Battery precautions

After it is set up and connected, you can experience a superb sound quality and state-of-the-art design to best fit your home entertainment system. You are recommended to read through this user manual which helps you set up, connect and operate the product easily and properly.

3 PAIR

Press and hold button on the Sound Bar main unit for 5 seconds. Press and hold PAIR button on the subwoofer untill pairing is complete. And then the amber LED light will be solid up on the subwoofer.

Note

• Manual pairing is needed only in case of troubleshooting.

Set up your Sound Bar system

Notes

Make sure you read all the safety information before you mount the Sound Bar main unit on the wall.

Make sure you use screws provided or specified by the authorized manufacturer.

TCL Overseas Marketing Limited bears no responsibility for accidents or damage caused by improper wall mounting and screws installation or insufficient wall strength, etc.

Additional tools (not supplied) are required for installation.

You can choose to place your Sound Bar below the center of your TV or mount it on the wall.

Position Your Sound Bar and Subwoofer

The ideal place to position the Sound Bar main unit is centered underneath your TV.

You are recommended to place the Sound Bar main unit on the top of the cabinet and right below the center of your TV. The distance between the subwoofer and the Sound Bar main unit should be less than 3m.

Mount your Sound Bar on the wall

Place the supplied wall mount template on the wall.

Make sure the wall mount template is at least 5cm below the center of the TV.

Use a level to make sure the wall mount template is

positioned accurately.

Use tape to stick the wall mount template firmly on

the wall.

Mark on the wall using each marking on the template

through the mounting holes.

Take away the wall mount template.

Drill a screw hole at each marking on the wall.

Screw off the rubber cushions from the soundbar.

(Reserve the rubber cushions for future use)

* The rubber cushions can be used as soundbar mats when you put the soundbar on the table

Screw on the wall mount brackets to the soundbar.

Insert the supplied screws with the sleeves into the

hole of the wall anchors.

Fix and tighten the wall bracket screws on the wall.

Hang the Sound Bar on the screws.

Notes

Check the installation location before you mount the

Sound Bar on the wall (see ‘Mount your Sound Bar on the wall’ on page 14). You may consider to connect the cables first before mounting the Sound Bar on the wall.

Install/replace the remote control batteries

Warnings

Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

Open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries

if necessary.

Place two new AAA batteries into the battery

compartment with the correct polarity (+/-).

Close the battery compartment.

Setup is complete. Your Sound Bar is ready to use. For more information about how to access different connection options on your Sound Bar, see the following chapter.

Overview of the Remote Control

Short press to enter Sleep or Standby mode. Long press to enter Standby mode.

Press to adjust the lightness of the display. Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter Night mode or close Night mode.

Press to turn on/off Dolby vertical surround.

Press to switch the audio source to Optical mode.

Press to switch the audio source to HDMI IN source.

Press to switch the audio source to HDMI OUT (ARC) source.

Press to switch the audio source to USB source.

Press to switch the audio source to Bluetooth mode. Press and hold to enter pairing mode.

Press to switch on/off Pass Through function.

MOVIE / MUSIC / TV

Press to select the equalizer (EQ) effect when you are watching TV, movie or listening to music.

Increase or decrease the treble sound effect.

Switch to previous or next music. (Under Bluetooth or USB mode)

Decrease or increase the volume level.

Press to play/pause the music. (Under Bluetooth or USB mode) In Standby or Sleep mode, press and hold for 5 seconds to enter Menu, and then press view options. And press OK to confirm.

Press to mute or unmute the sound.

Increase or decrease the bass sound effect.

3 Connect your Sound

Bar system

After you have fixed the position of the Sound Bar, you can start connecting it to your TV or other devices and listen to the audio through your Sound Bar. Make sure you have muted the audio of your TV or device. For information, check the user manual of your TV or device.

Connect with the HDMI cable

Note

Make sure your TV or device supports the HDMI ARC feature. For information, check the user manual of your TV or device.

Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC input connector on your Sound Bar and another end to the HDMI ARC output connector of your TV or device.

To get the best possible audio experience using the HDMI cable, follow below given steps:

For TCL TV:

Connect HDMI cable from the HDMI (ARC) interface on the sound bar to the HDMI (ARC/eARC) interface on the TV. Connect power cord.

Enable the CEC function in the settings of the TCL TV.

CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) function naming may differ by TV manuafacturer. This feature may be called CEC, Anynet+, SimpLink, BRAVIA Link, EasyLink or VIERA Link. Please see your TV's user manual for more information.

Optional: Connect your Blu-ray player

For ease of use, you are advised to connect a Blu-ray player to the TV and enjoy the Sound Bar through HDMI-ARC. However, in order to enjoy Dolby TrueHD based Atmos content that not all TVs may support through HDMI-ARC, you can optionally connect your Blu-ray player directly to the Sound Bar using the HDMI-in port.

The Sound Bar willl pass on the video signal to the TV. If it is not successful, turn on the Sound Bar and try again.

• The HDMI input supports UHD (4K) and that it can also be

used for game console to enjoy Dolby Atmos audio.

Connect with the optical cable

Remove the protective caps from the optical cable

when necessary.

Connect one end of the optical cable to the optical input

connector on your Sound Bar and another end to the optical output connector of your TV or device.

Note

If there is no sound output from the Sound Bar, try to activate the PCM signal output on your TV or device. PCM is used to convert analog audio signals into digital audio signals in most devices. For more information of

Do not bend or kink the optical cable (SPDIF) as it

is fragile and can easily get damaged and broken.

