Connection instructions

To make accurate measurements, you must connect the test leads properly. Improperly connected test leads may return a 0 reading or an overload or overflow indication.
The Model 5806 test leads measure the resistance between the sense probes.
To connect the Model 5806 lead set to an instrument:
For dual banana plug connections, the tab side of the plug should face the source or force terminal.
Connect the red dual banana plug to sense HI and input, force, or source HI.
Connect the black dual banana plug to sense HI and input, force, or source LO.
The test leads are marked to identify the sense and input, force, or source connections when you are measuring an unknown. Model 5806 is marked with a heat shrink sleeve on the clip handle that corresponds with the tab on its banana plug. When the test leads are connected to input, force, or source HI or LO, they correspond to the heat shrink sleeve on the Model 5806.
