Introduction

The Model 4803 Low-Noise Cable Kit is used to make customized cables to provide low-noise connections. Sufficient low-noise cables and connectors are included to make additional test cables.

CS-249 assembly

To assemble a CS-249 female BNC chassis-mount connector:
1. Mount the connector to a chassis or panel with the provided nut and washer.
2. Solder the signal wire to the center contact

Model 4803 Low-Noise Cable Kit Instructions

CS-44 assembly

To assemble a CS-44 male BNC connector:
1. Cut off the end of the cable evenly and remove the cable insulation 1/4 in. from the end, as shown below.

2. Slide the nut, washer, gasket, and clamp (or the nut and the nonsealing clamp) over the braided wires.

3. Flare the braided wires back and trim the braid to 3/32 in. Cut the dielectric 1/8 in. from the braid. Make sure that you do not damage the inner conductor while trimming the braided wires. The inner conductor must extend 1/8 in. from the dielectric, as shown below.
