Have it examined (and replaced if needed) by a competent service centre. Replace the handset battery only with a battery of the same voltage and type. Read this manual before using your player.
TThe player may be used with or without the remote monitor. It may be operated on mains voltage via the supplied AC adaptor, or on a 12VDC supply via the sup­plied vehicle adaptor. The Player is set to play Region 2 discs. The player will accept the following formats (among others): DVD, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-DA, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, Picture CD, The following formats are not acceptable: DVD discs with other region codes. Improperly formatted discs or discs which are not nalized
UNPACKING
The carton should contain:
• The DVD Player
• Remote Monitor
• Remote Control and battery
• Combination AV/DC power cable for the second screen
• 2 Securing Straps for vehicle mounting of the player and the remote monitor
• External Mains Power Adapter
• External 12VDC Vehicle Power supply connector
• Carrying Bag If any items are missing or damaged, contact your nearest TESCO store for a
replacement. Have your receipt ready when you call. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so having regard to any recycling regulations in your area.

DVD REGION CODES
DVD discs and players are covered by a worldwide agreement which limits playback of DVD discs to specic regions as determined by the software
manufacturer. Most DVDs come marked with a
region coding. A disc specied as playable in one region may not play on a player designed for a dif­ferent region. A disc specied as universal or with no region coding (Code 0)may be played in any region.
The regions are: Region 1: Canada, USA
Region 2: Europe, Japan, Mid. East, South Africa Region 3: South-East Asia
Region 4: Australia, Caribbean, Central & South America, New Zealand Region 5: Africa, Former Soviet Union, India, North Korea, Pakistan Region 6: China

IMPORTANT NOTE
DVD discs contain various features. Many features are
determined by the program or software content on the DVD disc itself. Some procedures in this manual cannot be performed if the disc does not support the feature. Also, some discs may need special settings which are unsupported by the player.
GENERAL CAUTIONS
CAUTION: during playback, the disc spins at high speed, do not lift or move the player, doing so may damage the disc.
CAUTION: when the player is stopped the disc is still rotating at a very high speed. Leave the disc to come
to a rest before removing it. Stopping a disc manually could damage both the disc and the player.
Never press down on the disc compartment lid especially when a disc is playing.
The player has built in copyright protection technology that prevents copying from a DVD disc to any media. If a video recorder is connected to the player, the video output image will be distorted.

PLAYER CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
1). Earphone Jack: Connection for headphones. Note: Connecting headphones disables the internal speakers.
2). IR Sensor: Receives signals from the remote control.
3). Setup Button: Press to enter/leave the player Setup menu
4). Stop Button: Press once to stop the disc at a given point.
Press again to completely stop the disc.
5). Prev. Button: Skip to previous title, chapter, or track.
6). Next Button: Skip to the next title, chapter, or track.
7). Navigation Controls*: (SeeBelow)
8). Menu Button: Display the root and title menu of the disc.
9). Power On/O Switch: Turn the player on or o.
10). AV Out jack: Connect to the remote monitor, TV or amplier.
11). Power Indicator: Lights when the player is operational
12). DC Output Jack: Connects to the monitor via the AV/DC Cable.
13). Volume control: Adjust the Volume.
14). DC Input Jack: Connect to the AC adapter or Vehicle 12V adapter.
15). Open Button: Opentheunittoputadiscontothetray.
16). Stand: Pull-out table/desk stand for the player.

VEHICLE OPERATION
OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT ONLY IN THE REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
THIS EQUIPMENT MUST ONLY BE CONNECTED TO NEGATIVELY EARTHED 12V DC SUPPLIES.

AV & POWER CONNECTIONS
A special AV/DC interconnect is supplied. Plug in the cable terminated with three pole 3.5mm jacks to the AV sockets on the player and the remote monitor.
PluginthecableterminatedwiththeDCjackplugstothePlayerDCOUTsocketandtheRemote MonitorDCINsocket.
Connect the DC jack plug of the 12VDC Vehicle Power supply cable to the DC IN socket of the player. When all the connections are in place and the player and remote monitor are securely tted, plug the power supply connector into a suitable Accessory (lighter) point in the vehicle.
•Theplayermaybeoperatedwithorwithouttheremotemonitor.
As a safety measure, unplug the Vehicle power supply cable when the player is not in use.
SECURING THE PLAYER & REMOTE MONITOR
Pass a securing strap through the slots in the rear (A). Place the strap around a vehicle front seatheadrest.Ensurethescreenis
inthecentreoftheheadrestandbucklethestrapsecurely(B).

HOME OPERATION
MAINS CONNECTION
Connect the DC jack of the mains adapter to the DC Input Socket of the player.
Connect the mains adaptor to the mains point and switch on at the mains, The player is now ready for use.
AV CONNECTIONS
You can connect the system to a TV to enjoy the benets of a larger picture. You will need to purchase an interconnect with a three pole 3.5mm jack on one end and three
RCA phono plugs on the other. This interconnect is often used for games consoles etc.
ConnectthejackplugtothePlayerAVOUTsocketConnecttheYELLOWplugtotheComposite Video input of the TV. ConnecttheWHITEandREDplugstotheAudioinputsof the TV.
PLAYER PLACEMENT
Carefully swing out the stand to its maxi­mum position.
Place the player as shown on a stable surface where it cannot get knocked o or pulled over by the connecting cables.
REMOTE MONITOR PLACEMENT
Although you can connect the remote monitor as shown on the previous page you shoukl only use the monitor if it is rmly attached to a suitable table or oor stand. A sturdy camera tripod or rigid microphone stand is suitable but the base must be large and heavy enough for stability.
