Compact and light, it can be stored neatly within your luggage
when you are travelling.

BATTERY INFORMATION

This scale operates on 1 – 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery (installed). There is a strip under
the lithium battery cover to prevent battery drain in shipping. Please remove the strip before
continuing with these instructions. Also, some models have a static cling label on the lens to
prevent scratching. Please remove before use.

Replace the battery when the Low Battery icon “ ” or “Lo” appears on the display, or the
readings grow dim or irregular. To replace the battery:

1. Use one 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery.

2. Remove screw (or screws) from the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the scale and

remove the cover. Take care when removing and replacing the battery door screw. Do not turn
the screw in the wrong direction or over tighten it as this may strip the screw threads in the
plastic battery door.

3. Remove the old battery from the compartment.

4. Place the new battery with the “+” sign up into the battery compartment.

5. Replace the battery compartment cover and screw(s).

NOTE: Please recycle or dispose of batteries per local regulations.
WARNING: Batteries may pose a choking hazard. As with all small items, do not let children handle

batteries. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
PRECAUTION: Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak. Remove the

battery if the scale will not be used for a long period of time.

LIFTING GUIDE

• Important - if you cannot comfortably lift your luggage do not attempt to weigh it.

• Stand with luggage.

• Hold scale handle with both hands.

• Keeping back straight, bend knees then lift.

• Look ahead, not at the display, while lifting. The scale will beep to alert you once the weight
reading has been taken.

• Avoid twisting the back or leaning sideways. Keep shoulders level and facing same direction as
hips. Keep your back straight at all times.

• Keep luggage close to the body but not touching.

• Luggage only needs to be just clear of floor to take
a weight reading.

• Lift smoothly.

• When measurement is complete, lower the luggage in
the reverse manner you lifted. (FIG. 1 shows the correct lifting method).

OPERATING YOUR SCALE

1. Attach the strap around the luggage handle with the buckle. Ensure the buckle is securely

engaged.

2. Hold scale handle with both hands. Allow the strap to dangle beneath scale to enable an
accurate zero reading.

3. Press the “ q ” button to switch the scale on. Wait until the display shows zero.

4. Gently lift scale until luggage is off the floor.

5.

When a stable weight reading is achieved, the scale will beep and display the weight.

6. Lower the luggage to the floor.

7. The weight is displayed for approximately 30 seconds before switching off, or press and hold the

“q” button for 3 seconds to switch off manually.

8. Note: A weight reading may be reset to zero by pressing the “q” button. When the weight is

removed, the scale will show a negative number. To reset the scale to zero, press the “q” button.

TO CHANGE MEASUREMENT UNITS

Your scale is set to weigh in pounds. To switch between measurement units:

1. Press the “q” button to switch the scale on. The display shows “ ” then “8888” before

showing zero.

2. When “8888” appears, press the “q” button to switch between pound (lb), kilogram (kg) or stone

(st) units of measurement (1 stone = 14 pounds).

ACCURACY & ALLOWANCES

Some factors affecting accuracy need to be allowed for:

• If the strap is pulled while taking a zero reading or the luggage touches yourself or an obstacle
during weighing this can affect the accuracy.

• Your scale rounds up or down to the nearest increment. If you take two readings and get different
readings, the weight lies between the two.

• Your scale readings may not match the airline check-in desk due to manufacturing tolerances.

• After a flight allow the scale to return to room temperature before use. For these reasons we
recommend your luggage weighs at least 1.2lb/500g less than your airline allowance, this should
also allow you to take your luggage scale with you.

ADVICE FOR USE & CARE

• Do not exceed the 110 lb / 50 kg / 7 stone 12 lb maximum weight capacity.

• Clean your scale with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning agents.

• Do not use scale if the strap or buckle show any signs of fatigue.

• Treat your scale with care – it is a precision instrument. Do not drop it.

• Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak. Remove the battery if the scale
will not be used for a long period of time.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

If you experience any difficulty in the use of your scale:

• Check that the battery is correctly fitted.

• Check that you have selected your preference of pounds, kilograms or stones.

