Using the Model 6524 with a KPCI-488 Board

The Model 6524 High Resistance Measurement Software was originally designed for use with ISA-bus interface boards
(KPC-488.2, KPC-488.2AT, etc.) so it does not include a driver for the KPCI-488 interface board. However, it can be used
with a KPCI-488 board by installing the patch provided on diskette p/n 6524-851 so that the proper driver is available. To
do so, insert the diskette and run the "setup.exe" program.

T o determine whether you have the KPCI-488 board, check your order paper work, or refer to Appendix J of the IEEE-488 Interface
Boards User’s Manual, where it is illustrated as type ‘PCI488’.

NOTE This patch provides PCI-bus GPIB support for TestPoint Version 3.2 applications, such as the

6524 High Resistance Measurement Software package. Do not install the patch if you already
have a later version of the TestPoint package installed, as it will overwrite the newer files on your
system.

Using the Model 6524 with certain GPIB Boards

Using the Model 6524 with National Instruments (NI) or IOtech boards

For compatability with the latest version of these vendors’ driver software, follow the instructions in file “tpgb6524.txt”
provided on the disk (p/n 6524-851) to install updated versions of interface files.

NOTE These files provide the proper linkage between the 6524 program and NI/IOtech GPIB board

driver software. The NI/IOtech board and driver must already be installed and tested for proper
operation in accordance with those vendor’s instructions before these files are installed.
