automatically dial telephone
numbers, or to activate telephone system features.To program the
auto dial keys (programming can only be done from base unit

1. With the faceplate removed
, press the recessed STORE key.
2. Enter the desired telephone number (up to 15 digits in
length) to be stored.
3. Press the STORE key again.
4. Press the auto dial key where the number is to be stored.

go “off-hook”, answering the ringing line.
2. Or, press the SPKR key. The phone will automatically select
the correct, ringing line.
3. To end the call, press the SPKR key again.
PLACING A CALL
Using the handset:
1. Pick up the handset and select either line 1 or line 2. Listen
for dial tone and dial the desired number.
2. After the call is complete, press the key for the selected line
again to end the call.
Using the speak

1. Press key for either line 1 or line 2, or press SPKR.
2. Listen for dial tone, and dial the desired number, or press an
auto dial key to dial a preprogrammed number.
3. After the call is complete, press the SPKR key to end call.
REDIAL
The CL2200 series can automatically redial the last number dialed.
On the handset, press the REDIAL key to redial the last number.
CONFERENCE
The CONF key allows for three-way conversations. Depending
on the situation, you may initiate a conference call using one of
these methods:
User initiates two calls:
1. Place call to first party, then place them on hold by
pressing the HOLD key.
2. Using the second line, place call to second party.
3. Once that party is on the line, press CONF to join the first
caller with the second party and yourself.
User initiates one call:
1. After receiving a call from first party, place them on hold
as above.
2. Using the second line, place call to second party.
3. Once that party is on the line, press CONF to join the first
caller with the second party and yourself.
User includes two callers:
1. After receiving a call from first party, place them on hold
as above.
2. After receiving call from second party, press CONF to join
the first party with the second party and yourself.
To terminate a conference call, pressing a line key will maintain
the connection with that line, while dropping the other line.To
terminate the call entirely, press either the CONF key or SPKR key
to disconnect both parties.
USING THE HOLD KEY
The HOLD key places the call on hold locally at the cordless
telephone.

o place a call on hold:
1. With a call active, press the red HOLD key on either the
handset or base unit.
2. The red line LED will slowly blink, indicating the call is on hold.
3. If a conference call is active, pressing HOLD will place all
connections on hold.

o remove a call from hold:
1. Press the line key of the call on hold.This will remove the
call from hold, making the call active again.
2. The red line LED will return to steady illumination, indicating
the line is active.
3. During a conference call, to remove both lines from hold,
press the CONF key.

o change phones after placing a call on hold:
1. Place the call on hold as above.
2. Pick up the call at another telephone that is on the same
line.The telephone will activate the line and remove the hold
at the original telephone.
TO MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE
1. Press the MUTE key on the base unit.The red LED above
the MUTE key will illuminate.The party on the other end
will not be able to hear you when the MUTE LED is lit.
2. Press the MUTE key again to turn off the mute feature.
The MUTE LED will go out.
CONVERTING FROM DESK TO WALL MOUNT
The CL2200 series can be adapted for wall mounting applications.
The conversion is easiest to make when the handset and cords
are not connected.
1. Located on the handset cradle, above the speaker grill, is the
wall/desk mount clip. Remove this clip by firmly pushing it
upward towards the top of the phone.
2. Flip the clip over (top to bottom) so that the protruding edge is
towards the top of the phone and replace it in its slot.This edge
will hold the handset when the phone is mounted on the wall.
3. Turn the telephone over so the bottom is up, facing you.
Place it on a non-abrasive surface to prevent scratching.
4. Locate and remove the mounting bracket. Firmly push back
and pull up to remove two of the four retaining tabs.
5. Rotate the mounting bracket 180º degrees clockwise
, so that
the mounting eyelet on the bracket is facing in the same
direction as the other mounting eyelet located on the
bottom of the telephone.
6. Insert the top two retaining tabs of the mounting brackets
into the mounting bracket slots (located near the middle of
the telephone). Then firmly push down to insert the retaining
tabs on the opposite side of the mounting bracket.
7. Connect a 15-foot RJ-45 cord into the LINE jack on the back
of the phone.
8. Turn the telephone over, and slide the telephone down onto
the mounting posts of the wall bracket. Ensure that both
eyelets line up with the mounting posts.
REQUIREMENTS OF PART 68 - FCC RULES