• If when you use the scale there is no display at all or if “ ” or “Lo” is displayed – try a new
battery.

• This scale is designed to read weights between 1.2 and 110 lb / 500 g and 50 kg/ 1.2 lb and 7 st 12
lb. To prevent damage, do not place more than 110 lb / 50 kg/ 7 st 12 lb on it.

• If “EEEE” is displayed the scale has been overloaded. Remove the weight immediately; otherwise,
permanent damage could occur.

INFORMATION DE LA PILE

Cette balance fonctionne avec 1 - pile de 3 volts au lithium CR2032 (tel qu’installée). Il y a une bande
sous le couvercle de la pile lithium afin d’éviter l’épuisement de la pile durant l’expédition. Veuillez retirer
la bande avant de continuer les instructions. De même, certains modèles ont une étiquette à collement
électrostatique sur la lentille pour éviter tout égratignement. Veuillez la retirer avant d’utiliser.

Remplacez la pile si l’icône de pile faible « » ou «Lo» (faible) apparaît dans le l’affichage, ou si les
relevés sont plus faibles ou irrégulière. Pour remplacer la pile:

1. Utilisez 1- pile de 3 volts au lithium CR2032.

2. Retirez la vis (ou les vis) du couvercle du compartiment de pile au bas de la balance et retirez

le couvercle. Faites preuve de vigilance lorsque vous retirez et replacez la vis de la porte du
compartiment à piles. Ne tournez pas la vis dans le mauvais sens ou ne la serrez pas trop car cela
risque d’abîmer les filetages de la vis dans la porte de la batterie en plastique.

3. Retirez la vieille pile du compartiment.

4. Placez la nouvelle pile dans le compartiment avec le signe « + » sur le dessus dans le compartiment

de la pile.

5. Replacez le couvercle de pile et le vis (ou les vis).

NOTE: Pour le recyclage ou la mise au rebut des piles, assurez-vous de respecter les dispositions
réglementaires de votre localité.

AVERTISSEMENT: Les piles peuvent présenter un risque de suffocation. Comme avec tous les petits
objets, ne laissez pas les enfants manipuler les piles. En cas d’ingestion, consulter immédiatement un
médecin.

ATTENTION: Ne jetez pas les piles usées dans le feu afin d’éviter tout risque d’explosion ou de fuite.
Veillez à retirer la pile de l’appareil si vous envisagez de ne pas l’utiliser pour une période prolongée.

GUIDE DE LEVAGE

• Important – Si vous ne pouvez pas soulever facilement votre bagage, n’essayez pas de le peser.

• Mettez-vous debout le bagage.

• Tenez la poignée de la balance avec les deux mains.

• Puis soulevez en maintenant le dos droit et les genoux fléchis.

• Regardez devant vous et non l’écran tout en soulevant. La balance vous avertira par un bip sonore dès
que la pesée est effectuée.

• Évitez toute torsion du dos ou de vous pencher sur le côté. Gardez les épaules de niveau et orientées
dans la même direction tout en maintenant l’axe des hanches à la verticale. Gardez votre dos verticale
en tout temps.

• Gardez le bagage près du corps, sans le toucher.

• Il suffit que le bagage ne soit plus posé au sol pour le peser.

• Soulevez doucement.

• Quand la prise de mesure est terminée, abaissez le bagage en
procédant dans le sens contraire du levage. (La FIG.1 montre la
méthode de levage correcte.)

UTILISATION DE L’APPAREIL

1. Attachez la sangle autour de la poignée du bagage, avec la boucle. Assurez-vous que la boucle est

bien engagée.

2. Tenez la poignée de la balance avec les deux mains. Laissez la sangle suspendue sous la balance pour
permettre une remise à zéro précise.

3. Appuyez sur le bouton « q » pour allumer la balance. Attendre que l’écran affiche zéro.

4. Levez doucement la balance jusqu’à ce que le bagage soit au-dessus du sol.

5. Lorsque la pesée est stabilisée, la balance fasse entendre un bip et montre le poids.
