DVD Recorder DMR-EH80V with Hard Disk Drive/VHS VCR and SD slot

Affirming its position as the industry leader in DVD
recording products, Panasonic introduces a conven­ient new recorder in the DMR-EH80V. Equipped with
a 200-GB hard disk drive (HDD), this new integrated
VHS VCR/DVD recorder enables one-touch 6-way
dubbing among hard disk drive, DVD, and VHS
sources. An SD card slot adds a fourth source -- the

ing up, recording and Electronic Program Guide appearance enhances operation,
and LP (long-play) mode features the same level of high-resolution recording as
conventional SP (standard-play) mode.

The One-Touch 6-Way Dubbing button on the DMR-EH80V makes it possible to dub
between the hard disk drive and a DVD disc, a VHS tape and the hard disk drive, and
a VHS tape and a DVD disc, by pressing only one button. For example, the user can
store several S-VHS or VHS tapes onto the hard disk without all the work of connect­ing a separate VCR with cables and settings, and then easily edit the stored data and
save the result onto a DVD disc. In addition, the SD card slot of this handy 4-in-1
model lets the user view images
onto the hard disk drive or a DVD disc.

The DMR-EH80V also stands out for its lightning-fast response – as quick as 1 sec­ond* – in start-up, recording and Electronic Program Guide display. And in LP mode
the DMR-EH80V delivers up to 500 lines of horizontal resolution, for images that are
twice as sharp as those from last year's models. Thanks to a new 12-bit Analog-to­Digital converter that provides high-bit, high-rate sampling, the DMR-EH80V can
convey subtle image nuances and produce smooth, beautiful recordings with re­markable depth.

Naturally, the DMR-EH80V offers all of the exclusive DVD-RAM format features, such
as simultaneous recording and playback, random access, Chasing Playback, on-disc
editing and multi-format data compatibility, which makes it possible to record TV
programs, moving pictures, and still pictures onto the same disc.

line hook-up. And the DMR-EH80V also includes the user-friendly "Smart Wheel­Remote Control", which gives you control over 200x quick searches and fast­forward smooth searching, so you can find recorded programs and start playback
more quickly than ever.

The DMR-EH80V features a built-in DV terminal that makes it possible to dub DV­quality images from a digital video camera onto the DMR-EH80V's hard disk drive or
a DVD disc. And a built-in SD card slot

and SD viewer for JPEG images. Users can
enjoy quick, easy networking and file sharing between the DMR-EH80V and many
personal computers, digital still and video cameras, Panasonic's VIERA line of
plasma displays, and other SD-enabled A/V devices.

* From the power on, recording starts in about 1 second after the REC button is pressed. If the
GUIDE button is pressed while the unit is off, the Electric Program Guide (EPG) displays in less
than 1 second. (Quick Start Mode)

vary depending on content and disc type. MP3 audio decoding technology is licensed from

The DMR-EH80V supports SD Memory Cards. However, it is compatible only with DCF-based,
still picture (JPEG) files recorded using a digital camera. It is not compatible with sound or
moving picture files not in accordance with DCF standards (e.g., MOTION JPEG files), or with
any type of still picture files other than JPEG/TIFF. When copying images from a digital still
camera onto the hard drive, we recommend that you also save the images to an SD Memory
Card or DVD-RAM disc.
