4) Battery charge time
For a normally discharged battery which has not been stored for long time, the charge time
listed as below table.
Note:
If the battery is new, charge it before use. Battery icon will appear after charging a short
time.
If the battery is deeply discharged, battery icon will appear after charging several minutes and accompany
with a slight sound.

This chapter describes the maintenance of the Pixi4-3.5 3G 4017 A_D_E_F_X_S series phones authorized
at L1 repair center. The maintenance operations can only be performed in approved repair centers.

How to use: long press “Power” Key + “Volume up” key in power off mode to enter recovery mode.
When to use: If you can’t start your handset or when you start your handset, there will be something wrong
with it, like can’t charge or can’t charge normally.
What does it do when you use End user format function: it will format end user area, and your handset
will come back to factory model, everything you save or set in the handset (except SIM card) will be lost.

2) If the IMEI sticker in the back casing is not lost:
We should make sure that the IMEI number must be the same with the one on the IMEI sticker, if not,
it’s out of warranty policy.

If humidity sensitive label is not good, the cell phone will be considered as out of guarantee.

2.12 Accessories inspection
Accessories warranties check items:
1) Any use in abnormal temperature, other than the one specified in the user manual. Any evidence of
plastic/casing melted.
2) Any mark of food or liquid around the accessory or in the USB socket.
3) Any evidence of mechanical shocked which damage the enclosure of the battery, charger or headset.
4) Any mark of tentative of disassembly the accessory
5) Any abnormal use which induce wire damage, wire broken or USB socket deformed.
2.13 Cell phone maintenance procedure
1) Check that the SIM card is set correctly.
2) Power on the cell phone.
3) If the cell phone asks to input NCK code, which means it is SIM locked, and can only be worked with

dedicated SIM card. Use the correct SIM card.
4) Enter the phone code if necessary.
5) If power on, test step by step with the auto test code:
Press *#2886# in dial screen and then you will see the interface displaying the SW version. Select
“Auto” to start the auto test, or select “MANU” to do the MMI test manually.
If one of the tests failed during “Auto” test mode, it will show “Text[X] xxx failed. Restart?”, press “YES”
to retest, press “Next” to go on next test and press ”NO” to finish test.

I. You can get some information such as IMEI, CU-REF, PTM, Date Code, etc.

3. Replace the handset parts
3.1. Preliminary
Before any disassembly (except the antenna), the back cover, battery and SIM card must be removed firstly.
3.2. Precaution
The heart of the handset contains all digital circuit (microprocessor, ASIC, memories, display, etc) and the
high-frequency transceiver circuit which is protected by the upper and lower cover.
However, some ESD sensitive area is completely or partially visible (keypad keys, micro-SIM drive, etc).
In order to prevent any risk of ESD damage during disassembly or assembly of the handset, the operator's
wrist should be grounded.
This picture illustrates the connection. The operator wears an electrostatic conduct bracelet which
connected to an anti-static pad. And the pad place on the work surface which connected to the metal
structure workbench, the whole being earthed.

3.3.2. Charger test
When the standard charger is connected to the cell phone, check correct running of the charge indicator on
the display (refer to item 3.3.1 ).
Use the ampere meter to test the current of the charger.
1) Connect the power supply to ampere meter with adapter.
Power on adapter
2) Connect the cables from “OUT” on other side to handset.
Power on charger
3) Connect charger to the meter “ IN “ on the side
4) You can read the current on ampere-meter
5) The reading of the charger output should be 350 mA~550 mA
4. Software download
It is authorized to download software for the handset which needs to be updated. This downloading tool
is called “Sugar MTK_SP”. Thus internet access is necessary. TS Website: https://css.tclmobile.cn/.
4.1 Equipments requested when download:
⑴ A handset with full power;

⑵ PC with windows system;
⑶ A USB cable.
4.2 Install driver
Double click to install the Sugar MTK_SP, then select the “Install driver” check box for the driver installation.

4.3 SW download process
I. Login the Sugar MTK_SP, then select the 4017 model:

II. Click the button ”Get Version” to check the SW version of the headset

III. Click the “Upgrade” button, disconnect the USB cable, then insert USB cable again

Note: During the download progress a warning window will prompt as below if the phone has been
rooted before.
If the phone has been rooted, it means that the phone is out of warranty. End users need to pay to
upgrade, otherwise click "No" to exit the upgrade.
