CLEANINGTHE LENS
CLEANINGTHE CABINET
If yourCDs jump tracks, skip passagesor don’t play properly, thisis likely to be causedby surface damageor dirton the CDrather thanany fault ofthe unit. Inextreme cases, however,these phenomena couldbe due todirt or duston the lens. Ifthe CD lens gets dustyor dirty, use a proprietarylens cleaner and follow theinstructions carefully. Alternatively, Becareful never toscratch thesurface of thelens. Ifyou keep theCD cover closedat alltimes when theunit is notin use,the lens is unlikelyto get dirty.
DoNOT clean theinside ofthe CD playerwith acloth. Lightly blowout anydust.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE
Use only an approved UK 4.5V DC power adaptor (not supplied). Ensure the polarity of the DC connector matches the player (seediagram).

Most MP3 discs are organised in folders. The disc is called the 'root' folder: tracks put onthe disc (not in a folder)will play first.Folders are like albums ­each one containing one or more songs.Discs should have no more than 40 folders(directories) and nomore than 99MP3 files inany folder.
Thedisc plays thefirst track inthe ROOTfolder. When allthe tracksare played itwill then playall thetracks in thesecond folderand so on.

The player uses a memory buffer to prevent skipping when theunit issubjected to shocksand vibration. This function automatically turns on when play is started. When ESPis operating, batteryconsumption is higher. In normal use you may switch this function off to conservebattery power.
When aCD hasfinished or afterSTOP is pressed,the CDwill stop. Aftera short time,if no furthercommands arereceived, the playerwill switchoff.
HOLD disables all player controls except playback.. Use this function when youare on themove to preventaccidental operation.

PRELIMINARIES
BASIC PLAYER OPERATION
Unpack the playercarefully. The packing consists of theplayer and a pair of earphones. If any item is damaged or missing contact your nearest Tesco store.Please have yourreceipt readywhen you call.
Move theOPEN switch tothe right toopen the CDdoor. Remove the packing piecefrom the CD compartment. Unwrapthe earphones anduncurl thecord.
Retain the packaging. If youdecide to dispose of the packing, do so having regard to any recycling provisions in your area. Please retain these instructions.If you passthe uniton to athird party,include these instructions.
When the batteries rundown the low voltage indicator in the player display panel willlight. Do notrun the player onexhausted batteries. Alwaysreplace batteriesin pairs andmake surethat they arenew andof the sametype.
Plugthe headphone jackinto theHeadphone Jack socket. Makesure the switch is OFF.
HOLD disables all the player controls except playback.. Use this function when you are on the move to prevent accidental operation of the controls. ReleaseHOLD to re-enableplayer controls.
