077144900 / April 2018 *P077144900* 1

Introduction

The Model 7705 40-Channel Single-Pole Control Module has 40 channels of independent switching. These channels control power to the device under test (DUT) and switching loads. They can also directly control equipment such as light indicators and relays.

Connection information

Connection and wiring procedures in this document are intended for use by qualified personnel only. Do not perform these procedures unless qualified to do so. Failure to recognize and observe normal safety precautions could result in personal injury or death.
The 7705 switching module provides nonmeasurement functions. No channels are connected to the internal digital multimeter (DMM) (the channels cannot be connected to the backplane). No channels are paired. You can use the 7705 switching module to control external circuits.
Although the 7705 relays are latching type (relays hold their state even after power has been removed), all relay states are set to open a few seconds after either a power cycle or a reset command is issued.
You can use control channels independently to close and open channels on the 7705. Refer to the instrument reference manual section "Multiple channel operation."
For details on channel operation, refer to the instrument reference manual.
