Descaling Your coffeemaker will need re gular descaling, depending on the hardness of the water in your area and the frequency with which the coffeemaker is used.
Instructions:
Once the vertical and transpar ent spyglass in the middle of the reservoir has lost its tra nsparency because of scale, cleaning sho uld be done. If descaling is not carried out regularly, the deposits of scale will cause overheating of the boilingelement and th e machine will be switched off automatically.
To descale the machine, pr oceed as follows:
1. Fill reservoir with 1 litre of cold vinegar or another good descaler. Pla ce empty filterholder on the filterbracket and the thermo jug in the right place. Than switch machine on.
2. The coffeema ker will determine the des caling speed independently.
3. After descalin g, use the machine twice more with one litre of clean c old water to remove the vinegar residues in order to pre vent a bad flavour in the coffee. If the machine does not operate well after descaling, the level of scale may be so high that the procedure need b e repeated. Do not use a descaling agent more than once.
Important: This coffeemaker is equipped with a special lead with plug, which in case of damage should be replaced by a similar lead with plug to be obtained from your distributor or Technivorm.
