0.1 Scope

The document is an installation operation manual of the product, FCT-Phone.
It specifies installation and user operations about FCT-Phone. The features
of FCT Phone are divided into two branch versions, FMPX.XXX and
GMAFPX.XXX. The differences between these versions are detailed in the
following.

Featured in the security function but not in the LCR function.
ν GMAFPX.XXX Version
Feature in the LCR function but not in the security function.

The security function will be covered in the FCT Phone Operation Manual.

1. PRODUCT CARE

- Please review the simple guideline below. Failure to comply with the

guideline may be dangerous or illegal.

2. SPECIFICATION

2.1 Introduction

Tecom GSM FCT-8810 Phone is an advanced fixed GSM-cellular terminal.

This product may allow fixed line users to make calls or receive calls via

GSM mobile network without re-setting the PBX system, changing the

dialing behavior, and reducing PBX fixed line ports.

The product provides both GSM MO and fixed line CO ports. With built-in

routing feature, it automatically routes the calls to either GSM network, or

fixed line network. And it may be easily and cost-effectively deployed, once

the route-selection policy is determined via pre-programmed.

3.2 SYSTEM INSTALLATION

1. Insert the SIM card first.

( Warning : to avoid the product damaged, please insert SIM

card before power-on, and power-off first if it is
necessary to take SIM card out of the product.。

2. Install the antenna. Be sure the antenna connector is fixed properly. The
guideline to install the antenna is listed below:

(1) It’s better to place the antenna near to the window that is close to

radio base station.

(2) Do not put the antenna at some place with obstruction.

(3) Do not put the antenna on high power equipment such as air

conditioner, microwave, computer, ..etc.

(4) It’ better to put the antenna much far way from phone or PBX.

3. Connect to PSTN CO line to the “LINE” of GSM FCT-Phone.

4. Connect to the power line of power adapter to “DC IN 7.5V” of GSM
MT8810 FCT Phone, and plug the power adapter into power outlet.

5. The operation temperature ranges from 0°C ~ 55°C.

6. Once the power is shut down, the system remains the PSTN CO line
workable.

4. PHONE CALL TEST

1. Make a call

(1) Will hear a dial tone after the handset is lifted (may hang up, and lift

the handset later when hearing a busy signal).
(2) Dial the number. The call will be gotten through after 5-6 seconds.
(3) If MT-8810 routing CO path, “CO” will be shown in LCD screen.
(4) If MT-8810 routing GSM path, “GSM” will be shown in LCD screen.

2. Receive a call
May answer the call after lifting the handset when hearing a ring.

The calling number will be shown on LCD screen. Besides of
supporting GSM caller ID, MT-8810 also can detect both DTMF &
FSK specification on CO path.

When you turn on the power of the phone, the phone will try to register to the
network. After registering successfully, the phone will be in standby mode.

There are four ways to make an outgoing call by speed dialing. Before the
methods are detailed, the way to select one of the 12 sets of speed dial keys is
the following:

5.3.4 Making an Outgoing Call by Caller ID
Please refer to the section 6.1, General Programming MMI of the chapter 6,
PROGRAMMING.

5.3.5 Call Waiting
If a new mobile call is coming while the phone set is talking via the CO line, a

special call waiting tone will sound. You can pick up this new mobile call and
put the CO call on hold. The call waiting function is available only when the
programming item, “Call Waiting” is enabled.

A mobile call is on line. If the call dialed out

from GSM/CO, “GSM”/”CO” will be displayed
on the right most on the second row and the
timer will be displayed on the left most on the
second row.

A CO call is incoming. The caller ID is
displayed on the first row of the LCD.

Press the function key, [(FLASH)] to pick up
the CO call and put the mobile call on hold.

Press the function key, [(FLASH)] again to
pick up the held mobile call and put the CO
call on hold.

6.2 Advanced Programming

The FCT Phone advanced programming is done by the operation of the FCT
Phone. Its format is composed of digits and keypads, *, #, 0-9 on the FCT
Phone. Before programming, you must enter the FCT Phone programming
mode by pressing the programming enter code, “*#***8326#” with the
phone off-hooked. For the details of the FCT Phone programming enter and
command codes, please refer to the following table.
