7Never block the ventilation holes. Connect the device
exactly as described in the instructions.
8Do not place the device near heat sources such as radia-
tors, ovens or other appliances emitting heat (including
amplifiers).
9Only connect the device with the supplied power cord to
a suitable wall outlet. If the provided plug does not fit
into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of
the obsolete outlet.
10 Install the power cord in such a way that nobody can trip
over it. Also make sure that the cable does not become
trapped, especially near the plug, the receptacle or at the
point where it comes out of the device.
11 Only use accessories recommended by the manufactu-
rer.
12 When a cart is used, operate carefully to prevent the
device from tipping over.
13 Disconnect the device from the mains during a storm by
pulling on the power plug and from the antenna by pulling out the antenna plug. Also do this when you are not
going to use the device for a long period of time.
Otherwise there is danger of lighting!
14 Please contact qualified personnel when servicing is
needed. Servicing is required when this product has
been damaged in any way, for example, when the power
cord or plug is damaged, when liquid has been spilled on
the product, when objects have fallen into the product,
when the product has been exposed to rain or moisture,
when the product does not work normally or if the product has been dropped.

• Remove batteries when the device is not to be used
for a long time. Warning!
• Do not try to recharge the batteries and do not throw
batteries into fire.
• Do not disassemble any batteries – there is risk of
explosion!
New Regulations concerning the disposal of used batteries apply. Batteries may be returned for free to your dealer’s shop or to public recycling and collection places in
smaller quantities. Do not dispose of any batteries in
with the domestic trash. Use the free collecting systems!

device consumes electricity in the Standby mode. In
order to completely disconnect the device from the
mains, the power plug must be pulled out from the wall
outlet. For this reason, the device should be positioned
in a way that assures unobstructed access to the wall
outlet so that the power plug can be immediately pulled
out in an emergency situation. To avoid the danger of fire
if the device is not going to be used for a long while (e.g.
during holidays), it should always be disconnected from
the power socket.
Always hold all cables by the plug and never pull on the
cable itself. Never hold the power cord with wet hands as
this may cause a short circuit or electric shock. Do not
place the unit itself nor any furniture or other devices
onto the power cord and make sure that the cable does
not become trapped. Never make knots in the cable and
do not tie it together with other cords. The power cord
should be positioned so that nobody can trip over them
or be obstructed by them. A damaged power cord can
cause a fire or an electric shock. Inspect the power cord
from time to time. In case of damage, contact the nearest
authorised service centre or your dealer for replacement.

If your receiver or amplifier is NOT capable of handling
96 kHz signals, select 48 kHz. When this choice is
made, this unit automatically converts any 96 kHz signals to 48 kHz so your system can decode them.
If your receiver or amplifier is capable of handling 96
kHz signals, select 96 kHz. When this choice is made,
this unit passes each type of signal through without any
further processing.
Check the documentation for your amplifier to verify its
capabilities.
DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
With the DVD format, you can hear a program’s soundtrack in the most accurate and realistic presentation
possible, thanks to digital audio technology. However,
you may wish to compress the dynamic range of the
audio output (the difference between the loudest
sounds and the quietest ones). This allows you to listen
to a movie at a lower volume without losing clarity of
sound. Set DRC to On for this effect.

Set to On only when a multi-channel karaoke DVD is
