Change the default BIOS password for enhanced security
Instruments with the option installed have the BIOS administrator password set to Tektronix by default. Using a BIOS administrator
password prevents unauthorized BIOS modification and booting from USB flash devices.
Before you begin
Make sure to keep a record of the new instrument BIOS administrator password that you create in your organization’s records. There is no
way for Tektronix to gain access to the instrument BIOS settings once the password has been changed from the factory default value, if
access is needed for repairs.
If you need to return the instrument to Tektronix for service, change the BIOS administrator password back to the factory default value
Tektronix before sending the instrument to the Tektronix Service Center.