To get the best possible audio experience using the optical cable:

Press the Home button on your TCL TV Remote.

Navigate to Audio option under Settings.

Uncheck the “TV speaker enabled” option.

Under S/PDIF and ARC, select PCM-Stereo.

• Different devices may have different menu options.

• Devices such as Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, etc. are also applicable.

Connect your Sound Bar to power supply

Make sure that you have completed all other

connections before connecting the Sound Bar to power supply.

Make sure the power supply voltage complies with your

country’s safety standards (see ‘Specifications’ on page

38)

Connect one end of a supplied AC power cord to the

AC input connector on your Sound Bar and another end to the power socket on the wall.

Notes

Make sure your wireless device supports the Bluetooth function. The operational range between the Sound Bar and your Bluetooth device is approximately 10m (without any obstacle between the Bluetooth device and the Sound Bar).

Your Sound Bar system is now set up and ready to be used.

To disconnect the Bluetooth function, you can:

1. Power on the sound bar.

2. On an Android phone, open the Google Home app and continue with step 3.

3. In the Google Home app, make sure you are signed in and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

4. Once setup is complete via step 3, you are now connected to your network and Wi-Fi. Now you can enjoy Chromecast built-in from any device on the same network.

5. After this setup you may see an message on the sound bar display that there is new software available (NEW SW OK/NOT"). Please press “Play-Pause/OK” button on your remote control to download software and upgrade your sound bar or any other key to skip for now.

1. Power on the sound bar.

2. On an iOS device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and continue with step 3.

3. For the Airplay 2, in Settings > Wi-Fi, look for "TCL 8132 Sound Bar" under "SETUP AS NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER" and complete the setup process.

4. Once setup is complete via step 3, you are now connected to your network and Wi-Fi. Now you can enjoy AirPlay from any device on the same network.

5. After this setup you may see an message on the sound bar display that there is new software available (NEW SW OK/NOT"). Please press “Play-Pause/OK” button on your remote control to download software andupgrade your sound bar or any other key to skip for now.

Setting up Works With Alexa

1. Press and hold the (next) button on the sound bar remote for 5s until the

display on the sound bar shows ALEXA SETUP

2. Now open the Alexa app on your device.

3. If the Alexa app indicates that your Bluetooth function is not turned on, go to

the Settings and activate Bluetooth

4. In the Alexa app, select the Devices tab and use the "+" button to add a new

device.

Select "Speaker" for the kind of device and "TCL" as the brand.

6. You will now be asked to select the Wi-Fi network you want the sound bar to

connect to. This is typically the same Wi-Fi network as your phone is using. You may need to enter the Wi-Fi network's password.

7. After a short while, you will be asked to try out some examples on how to use

the soundbar and after this, the display on the sound bar shows ALEXA READY. Your setup is now complete.

Note: This setup requires you to install the Alexa app from the App Store or Google Play. If you open the Alexa app you may automatically be invited to set up your sound bar, in this case just follow the steps. Otherwise proceed with the steps below.

Connect your wireless subwoofer to the Sound Bar

When the wireless subwoofer is connected, you can enjoy powerful deep bass sounds and a truly immersive audio experience.

Auto pairing

Make sure both the Sound Bar and wireless subwoofer are connected to the power supply and are turned on.

The Sound Bar will pair with the subwoofer automatically.

The amber LED will flash when pairing is in progress.

The amber LED will remain on solidly when pairing is successful.

If you have more than one device to be connected, please connect the next one after connecting the previous one successfuly.

Automatic detection and upgrade of Sound Bar software：

1. Ensure your Sound Bar and Subwoofer are both powered up.

2. Ensure your Sound Bar and Subwoofer pair successfully.

Make sure the Sound Bar is properly connected to the

power supply and sources.

Press at the top panel of your Sound Bar main unit or

remote control to switch to the correct source.

Listen to music from your Bluetooth device

Make sure that your device supports A2DP and/or AVRCP.

For information, check the specification of your device.

Pair your Bluetooth device with the Sound Bar (see

‘Connect the Sound Bar with your Bluetooth device’ on page 27).

Start listening to music stored in your Bluetooth device

through the Sound Bar.

• If your Bluetooth device supports A2DP, you can listen to music, but you cannot control the playback.

• If your Bluetooth device supports AVRCP, you can listen to music and control music playback with the remote control. Press playback. Press to skip to the previous/next track.

Note

Tips

7 FAQ

No power

Make sure the AC power cord and AC input connector are connected properly. Make sure there is power supply. Make sure the Sound Bar has turned on.

No sound

Make sure the audio cable is connected to the Sound Bar and your device. Make sure you have selected the correct source. Press Make sure the Sound Bar is not muted.

Low voice

Use the remote control to adjust the volume. May opend Night mode, please press for 3 seconds to exit the Night mode.

* Other EQs cannot be selected in Night Mode.

The remote control does not work.

Make sure you have selected the correct source. Make sure the distance of remote control and the Sound Bar is within operational range. Make sure the battery is correctly inserted and is working. Make sure the remote control is close to the remote control sensor of the Sound Bar.

I hear distorted sound.

Make sure all cables are properly connected. Make sure you have selected the correct source. Make sure the TV is muted if you play audio from the TV.

I cannot find the Bluetooth name of this Sound Bar on my Bluetooth device.

Make sure the Bluetooth function is activated on your Bluetooth device. Make sure the Sound Bar has paired with your Bluetooth device.
