1 Function
1.1 The router is intended for operation within
the Astra-Zitadel system.
1.2 The router is intended:
- for retransmitting messages (notifications, control commands, responses, handshakes, etc.) from wireless devices within the Astra-Zitadel system to the control panel;
- for automatically routing messages from wireless devices if the current data transfer route is lost;
- for controlling external devices connected to the router jack and powered with 220 V AC.
1.3 The router ensures operation directly with 30 detectors (plus two mobile devices).
1.4 Power is supplied to the router from 220 V AC network. The router has 220 V AC circuit protection.
1.5 The router retains operability if the mains AC voltage varies within the range of 100 to 240 V.

4.2 Mounted on the jack-side of the cover is a button combined with a light conductor:
- The button is intended for manual switching connected to the
router jack device ON/OFF.
- The light conductor is intended for transmitting indications to the router cover and receiving signals from the LT.
4.3 Mounted on PCB are red and white LEDs for router’s functional status and the wireless network status supervision respectively.
4.4 Mounted on PCB is a button for initiating the network registration procedure without housing opening.

6 Operating Modes
6.1 The following operations can be executed upon a
command from Astra-Z-812M control panel or Astra-Z MSS in accordance with the Astra-Zitadel Quick Start Guide*:
1) Setting router`s power output (jack) operating mode;
2) FW upgrade.
6.2 Operating modes initiated by the Astra-942 laser tester
buttons:
1) test (upper button);
2) wireless network optimization (middle button);
3) router registration in wireless network (lower button).
7 Pre-starting Procedure
7.1 After transportation in conditions differing from those of
operation, the router must be kept unpacked for 4 hours in the expected operating conditions.
7.2 Registering the Router in the Wireless Network Router registration is required for router identification in the
wireless network in which it is supposed to operate.
7.2.1 Registering the router in Astra-Z-812M control panel
Step-1
Turn the router ON by plugging it into the selected 220 V outlet at the site.
Step-2
Switch the control panel to Wireless component registration mode by the method described in an appropriate Astra-Zitadel system operation manual Quick Start Guide*.
Step-3
The router can be registered by one of two methods: a) by command from the LT;
b) using the hidden registration initiation button.
Step-4
Initiating Router Registration Procedure Using LT:
1) Press the lower button on the LT and hold until a beam
appears.
2) Direct the laser beam at the router LED and irradiate it for at least 1 second. The router’s red LED lights up for 2 seconds, and then the white LED blinks with a frequency of 5 Hz for not more than 60 seconds («Network search» mode).
Step-5
Initiating Router Registration Procedure Using the Hidden Registration Initiation Button: Shortly (for 0.5 to 2.5 seconds) press the hidden button through the opening on the side edge of
the router housing. The router’s white LED lights up at a frequency of of 5 Hz during the wireless network search, but not more than 60 seconds.
Step-6
Verify registration by the control panel indication:
If registration procedure completed successfully, the control panel screen displays the «RTRxxx registered» notification.
If registration procedure failed, the control panel screen displays the «Registration time expired» notification. In this case, repeat the registration procedure, i.e. execute steps 2
and 4 or 2 and 5.
Step-7
After successful registration of the router, for long term storage before its installation, it is allowed to switch the router OFF.
When power is supplied, there is no need to re-register the router in the same wireless network if it was not intentionally removed from the network through Astra-Z-812M control panel.
7.3.2 Registering the router in Astra-Z-8945 control panel
Step-1
Turn the router ON by plugging it into the selected 220 V outlet on site.
Step-2
Set Astra-Z MSS on PC according to method described in Astra-Zitadel system based on Astra-Z-8945 ver.A control panel Operating manual* or Quick Start Guide*. Run
Setup module. Choose Wireless network / List of wireless devices menu item. Right click any empty row
and choose Register wireless devices command from pop-up menu.
Step-3
Initiate router registration procedure by one of 2 methods (see p.7.2.1): a) using the LT;
b) using the dedicated hidden registration initiation
button.
Step-4
Make sure the registration procedure is completed according to the procedure described in the Astra-Zitadel system operating manual* or Quick Start Guide*:
Once registration procedure completed successfully,
«RTR» appears in selected row.
In case registration procedure failed repeat
registration procedure.
Step-5
After successful registration of the detector, for long term storage before its installation, it is allowed to switch the router OFF. When power is supplied, there is no need to re-register the router in the same wireless network if it was not intentionally removed from the network through Astra-Z MSS.
7.3 Installation and Operability Verification
7.3.1 Plug the router into the selected 220 V outlet on site.
7.3.2 Set the router operating modes in accordance with an
appropriate Astra-Zitadel system Quick Start Guide*. Configure the router through «Alerting / System outputs» menu sub-item:
7.3.3 Verify Router Operability:
1) In the system based on Astra-Z-812M control panel:
- Verify the router status on the control panel («Normal» status
should appear);
- Initiate a test mode from the control panel in accordance
with an appropriate Astra-Zitadel system Quick Start
Guide*.
2) In the system based on Astra-8945 control panel:
- Verify the router status on MSS interface («Normal» status should appear);
- Initiate a test mode from MSS interface in accordance with an appropriate Astra-Zitadel system Quick Start Guide*.
3) Make sure appropriate notification is issued.