PREPARING TO USE THE CL2900 SERIES TELEPHONE
1. Prepart to install the battery into the cordless handset by firmly pressing down on the
top of the battery cover and sliding it off.
2. Locate the lightly embossed numbers “1” and “2” on the battery’s plastic connector.
3. Insert the battery connector into the Handset’s connector with the embossed numbers
facing up.
Note: The handset may “beep” when the battery is connected. This is not an indication that the telephone is ready to use. To obtain optimal performance of the telephone, be sure to charge the battery for 15 to 20 hours.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and retaining screw.
5. Insert the provided rubber screw cover.
6. Turn the telephone Base so the back panel is facing you. Insert either end of the RJ-45
cable into the jack on the back of the telephone labeled LINE.
7. Insert the other end of the cable into the jack on the AC adapter labeled PHONE.
8. Insert one end of the RJ-11 line cord into the jack on the AC adapter labeled LINE.
9. Insert the other end of this line cord into a telephone wall outlet jack.
10. Plug the AC adapter into an available, unswitched electrical wall outlet.
11. Once your telephone is connected, remove the plastic overlay by hooking the tabs on
the overlay into the recessed slots located on both sides. The overlay is easiest to insert
when; the left or right side tabs are inserted first, and the middle of the overlay is
slightly bowed to allow for insertion of the other tabs.
12. Place the Cordless Handset on the Base Unit.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery must be fully charged before using the
phone for the first time. It is recommended that that battery pack be charged for approximately 15 - 20 hours, without interruption, before use.
To charge the battery, place the Handset, keypad down, in the base unit. Make sure the
“Charge” LED on the base lights. If the LED does not light:
1. Check to see if the AC adapter is plugged in
2. The AC adapter is NOT plugged into a switched outlet,
3. The Handset bottom is making good contact with the Base Unit charging contacts.

CLEANING THE BATTERY CONTACTS
To maintain a good charge, it is important to clean all charging contacts on the Handset and
Base Unit. Use a pencil eraser of other contact cleaner. DO NOT use any liquids or solvents.
ADJUSTING THE RING VOLUME
To adjust the ringer volume of the Base Unit, locate the respective “Line Ringing Volume”
adjustment control on the back of the telephone labeled RINGER LOW/HI (see diagram on
page 9). Slide the switch to the desired LOW or HI ring volume for each line.
ADJUSTING SPEAKERPHONE VOLUME
The SPEAKERPHONE has eight (8) levels. When the speakerphone is activated, the volume is set at Level Six (6).
Locate the VOLUME keys, labeled “-” and “+” at the bottom of the phone. Pressing the “-”
key decreases the volume level while pressing the “+” key will increase it. Disconnecting
the call for over ten seconds will reset the volume to Level Six (6). If the speakerphone is
off for less then two seconds, the volume will not be reset and continue to be set at the last
used volume level.
ADJUSTING HANDSET RECEIVE VOLUME
The Handset has four (4) levels. When the Handset is activated, the volume is set at Level
Two (2). Locate the VOLUME keys, labeled “-” and “+” at the bottom of the phone.
Pressing the “-” key decreases the volume level while pressing the “+” key will increase it.
Disconnecting the call for over two seconds will reset the volume to Level Two (2). If the
Handset is off for less then two seconds, the volume will not be reset and continue to be set
at the last used volume level.
AUTO-DIAL KEY PROGRAMMING
The CL2905 has five (5) programmable AUTO DIAL keys and the CL2910 has ten(10).
These keys can be programmed to automatically dial telephone numbers, or activate telephone system features.
PROGRAMMING AUTO DIAL KEYS:
The Auto Dial keys can only be programmed from the base unit.
1. Connect the CL2910/2905 to a live telephone line.
2. Press the SPEAKERPHONE key.
3. Press the recessed STORE key and release it. (Please see diagram on page 9 for key
location).
4. Enter the telephone number including PAUSE* as required. The sequence can be up to
15 digits including PAUSE and FLASH.
5. Press the STORE key again.
6. Press the AUTO DIAL key where the number is to be stored.
7. Press the SPEAKERPHONE key to disconnect.
*A 3.6 second pause is entered in a dialing sequence by pressing the
REDIAL key for each PAUSE required.
SELECTING LINE 1 AND LINE 2
The Cordless’ PrimeLine/RingLine Select feature makes selecting the correct line as easy
as lifting the handset. This feature prioritizes the ringing or idle line and reduces the confusion of line selection.
RECEIVING A CALL
An audible ring and flickering red LED indicate an inbound call.
USING THE CORDLESS HANDSET
1. Pick up the Handset.
2. Press the line key associated with the ringing line. The Handset will go off hook
answering the ringing line.
3. To end the call place the Handset in the base or press the lit line key on the Handset.
USING THE CORDLESS HANDSET FROM THE BASE
1. Lift the Handset. The Handset will automatically connect the ringing line.
2. To end the call replace the Handset in the base or press the lit line key on the Handset.
USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
1. Press the line key associated with the ringing line. The speakerphone will go off hook
answering the ringing line.
OR
2. Press the SPEAKER key. The telephone will select the ringing line and answer with
the speakerphone active.
Note: The red SPEAKER LED will indicate that the speakerphone is active.
PLACING A CALL
USING THE HANDSET
1. Press the LINE 1 or LINE 2 key. The telephone will go off hook on the selected line.
2. Listen for dial tone, dial the desired number.
3. To end call the call press the LINE key again.
USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
1.Press the LINE 1 or LINE 2 key. The telephone will go off hook on the selected line
with speakerphone active.
OR
Press the SPEAKER key. The telephone will select the appropriate “idle” line.
NOTE: The red SPEAKER LED will indicate that the speakerphone is active.
2. Listen for dial tone, dial the desired number, or press an AUTO DIAL key to automatically dial a number.
3. To end call the call press the SPEAKER key again.
REDIAL ON BASE
Dials the last number dialed.
REDIAL/FLASH ON HANDSET
Dials the last number dialed when a new call is being made. During a call, this button will
initiate a 600 ms hook flash when pressed.

