Using the flat head
screws, attach two
heat sink bottom
brackets to the
target system.
Attach the probe head to the target
system. Refer to the TMSST2
Hardware Support Manual for
installation instructions.

Attach two
standoffs to
the target
system.
Install the
heat sink.
Apply thermal
grease to the
top of the
copper spacer.
Tools Required
H Phillips (P1) screwdriver to tighten the
screws
H Optional: A torque wrench helps to ensure
reliable connections by meeting the nominal
torque values. When attaching screws use
8 in-lbs of torque.
Overview
Use this instruction sheet to install the heat sink
hardware. To install the probe head, use the
installation instructions in the TMSST2 LGA771
and 775 Socket Hardware Support Manual
(Tektronix part number 071-1665-XX).
Procedure
Y ou need to power off the target system and
remove the heatsink and power pod before
installing the brackets.
NOTE. Use as many screws as possible to attach
the brackets.
