Kit Description and Installation
This kit includes software and instructions to install the MS Windows 2000
Operating System (Option W2K) onto your CSA8000, TDS8000, CSA8000B,
and TDS8000B Series instruments. Once installed, the instrument will operate
using MS Windows 2000.
NOTE. Installation of the MS Windows 2000 operating System onto CSA8000 or
TDS8000 instruments requires that option CPU to this kit be installed first.
Tektronix installation service (Option IF) is available for this upgrade. If
installation service is desired, please contact the service center in your region to
schedule installation.

Install
MS Windows 2000
Installation
To install the MS Windows 2000 Operating System, follow these steps:
CAUTION. To avoid data loss, back up any important user files stored on the hard
disk. This operating system restoration process reformats the hard disk, which
erases any user-installed files and applications.
1. Install the 8000 Series Instruments Windows 2000 Operating System.
Use the 8000 Series Instruments Windows 2000 Operating System Restore
CDROMs provided in this kit to install the operating system. Follow the
instructions provided with the Windows 2000 operating system restore
CDROMs.
2. Install the 8000 and 8000B Instruments Product Software.
Use the 8000 and 8000B Instruments Product Software CDROM to install
the product software. The product software version in this kit can only be
installed on instruments running the MS Windows 2000 Operating System.
Follow the instructions provided with the Product Software CDROM.
3. Install the Optional Applications Software on Windows-Based Oscillo-
scopes.
Use the Optional Applications Software on Windows-Based Oscilloscopes
CDROM. Follow the instructions provided with the software CDROM.
