Safety instructions
Caution! The directions in this manual must be followed strictly. The
safety instructions and the manual must completely be read and understood before start-up! The device may only be operated under the constant supervision of trained personnel. Maintenance of the device may only be carried out by the manufacturer. In occurrence of malfunctions or dangerous situations the device must immediately be shut down!
WARNING! Non-observance of the following safety instructions may lead to severe damage to persons and/or property, by fire, explosion or electric shock!
1. Transport and storage
Check the incoming goods for damage and completeness. Notify the shipper immediately of any transport damage.
The parts must be unpacked with great care and caution to prevent damage to sensitive components, such as controls.
The components of the device must not be stored unsheltered outdoors. Protect against moisture and precipitation.
2. Installation
The device is suitable for indoor use. When installing it on outdoor stages, make sure the device is protected against wind or heavy airflow, precipitation or heavy moisture. Ensure good stability when setting up the device. The device must be fully secured against dislocation. The assembly of the device must be carried out de-energized. No impact or vibration stress may occur. The device must be secured against unauthorized access.

3
Sufficient safety distance, especially to personnel, must be considered when assembling the device. Performers and participants must be clear of the safety distances beforehand, and the operation must be rehearsed. In dangerous situations the device must immediately be shut down!
The sideway safety distance in still air is 2 m. The safety distance above the nozzle is 7 m.
Maintenance on the device may only be performed by the qualified personnel of the manufacturer. The casings of the Jet-Master or the control panel must not be opened. Risk of electric shock! By opening the casings of the Jet-Master or the control panel any guarantee and/or warranty expires and we assume no liability for consequential accidents and damage to persons and/or property.
Only original parts from the manufacturer may be used for the assembly and operation of the device. The usage of other parts can lead to severe damage to persons or property.
3. Start-up
The initial operation may only be carried out after complete assembly of all necessary components and safeguards by trained personnel, in consideration of all topics addressed in these safety instructions and the operating manual. We disclaim liability for faulty start-up carried out by an untrained third party, and the warranty expires.
4. Operation
ATTENTION: DO NOT TRIGGER THE Jet-MASTER LONGER THAN 5 MINUTES!
The operation of the unit is only allowed for the designated purpose, within the boundaries of design, by trained personnel. We assume no liability for inappropriate use, which can lead to severe damage to persons and/or property. Furthermore, warranty expires.
In dangerous situations the device must immediately be shut down and disconnected from the power source.
Make sure that all high-pressure hoses and connections are intact. Defective or damaged parts must not be used.

Use only original parts from the manufacturer for extension or replacement of the high-pressure hoses. Other hoses are generally unsuitable; their use may result in considerable hazard for persons and/or property.
The unit may only be run with CO2 from pressure cylinders with a riser pipe. No liability is assumed for consequential damage caused by use of other gases. Moreover, any warranty from the manufacturer expires.
The CO2-Jet-Master from the nozzle is extremely cold (-70°C) and must never be aimed at people. Danger of frostbite and irreversible damage.
CO
2
gas is heavier than air and may accumulate in low ceiling spaces
causing deficiency of oxygen. Danger of suffocation.
Ensure sufficient ventilation when installing the Jet-Master in interior rooms. If installed permanently, also install a CO
2
alarm system if
applicable.
All metallic parts of the unit, including the hand valves of the CO2 bottles, may be extremely cold after use. Danger of frostbite. Wear cold-insulating gloves when touching cold parts of the unit.
5. Shut-down
At least once a year the device should undergo a safety inspection, maintenance and adjustment by the manufacturer. Either an appointment must be made with the manufacturer to have the unit inspected, or it must be sent in.

Jet-Master
Operating manual
1. Note: please read and follow the safety instructions closely!
2. Preface
The Jet-Master is designed to create quickly dissolving fog columns with a height of up to 5m, it is run with pressurized CO2 gas. The device is basically designed for in-door use; the use on outdoor stages is only possible if the unit is protected against precipitation, humidity, strong drafts and winds (see safety instructions).
3. Components of the unit
The unit consists of:
Jet-Master CO
2
high-pressure hose and
Power cable, 5 m
4. System Functionality
After connecting the Jet-Master to a CO2 pressure cylinder with riser pipe and to a 230V AC power line, an electromagnetic valve is opened. The liquid CO2 then streams through the riser pipe of the pressure cylinder, through the hose line into the electromagnetic valve and eventually evaporates in the nozzle. Due to the cold of the emitted gas, the humidity condensates and forms a massive fog column, which lasts as long as the valve is opened.
6
5. Installation of the unit with the multicontroller or the 8 channel DMX
controller
Only original parts from the manufacturer may be used for the installation. The Jet-Master works with highly compressed CO2 gas, which becomes extremely cold when it evaporates (-70°C). All parts of the unit are specifically designed and selected by the manufacturer and must neither be changed nor replaced with other parts. Ensure good stability and fastening when setting up the device, as the emission of the CO2 gas causes recoil. Always mount the nozzle in a direction where the emitted gas stream cannot represent a hazard for persons. The pressure cylinders must be operated upright (vertically) and secured against tilting.
After the safe installation of the CO2 pressure cylinder mount the highpressure hose. Put the included hard gasket/copper gasket on the gasket face within the screw connection of the CO2 cylinder and tightly screw the hose to that fitting (right-hand thread). Connect the Jet-Master with a 5-pin XLR-cable to an usual DMX-512 controller and with the power cable to a power source of 230 V AC. Now the DMX-channel can be set. The Jet-Master is equipped with a safety function. Triggering the Jet-Master is only possible if the device is unlocked via DMX. The selected DMX channel, indicated on the 7-segment displays, is the channel for unlocking. The activation of the Jet-Master is triggered with the proximate DMX channel. Thus the Jet-Master can only be activated when both channels are triggered at the same time. Example: Channel 001 is selected in the segment display. The clearance (unlocking) effects when the DMX console sends a signal on DMX channel
001. If the DMX console now sends a signal on channel 002 the Jet-Master will be activated. Now open the hand valve of the pressure cylinder. In case of leakage, either tighten the screw connection or replace the gasket. The unit is now ready.
ENSURE THAT NOBODY IS WITHIN THE SAFETY AREA OF THE STEAMER'S NOZZLE WHEN TRIGGERING THE FOG COLUMN!!
ATTENTION: DO NOT TRIGGER THE JET-MASTER LONGER THAN 5 MINUTES!
6. Shut-down
Shut the hand valve of the CO2 pressure cylinder. The unit is then depressurized by activating the unit. Disconnect the unit from power supply and then unscrew the high-pressure hose. Disassembly can now begin in reverse order. Keep in mind that the nozzle and all metallic parts of the unit may be extremely cold!
7
7. In case of emergency
If serious malfunctions occur that pose a threat to persons and property, the device must immediately be shut down. Unplug the power cable. Then immediately close the hand valve of the CO2 pressure cylinder.
8. Care, maintenance and storage
The unit is mostly maintenance-free. After long periods of operation and frequent use, the electromagnetic valve may become leaky. This is noticeable by a constant hissing noise, which becomes louder every time the unit is operated. Short hissing noises, however, are normal, as some dry ice may form between the valve seating and the valve gasket. This ice will evaporate quickly, thus not compromising the valve's functionality. Maintenance should be carried out annually, please make an appointment with the manufacturer, or send the unit in.
