1. General

Pixi4-3 5 3G – ALCATEL ONETOUCH 4017F & ALCATEL 4017_D_E_X_S is a phone with MT6572M platform (Dual core 1.0 GHz), and BT/WLAN/MP3, social network service etc functions. 4017A_X are Single SIM and 4017D_E_F are Dual SIM. It can work with the GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS 900/2100 for EMEA, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS 850/900/2100 for LATAM.

4) Battery charge time For a normally discharged battery which has not been stored for long time, the charge time listed as below table.

Note:

 If the battery is new, charge it before use. Battery icon will appear after charging a short time.

This chapter describes the maintenance of the Pixi4-3.5 3G 4017 A_D_E_F_X_S series phones authorized at L1 repair center. The maintenance operations can only be performed in approved repair centers.

When to use: If you can’t start your handset or when you start your handset, there will be something wrong

What does it do when you use End user format function: it will format end user area, and your handset will come back to factory model, everything you save or set in the handset (except SIM card) will be lost.

2.7 Cell phone maintenance

1) Equipments for handset test.

 Handset with full power.  One SIM card.

2) It is recommended the following tools:

 One PC with Windows 2000/NT/XP/Windows 7.  One ampere meter for charger current test.

2) If the IMEI sticker in the back casing is not lost: We should make sure that the IMEI number must be the same with the one on the IMEI sticker, if not, it’s out of warranty policy.

If humidity sensitive label is not good, the cell phone will be considered as out of guarantee.

2.12 Accessories inspection

Accessories warranties check items:

1) Any use in abnormal temperature, other than the one specified in the user manual. Any evidence of plastic/casing melted.

2) Any mark of food or liquid around the accessory or in the USB socket.

3) Any evidence of mechanical shocked which damage the enclosure of the battery, charger or headset.

4) Any mark of tentative of disassembly the accessory

5) Any abnormal use which induce wire damage, wire broken or USB socket deformed.

2.13 Cell phone maintenance procedure

1) Check that the SIM card is set correctly.

2) Power on the cell phone.

3) If the cell phone asks to input NCK code, which means it is SIM locked, and can only be worked with

dedicated SIM card. Use the correct SIM card.

4) Enter the phone code if necessary.

5) If power on, test step by step with the auto test code:

Press *#2886# in dial screen and then you will see the interface displaying the SW version. Select “Auto” to start the auto test, or select “MANU” to do the MMI test manually.

If one of the tests failed during “Auto” test mode, it will show “Text[X] xxx failed. Restart?”, press “YES” to retest, press “Next” to go on next test and press ”NO” to finish test.

I. You can get some information such as IMEI, CU-REF, PTM, Date Code, etc.

I. Put the handset towards up according to instruction;

III. Put the handset “face down”, “down”, “left”, “right” and “face up” according to instruction,

and then the instruction will disappear and it will say “All positions checked” if it functions well;

3. Replace the handset parts

3.1. Preliminary

Before any disassembly (except the antenna), the back cover, battery and SIM card must be removed firstly.

3.2. Precaution

The heart of the handset contains all digital circuit (microprocessor, ASIC, memories, display, etc) and the high-frequency transceiver circuit which is protected by the upper and lower cover. However, some ESD sensitive area is completely or partially visible (keypad keys, micro-SIM drive, etc). In order to prevent any risk of ESD damage during disassembly or assembly of the handset, the operator's wrist should be grounded. This picture illustrates the connection. The operator wears an electrostatic conduct bracelet which connected to an anti-static pad. And the pad place on the work surface which connected to the metal structure workbench, the whole being earthed.

3.3.2. Charger test

When the standard charger is connected to the cell phone, check correct running of the charge indicator on the display (refer to item 3.3.1 ).

Use the ampere meter to test the current of the charger.

1) Connect the power supply to ampere meter with adapter.

 Power on adapter

2) Connect the cables from “OUT” on other side to handset.

 Power on charger

3) Connect charger to the meter “ IN “ on the side

4) You can read the current on ampere-meter

5) The reading of the charger output should be 350 mA~550 mA

4. Software download

It is authorized to download software for the handset which needs to be updated. This downloading tool is called “Sugar MTK_SP”. Thus internet access is necessary. TS Website: https://css.tclmobile.cn/.
