Setup of Vera Edge with HouseMate
This document should be used in conjunction with the ClickToPhone (Android) or HouseMate Home Control (iOS) user manual as well as the instructions provided with the VERA Edge controller and on line at http://home.getvera.com.
The Vera controller must be connected to the internet. It is normally connected by plugging it into your home network wifi router. Note that your computer, phone or tablet must also be connected to the same network.
1. Connect Vera Edge to your router via the Ethernet cable provided
2. Connect Vera Edge Power adaptor to an AC power outlet and plug the
power lead into Vera
3. On your computer or tablet go to http://home.getvera.com and follow the instructions to log in or set
up a new account and setup your Vera controller
4. Once the setup is completed your web browser will be re-directed to the Vera
Dashboard
5. Here you can set up your Z-Wave appliance modules/plug-in switches by
clicking on Devices > Add a Device
a. Note that when adding DHS Plug-In Switches,
choose Generic Z-Wave device and follow the instructions
6. Once you have all of your Z-Wave devices paired to the Vera controller, take
note of the IP address of the Vera Dashboard shown in your web browser. It should look like: http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx/cmh/#dashboard Take note of the numbers represented by the red xxxs above; this is your Vera Edge IP address.
Setting up Vera with ClickToPhone HouseMate (Android Devices)
From the ClickToPhone homepage click Back->Project Settings->Enable Technician mode-> Preferences->HouseMate preferences. Then choose Z- Wave over Wifi and run the setup wizard
1. If the setup wizard fails to find your Vera, go to Preferences-
>HouseMate preferences-> Z-Wave over Wifi-> Advanced settings-> Enable Z-wave
2. Click on IP address and enter the IP address xxx.xxx.xx.xx that you
noted above. It is beyond the scope of this document to further explain all the various ways to connect your Vera unit over a domestic router.
3. Now click on Wifi settings. Turn on your Wifi and make sure that your Vera unit is switched on.
Now each time you select HouseMate from the ClickToPhone homepage you should see popup massages indicating that HouseMate is searching and connecting to Vera.
Setting up buttons in HouseMate to control the Z-Wave Modules
Follow the instructions in the ClickToPhone HouseMate PRO User Manual to create pages and buttons. See Page 149 Section 19.9.2 controlling a Z-Wave Device to associate your HouseMate buttons with each ZWave module.

Open the Home Control app and long press the spanner icon to enter Technician mode. Then press Project -> Setup your devices-> Smarthome Controls -> Z-Wave -> Search for gateway -> Vera to run the setup wizard

-> Z-Wave -> Static IP Address
2. Enter the IP address xxx.xxx.xx.xx that you noted above. It is beyond the scope of this document to
further explain all the various ways to connect your Vera unit over a domestic router.
3. Now click on Wifi settings. Turn on your Wifi and make sure that your Vera unit is switched on.