CONFERENCE
The CONFERENCE key allows the user to originate or include two parties in a three-way
phone conversation. Typical conference calls would be;
- User initiates two (2) calls
- User initiates one (1) call after receiving a call
- User includes two (2) callers
USER INITIATES TWO (2) CALLS:
1. Place call to first party.
2. Place the first party on hold by pressing the HOLD key.
3. Place call to second party using the available, unused line.
4. Press the CONF key. The parties will be connected.
USER INITIATES ONE (1) CALL:
1. Receive call from first party.
2. Place caller on hold by pressing the HOLD key.
3. Place call to second party using the available, unused line.
4. Press the CONF key. The parties will be connected.
USER INCLUDES TWO (2) CALLERS:
1. Receive call from first party, put on hold.
2. Receive call from second party.
3. Press the CONF key. The parties will be connected.
TERMINATING A CONFERENCE CALL
Pressing either LINE key will maintain the connection with the selected
line while dropping the other.
Pressing CONFERENCE or SPEAKERPHONE will disconnect both lines.
USING THE HOLD KEY
The HOLD key places the call on hold locally at the cordless telephone.
TO PLACE A CALL ON HOLD
1. With a call active press the red HOLD key on either the Handset or Base Unit.
2. The red line LED will change to a slow blink indicating the call is on hold.
3. If a conference call is active, pressing HOLD will place all connections on hold.
TO REMOVE A CALL FROM HOLD
1. Press the line key of the call on hold. This will remove the call from hold making the
call activate on either speakerphone or Cordless Handset.
2. The red line LED will return to the non-blinking in-use condition.
3. During a conference call, to remove both lines, press the CONFERENCE
key.
TO CHANGE PHONES AFTER PLACING A CALL ON HOLD
1. Place the call on hold.
2. Pickup the call at another telephone. The telephone will detect the pickup and remove
the hold condition at the original telephone.
TO MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE
1. Press the MUTE key on the BASE. The red LED above the MUTE key will light. The
party on the other end will not hear you when the MUTE key is depressed.
2. Press the MUTE key again to turn off the mute feature, the MUTE LED will go out.
MESSAGE WAITING INDICATOR
When a voice message waiting signal is received, the message-waiting LEDs on both the
handset and base will blink. Both LEDs will turn off once the message has been retrieved.
CONVERTING FROM DESK TO WALL MOUNT
The cordless telephone can be changed for wall mounting applications. The conversion is
easiest when the handset and cords are not connected.
1. Located on the top of the telephone above the speaker grill is the wall/ desk mount
clip. Remove this clip by firmly pushing upward (towards the hookswitch).
2. Flip the clip over (top to bottom) so that the protruding edge is towards the top of the
phone. This edge will hold the handset.
3. Turn the telephone over so the bottom is up facing you. Place it on a nonabrasive surface to prevent scratching.
4. Locate and remove the mounting bracket, firmly push back and pull up to remove two
of the four retaining tabs.
5. Rotate the mounting bracket 180 degrees clockwise so that the mounting eyelet on the
bracket is facing in the same direction as the other mounting eyelet located on the bottom of the telephone.
6. Insert the top two retaining tabs of the mounting brackets into the mounting bracket
slots (located near the middle of the telephone). Then firmly push down to insert the
retaining tabs on the opposite side of the mounting bracket.
7. Connect a 15 foot RJ-45 cord into the jack on the back of the phone (labeled LINE).
8. Turn the telephone over, and slide the telephone down onto the mounting posts in
downward direction. Both eyelets should line up with the mounting posts.
