Installing IConnect®, MeasureXtractor™ Version 6.0.1.X and Above
This CD includes all IConnect and MeasureXtractor software installation
packages. All software packages include the Sentinel hardware key drivers and
the S-parameter Wizard tool. There are four software packages to choose from:
IConnect Evaluation
The evaluation package is a free and fully functional IConnect and
MeasureXtractor™ software package with a limited number of uses and time
window of operation from its installation.
IConnect S-parameters and Z-line (80SSPAR)
The 80SSPAR is the minimum IConnect software package and includes all
application features except MeasureXtractor, modeling, and Eye Diagram
Viewer.
IConnect w/o MeasureXtractor (80SICON)
The 80SICON is the standard IConnect software package and includes all
application features except MeasureXtractor.
IConnect and MeasureXtractor (80SICMX)
The 80SICMX is the full IConnect software package and includes
MeasureXtractor, modeling, S-parameters, Eye Diagram Viewer, standards
compliance testing and more.

Minimum System Requirements
Supported Tektronix sampling oscilloscope: DSA8300 (recommended),
DSA/CSA/TDS8200, CSA/TDS8000B, or CSA/TDS8000.
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (32- and 64-bit) or XP on supported
oscilloscopes or PC.
TekVISA software: Required to run the S-parameter Wizard tool, or to
communicate with an oscilloscope over a local area network (LAN). (See
page 6.)
National Instruments GPIB board or a USB to GPIB adaptor: Not required
when running IConnect on supported Tektronix sampling oscilloscopes, or
when using TekVISA to connect a PC to a supported sampling oscilloscope
over a LAN).
External 1024 x 768 resolution monitor: Required when running IConnect on
all Tektronix 8000 series sampling oscilloscopes except the DSA8300.

Installing the IConnect Software
You can install a newer version of an IConnect program over an existing version of

Insert the IConnect software CD in the CD-ROM drive of a PC or a
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

install process does not delete any existing IConnect settings or results.

Install TekVISA for Remote Access
If you plan to run IConnect on a PC and acquire waveforms from an oscilloscope
connected to a LAN, or run the S-parameter Wizard function (on the oscilloscope
or remotely from a PC), you must install TekVISA software on your PC.
TekVISA is already installed on Tektronix DSA8300 oscilloscopes. Legacy Tektronix
NOTE.
sampling oscilloscopes will need to have the current version of TekVISA installed to
correctly operate with this version of IConnect.
Check which version of TekVISA is installed on your oscilloscope and PC (open
the TekVISA tool and click
go to the Tektronix Web site (www.tektronix.com/software), search for
Help > About
). If the version is earlier than 3.3.4.6,
