Important information
Target group
These installation instructions are intended for Techem trained personnel. We do not mention any elementary job steps.
Intended use
The Mod5 meter transmitter is used for upgrading the Techem S-30D-Vario 3 water meters to radio.
Safety and hazard information
not necessary to change the battery and it is also not permitted.
Installation
Retooling of S-30D-Vario3 meter to radio
1 If present: break open the ring seal on the meter
casing and detach it. To do this, pass a screwdriver blade into one of the openings of the ring seal and twist to one side.
2 Remove the front cap from the meter casing.
The area of the meter casing where the Mod5 meter transmitter makes contact must be clean and dry – especially in the area of the ring seal. If necessary, clean this area with water and dry it. If this is still not enough, the meter casing must be changed.
3 Apply the Mod5 meter transmitter to the meter and allow it to click into place.
4 Lock the connection of the Mod5 meter transmitter to the meter casing using a ring seal.
5 Finish the retooling with optical head and PDA.

Delivery, transport and storage
Scope of delivery
The standard delivery of the product contains:
• the installation instructions with conformity declaration,
• one (1) Mod5 meter transmitter
Transport
The Mod5 meter transmitter must not be subjected to blows, shocks, shaking or vibration. Transport should therefore be in the original packaging if possible, or in another suitable packaging.
Storage
The following storage conditions must be adhered to without exception: max. temperature: + 50 °C / min. temperature: - 20 °C.
