Thank you for choosing this Team Orion Advantage One charger. This charger features the latest developments in battery charging technology. It is compatible with the most popular battery types and can use either AC or DC power sources. Please read these instructions carefully before using the charger.
SAFETY RECOMMDENDATIONS
Chargers and batteries used in RC cars are high power products, misuse or mishandling could result in personal injury or damage to property.
LiPo/LiFe and NiCd/NiMH batteries require different charging methods, make sure that you properly identify the type of battery you are charging and setup the charger accordingly.
 Setup the charge parameters according to the battery
manufacturer specications.
 Make sure you are using a stable power source.
Use the charger in a well ventilated area, away from
electrically conductive or ammable materials.
 Do not let children use the charger without the super-
vision of an adult.
 Never leave the charger without supervision while it is
powered on.
This charger is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose to heat, direct sunlight, water or humidity.
 Do not block the charger’s ventilation openings.
 Always inspect the charger, batteries and connections
before using the charger; do not charge damaged
batteries or bloated batteries.  Do not connect AC and DC power simultaneously.
Do not attempt to recharge batteries which are not
compatible with this charger.  Let the battery cool down before recharging it.  The charger and batteries can become hot during use.
Take great care before handling them.  If the battery and/or charger have suspicious reactions
during the charge or discharge, such as overheating,
venting or leaking, immediately disconnect the battery
and charger and store them in a safe location, away
from people or electrically conductive and/or ammable
materials.

HOW TO USE
Connect the charger to a stable and grounded power source, either 100-240VAC mains power outlet or a 12VDC power supply. An unstable power source may cause the charger to malfunction and create hazardous conditions. The charger has an integrated 120 minutes safety timer. If you are charging a very high capacity battery, you may need to restart the charge for the battery to become fully charged. WARNING! With LiPo batteries, the balancing plug must always be connected to the charger, do not attempt to charge LiPo batteries which are not equipped with a compatible balance plug. Attempting to charge a LiPo battery in Nixx mode will probably cause the battery to fail and
could result in a re, possibly causing damage to property
and personal injury.
Before starting the charge, you must setup the charge current!
LED FUNCTION
 LED off: no function Red LED ashing: battery connected  Red LED lit: charging Green LED ashing: battery almost full, peak detection
mode (Nixx) or CV charge mode (LiPo)
 Green LED lit: charge complete
CHARGE CURRENT
The charge current is adjusted by using the + and – keys
before starting the charge.  The charge current LED will light in relation to the set-
ting. During the charge, the LED will show the actual
charge current. Depending on the battery type the
effective maximal charge current might be lower than
4A so not all the LED will be lit.
The standard charge current is 1C (one time the battery
capacity).
WARNING! The minimum charge current of this charger is 1A; this might be too high for certain batteries and cause them to overheat and create hazardous conditions. Make sure that you properly identify the battery type/speci-
cations and always follow the manufacturer’s charge
recommendations.
CHARGING NIMH/NICD BATTERIES
Connect the battery to the charger using the charge
lead connectors.  Use the + and – key to adjust the charge current.
Press and hold the NIXX key until the red LED lights
solid and the fans start spinning, charge has started.

 When the charger enters peak detection mode (battery
almost full) the green LED ashes.
Once the charge is completed, the green LED will remain lit.
 Disconnect the battery once the charge has completed
CHARGING LIPO BATTERIES
Connect the battery to the charger using the charge lead connectors.
 Connect the battery balancing plug to the appropriate
balance port (LiPo charge cannot work without balan-
cing).  Use the + and – key to adjust the charge current.
Press and hold the LIPO key until the red LED lights
solid and the fans start spinning, charge has started.
When the charger enters CV charge mode (battery
almost full) the green LED ashes*.
Once the charge is completed, the green LED will
remain lit.  Disconnect the battery once the charge has completed
Note: You can stop the charge process at any time by pressing the Nixx or LiPo start/stop button.
*Depending on the batteries balance status, CV mode can
take a lot of time to complete.
STORING THE BATTERIES
We recommend storing the batteries about 50% charged, not full or empty. To achieve this when the battery is empty, you can start a charge cycle and stop the charge after a period of time equivalent to half the full charge time for your battery. For example a 4000mAh battery charging at 4A, stop the charge after 30 minutes.
ERROR LED DISPLAY
Red LED ashing when charging
Battery voltage error, battery polarity error, balancing error or input voltage error.
Red and green LED ashing when charging
Charger overheating, let it cool down and improve airow.
